Franklin Delano Roosevelt s Life And Education
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York as an only child
to a rich couple. Franklin s family had been prominent for several generations, having made their
fortune in real estate and trade. Roosevelt was the only child of James Roosevelt and Sara Ann
Delano Roosevelt. The family lived at Springwood, their estate in the Hudson River Valley in
New York State. (Biography.com Editors, pg.1).As previously inquired, the fact that Roosevelt
had been born to a rich family severely influenced his life and education. While growing up,
Franklin Roosevelt was surrounded by privilege and a sense of self importance and his being
raised this way is much different than the people whom he d be working with in his lifetime.
Being that Franklin had been born as an only child to such a rich couple, his quality of education
was certified as the best. Upon having several well educated tutors for his quality education. In
1896 Franklin Delano Roosevelt attended Groton School for boys. During his time period at this
school he didn t seem to fit in very well with the other students, they were very athletic but
Roosevelt was different. After graduating Groton Roosevelt attended Harvard University he
participated in many extracurricular activities because of his determination to make something of
himself. After graduating Harvard, Franklin decided to study law at the Columbia University Law
School. He passed his bar exam in the year of 1907. After Franklin had been
Multidimensional Pattern Mining For The Classroom...
Multidimensional pattern mining for the classroom utilization of University of Lethbridge
Md Asif Khan
ID 001178179
Abstract The current classroom utilization of University of Lethbridge is around 50%. Now, they
are planning to increase it up to 80%. The data of classrooms for last five years are available that
includes Course name, Course Level, Approved size, Sitting types, Actual enrollment and so on.
Now, our job is to find out classroom utilization trend, Compare approved and actual enrollment
values, find patterns among the classroom size, level and schedule. Above all, based on the data we
have to take decision on how we can change the schedule of the classes and their length to have a
better utilization yield. We have worked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, even though two universities may have same utilization rates but they may have different
areas of classroom per student. Third, there is no standard framework to find out how all the
universities are doing year by year. We do not know the factors that influence the classroom size,
student enrollment and utilization. There are a lot of questions to be answer. Now, our job is to
find out classroom utilization trend, Compare approved and actual enrollment values, find patterns
among the classroom size, level and schedule. Above all, based on the data we have to take decision
on how we can change the schedule of the classes and their length to have a better utilization yield.
Problem description and prior work
There have been significant works related to Multidimensional data mining. But there is hardly any
work to find any work related to classroom utilization trend associating multidimensional pattern. But
here we have presented some of the data mining technique that we may apply to this field.
Apriori algorithm is one of the notable works for mining multidimensional association rules. A recent
study of Khare et al. [3] has implemented multidimensional association rules using Boolean relational
calculus to discover frequent predicate sets. For the purpose of retrieving pattern from database, the
relational database is first transformed into Boolean matrix by setting us a Boolean matrix Am*n ,
where m (are records) and n ( are different dimension
Importance Of Diffusion Of Everyday Life
Importance of Diffusion in Everyday Life

Importance of Diffusion in Everyday Life
Diffusion is important to organisms because it is the process by which useful molecules enter the
body cells and waste products are removed. One way our body uses diffusion is, the digestion of
food molecules. Diffusion causes a downward action of a concentration gradient, in this instance the
molecules move from the intestine into the blood. There are many other ways diffusion is prevalent
in our systems. Temperature is an important mechanism of diffusion. As temperature increases, so
does the speed of diffusion. Temperature yields the rate of diffusion in a particular situation.

But one example that many can relate to is the diffusion of smoke. Whether it is cigarette smoke,
candle smoke, or smoke from cooking, it happens more frequently than we think. There are articles
and journals on these topics that cover all the ins and outs that we would not even consider to think
about at first glance.
The topic of diffusion that is important and relates to most humans everyday life is cigarette smoke.
Some smokers do not realize that when they smoke, it is not only harming themselves but everyone
around them. The concept of diffusion is what causes second hand smoke. Instead of the smoke just
dropping to the bottom or dissipating into the air, it diffuses and fills the air with many unwanted
materials. Receiving second hand smoke is not genetically inclined unless a mother is smoking
cigarettes while pregnant. The environment plays a role in distributing the smoke puffs in these
scenarios.
Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children, including more
frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory infections, ear infections, and sudden infant death
syndrome (WHO).The evidence from these jurisdictions consistently demonstrates not only that
smoke free environments are enforceable, but popular and became more so following
implementation. These laws have no negative impact and often had positive one. It produces an

