Social Value And Identity
Social Value and Identity My discourse community is one of a kind, and special, because we are
all so close so we always know what s going on with each other. We also always have something to
do every day there is never a day where we would just sit around and be bored. We also are all
athletes, so we go to the gym and run basketball games and workout. My discourse community is
important because we keep each other on the right path and not let each other go down the wrong
road. If one of us has a problem we can help them handle it. It s also a place where we can tell each
other things, and the whole world won t know because we keep things between us. This is
extremely important because you always need someone to talk to you can t just keep everything to
yourself. The type of people that thrive in my discourse community are hustlers this is because we
are always thinking of ways for us to make money so you need to be able to come with ideas to
contribute to our community. Self motivated people thrive in our discourse community because you
got to be willing to do things without being asked to. Another type of personthat thrives in this
community is someone who doesn t get pushed around, because at this time there is a lot of people
mad with us for something that happened. So, when we see them in public they always are trying
to start a problem. When that happens, we can t just let them push us around, because that would
make us look weak so we got to be able to stand up
Judy Garland Song Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Judy Garland singing Somewhere over the Rainbow was lovely. She was a great singer who had
a beautiful and rich voice. Her voice is incredible because of how much emotion you can hear
from every note she sings. Her voice has really good clarity and vibrato which helps liven up her
voice and gives us that warm and caring voice. Her voice reminds me of the singers that sing
childrens nursery songs because of how much emotion and calmness can be heard. And from
watching the video you can immediately tell that she has great freedom when singingas she
gracefully and effortlessly walks around the stage. Her facial expressions and eyes also add to the
performance because she looks so passionate about the song she is singing. Rufus... Show more

It makes it really hard to understand what she is saying at times. She has a really powerful voice
and I think it s amazing how effortlessly she sings for that long. Her use of resonance is also really
impressive and makes the performance much more exciting. Her Freedom on stage is really
impressive as well because she looks so natural standing there. Eva Cassidy s version of
Somewhere Over the Rainbow is a much more emotional and modern take on the song. The way
she sings the song makes it really touching. When she sings the song it feels like she connected it
to something that was going on in her life at the time. I really like the acoustic spin she put on the
song because it makes much more genuine and human. Overall, the sweet and mellow tone really
sold the performance for me. Israel Kamakawiwo ole s version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow
has a really upbeat and happy tone. I really love the beat of the song paired with Israel s upbeat
and soulful voice. I think his usage of dynamic variety is really well done. He can casually switch
from low to high so naturally. His Ease is also splendid because just from looking at him you know
that he is putting so much effort into his
Demographic Transition Theory For Social Security And...
This paper will define demographic transition theory; analyze the implication of the funding and
availability for social security and adequate health care for seniors and the work and retirement
challenges that seniors face.
The demographic transition theory is a widespread explanation of the changing mold of humanity,
fertility and increase rates as civilizations move from one demographic system to another. The term
was first coined by the American demographer Frank W. Notestein in the mid twentieth century, but
it has since been elaborated and expanded upon by many others (The Demographic Transition, 2012).
There are four stages of demographic transition.
The first stage of the demographic transition is called pre industrial. In this stage, the population is
stable. The birth and death rates are both high. The death rates are at a high due to the increase of
disease, poor medical and personal hygiene care along with the limited supplies of food. With the
death rates being high, people are having more babies to help with mortality rates being so high.
With the birth and death rates being equal, the population growth stays at a zero.
The second stage of the demographic transition theory is called the transitional stage. In this state the
population starts to increase. This happens because the birth rates are high and the death rates are
starting to decline. The second stage is when the development of modern medicine and food
distribution is started to take hold and
Water And Its Effects On Our Lives And The Health Of Our...
The commodification of water throughout history has had substantial impacts the way we live our
lives and the health of our nation. Initially effluents from towns, various types of mills, and tanneries
were channeled to the nearest waterway to be carried downstream and away from the pollution
source. This theory of dilution is the solution to pollutionworked for a little while but as population
grew and the demand for freshwater for humans consumption increased as well Americans learn
quickly that this theory was incorrect. The change of heart on this method was highlighted in a
court case in New York in 1913. This court case was brought against the village of Moravia where
the Board of Education constructed a sewer line from their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This was very evident in the report by Henry B Ward where he had highlighted that the conditions
of the Hudson River in New York had deteriorated so poorly throughout his life that the banks of the
river resembled an open sewer or the stretches of a septic tank [3]. Mr. Ward also stated that the
conditions along the Hudson River did not require any chemical testing to confirm the volume of
pollution that it was blatantly obvious by the form debris on the bottom as well as with materials
floating in the water. Unfortunately this was not a remote situation but was discovered in multiple
locations along the Hudson River [4]. These cases initially started out in small isolated areas but due
to the increase in population as well as expanding industrial complexes nearly waterways the location
and magnitude of pollution grew rapidly. It standing commercial industries of the early 1900s was no
more evidence than the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Unfortunately for those living in the Pittsburgh
region they were living near, consuming, and/or bathing and what was classified the most polluted
waters in the nation if not the entire world at that time. Was interesting to learn is that researchers
during this time. Were not always looking out for the best interests of the residents in the areas but
looking to protect and help commercial interests instead. This was evident by the
Compare And Contrast Machiavelli And American Government
American Government in Contrast to Lao Tzu and Machiavelli In comparing and contrasting the
governmental philosophies of the great thinkers Lao Tzu and Machiavelli, I have found a
pleasant mix of both of their ideas would be the best for America today. Lao Tzu s laisse faire
attitude towards the economy, as well as his small scale military is appealing to my liberal side,
while Machiavelli s attitude towards miserliness which causes low taxes appeals to the right wing.
These great thinkers contradict the popular saying all great thinkers think alike. They have several
ideas, such as taxes, that are the same, while other ideas, like the involvement of government in
citizens everyday lives are totally opposite. I shall start with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These wars should go on without high taxes. High taxes as well cause rebellion. Case in point:
the high taxes levied against America by the British, as well as other strong factors, led to the
American revolution. He believes a government should be miserly with its own goods. That is
not to say you can t steal the goods of conquered countries and be liberal with them. Try not to be
too generous, however. A quote I once read says remember to pillage before you burn. This
reminds me a lot of the ideas of Machiavelli. According to him, one should say one thing just to
make the people happy, and do another. He believes one should only keep his word if it is for the
benefit of the nation. Six words: read my lips, no new taxes, come to mind. George H.W. Bush
said these words, but acted differently. Machiavellian? Maybe. Bush shortly after had the largest
tax hike in the nation s history to try to save us from the worst recession since the Great
Depression. I believe this is the sort of thing Machiavelli is talking about. Do whatever you can to
keep the people happy, but when it comes down to it, what makes them happy may not be best
for the state as a whole. He believes that people are generally bad and greedy, so they will take
whatever you give them. Lao Tzu is not exactly polar opposite of Machiavelli, although he is close.
He believes that man in a state of nature is generally good and not greedy. What makes man greedy
is overemphasis on material
Effects Of Eating Animals On Animals
Imagine a world with no plants. A world where animals starve because their food has been used
up. A world where everything is dying. An apocalyptic, barren world. This is the track the world is
on right now due to how many people are eating vegetables these days and vegetarians and vegans
are the worst offenders! The implications of eating vegetables and other plantlife are vast. As a
result, plant eaters are depleting the amount of oxygen made in our world by these plants which
means there is less oxygen for us humans to breathe. Eating these plants robs the animals of their
food. Animals need food too, and it is just selfish to pilfer their food to be healthy, or to protect the
animals. Eating meatafter the animals eat the plants is just as healthy as it is for us to eat the plants
directly. Eating plants is extremely inhumane. These plants are alive when people eat them. They
can feel everything that is happening. The quivering foliage live their lives in fear of the humans
that will pluck them from the earthand viciously chow down on their limbs. At least when humans
eat animals, the animals are already dead. But not plants. They feel every. Single. Bite. Pulling
parents away from children, individuals away from their community, and for what? Our own selfish
gain? Not only does eating plants hurt animals and the plants themselves, but it destroys our planet.
Most importantly, landscaping will appear horrible. There will be no more beautiful flowers because