Psychological Effects Of The Revolutionary War
The Dirty War , also known as Process of National Reorganization, took place from 1976 to 1983. It
took place by Argentina s military dictatorship against left wing political opponents. This war killed
between 10,000 and 30,000 citizens in Argentina. In March of 1976, a military group removed the
president and closed National Congress, imposed censorship, banned trade unions, and brought state
and municipal government under military control. The new president who performed these actions
was Jorge Rafael Videla. Videla believed that the military should be the spinal column of power to
which civilians must adhere (351). He believed that with the military in charge Argentina would be
more stable and grow. Throughout the country many people
The Role of the Concept of Need and Inequality Social Policy
From the inauguration of state organised welfare the concepts of need and inequality have been at
the centre of discussions and debates on social policy. Since the 19th century it has widely been
accepted that the state has some responsibility towards attempting to fulfil some of civil society s
needs and the needs of those most at risk. Changing definitions and attitudes surround the concepts
of need and inequality; this means any discussion of these instantly encapsulates the political and
ideological debates which affect all aspects of social policy. Titmuss (ed. 1987) writes that
collectively provided services are deliberately designed to meet certain socially recognized needs ;
they are manifestations this means any changes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet there were many different ideas on what was seen as real need and who was seen as deserving
of welfare. In the Victorian era people were either deemed as deserving or undeserving poor;
basically meaning that their poverty was either created by their own failings such as alcohol abuse
or by eventualities which were out of their control such as job losses or illness (thus making them
deserving) (Fraser, 1984). With the expansion of State welfare, and the bureaucracy which came
with it, the poor were no longer categorised into deserving or undeserving instead their needs were
assessed. The introduction of the means test established a way of determining the extent of the
needs of people. Although this may appear a fair way of organising welfare it has in fact had
detrimental effects; according to Deacon Bradshaw (1983) the means test is socially divisive as it
has given rise to gross distortions in the distribution of income amongst poorer families . This
system has also failed to deliver benefits to many people who need them as the means tested service
has reflected values approved by society for example marriage, thus leaving those who do not
conform to these values in a worse position financially (Deacon Bradshaw, 1983). Although means
testing should essentially redistribute wealth through taxation, evidence has shown that it has done
little to combat
Poor Richard s Almanack
Time is an herb that cures all diseases
We have all endured through sad and unfortunate events that eventually pass, but do not depart
without leaving behind memories that haunt us. Breaking up with your significant other, the death
of your cat, Fluffy, and moving from a wonderful city to El Paso, are just some examples of painful
and distressful situations in which humans struggle to get over. We, as humans, often lack the
patience to let time do its magic and heal the emotional wounds that keep us up at night. As the wise
Benjamin Franklin once wrote in Poor Richard s Almanack , Time is an herb that cures all diseases .

Moving is one of the top three most stressful events a person could go through in life, according to
studies. For a lot of people, moving somewhere else might be just like a dream come true, but for
me, this is not the case. Regardless of how great the new place might be, I fail to see the positive
side of it and I only think of the people and things that I am leaving behind. My family and I have
been moving around from place to place for the last 5 years non stop. Goodbye has become so
common; I cannot bare the pain of it much longer. I feel as though I have experienced it more than
enough, and an outsider would probably assume that I am already used to switching schools, moving
into a new house, and making friends, but I am certainly not. However, in time, things always get
better and everything else just falls into place. Moving has helped me understand that patience and
time will bring me the happiness and opportunities I was searching for from the
Tibia Essay
Background
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) is an othopaedic procedure to repair rupture of cranial
cruciate ligament (CCL) in dogs. It has also been applied in cats. The canine CCL is a band of
tough fibrous tissue that attaches the femur to the tibia. It is attached to the interdylar notch of the
tibia at one end and the caudomedial part of the lateral femoral condyle at the other end. It keeps the
tibia from sliding cranially beneath the femur when the limb bears weight. It also limits medial
rotation of the tibia when the stifle is flexed [1]. These help to prevent the stifle joint from over
extending or rotating.
The rupture of this ligament in dog is not suddenly broken due to excessive trauma, but usually
degenerates slowly over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

After the model was imported into Abaqus, the mechanical properties earned from the prior
process were assigned to the model. In addition, as the model is assumed as a homogenous
structure, then the highest values of all mechanical properties were used as a representative of all
structure. These properties are density of 1813 kg/m3, young modulus of 4993 MPa and Poisson
coefficient of 0.3 (see figure 4).
Interaction
This part is the most important of the analysis because fissure and fracture cannot be observed
without given fracture mechanics. Therefore, the crack propagation of this study can be studied
using XFEM method. This method will define the model as a crack domain, but the crack cannot be
propagated without crack initiation. A crack tip was placed at the location where the highest stress
was concentrated on. In our study, the highest stress was located at cylindrical wall of maquet hole
at approximately 225 from X+ axis when determined in XY plane as shown in figure 7. The crack
tip is a very thin surface placed on the model associated with the centre of the maquet hole in XY
plane. This tip has 0.5 mm. overlap into the cylindrical wall of maquet hole as shown in figure
What Are The Major Global Events Occurred During The...
1.a) What are the major global events that occurred in the Proterozoic? (3)
Three global events occurred during the Proterozoic: The oxygen revolution: During the Proterozoic,
biotic system were being established, which gave rise to biomass of the prokaryotic organisms like
the benthic and planktonic photosynthesizing organisms Due to the vast developing diversity of
environment, organisms could well adapt to these various environments, which increased the input
of oxygen on Earth. Hence, in order for the oxygen to be accumulated in the atmosphere, Iron and
Sulfur like oxygen sinks had to be depleted.
Neoproterozoic ice ages: During these ice ages, two major glaciers were formed. One of which was
formed before 600 Ma, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When oxygen and nitrogen combine in water, it forms nitrate, which is an essential chemical for
eukaryotic algae; however, cyanobacteria do not need nitrate for their survival, contrary, they use
elemental nitrogen. This way, even after the evolution of true algae, even though in fewer quantity,
cyanobacteria remained widespread, and oxygen was accumulated.
c)How do geologists know that the glaciation was widespread early in the
Proterozoic? (2)
Glaciation that are widespread can be identified based on the subglacial tillite, which is a thick layer
of sediments that settle down beneath glaciers or ice caps. On top of this subglacial tillite layer is
deposited marine carbonate, also known as cap carbonate. Based on their paleolatitude designated by
glacial sediments paleomagnetism, it can be determined that these deposits are from equator region.
The interaction between two types of sediments, marine (like carbonate) and subgacially deposited
sediments, indicate that the glaciers had approached marine coastlines.
2.a) What reasons are there for the Wopmay orogen being referred to as a
modern style orogen? (4)
It is said during the Archean period, the temperature of Earth was higher than compared to during
the Wopmay orogen tectonism. This was the case because of the heavy, widespread and firm crust
of the Earth. Likewise the Cordillera found in modern day west part of Canada, orogeny has three

Analysis Of Jan Johnson s The Soul Wound
Finding Redemption
Music has always been regarded as an art of high importance. The word itself originates from the
Greek word mousike meaning of the muses , the group of nine Greek Goddesses who regulate the
arts and sciences. It has often been used as a way to heal mental and emotional pain; music speaks
directly to the body through intuitive channels that are accessed at entirely different levels of
consciousness from those associated with cognition (The Music Effect.24). In Jan Johnson s Soul
Wound, Johnson discusses the historical trauma of Native Americans and the rage that is associated
with it. This rage, as she later states, is generally turned inward and expressed through depression,
anxiety, substance abuse, and suicide, and manifested externally within families and communities
through domestic and other forms of violence (Johnson.226 227). In Wabanaki Blues by Melissa
Tantaquidgeon Zobel we see this rage internalized and portrayed in the depression of both Mona
and her mother and depicted in their family dynamic through the neglect of Mona s mother towards
Mona. Mona, as well as other characters in the book, utilize music as a form of therapy to heal the
soul. The characters in Wabanaki Blues utilize music to heal in ways that parallels Bob Marley s
Redemption Song and the Rastafarian religion.
Wabanaki blues is a book that concentrates on a recent graduate of high school named Mona
LaPierre and her path in finding herself. She is a Native American of the