Which, later on, would give us a valuable explanation. If the rockets with the smaller masses went
significant amounts farther than the rocket s with a much larger mass, that would validate my
hypothesis correct.

PROCEDURES

In the steps provided below, are the methods I used to create my rocket. However, the methods
listed may or may not apply to you. Please be aware.

THE BODY:
Materials needed: A 2L Pop bottle, a black marker, paint, a ruler, and a roll of masking tape. You can
also use Duct tape instead of masking tape if you prefer. Both works equally.

For the body of my rocket, I decided to cover it with masking tape. If I wanted to prove my
hypothesis correct, this would be the best way to prove my point.

Get your Pop bottle, and start measuring it.

It is much easier when you measure out your Pop bottle, so you know the exact and accurate
placements of wherever you decide to place your fins/cone.
Once you have measured out your Pop bottle, decide where you are going to wrap the masking tape
around.
For my sake, I decided to cover the center of the bottle with masking tape.

Target market and customers
One of our target markets is white collar employees with middle or high income. These people pay
more attention on quality of life and have a good consumption level. Another is business customers,
which need flowers to decorate the site of activities, parties, events or meetings.
Competition
However, there are some strong competitors in this market, especially Starbucks. It is the world s
largest coffee shop chain from America. Starbucks enjoyed a higher reputation and strong brand
effect in China. There are about 31 Starbucks in Suzhou alone, but some problems are observed in
the course of rapid extension. For instance, single and boring of the unchangeable products and
service is a big weakness. To the contrary, Seventh Heaven Café provides a combination service and
products to customers. It is a novel and creative form to attract people. Besides, high quality service
and elegant environment are our powerful points of attraction.
Sales and marketing strategy
To gain more customers, the price of our products is slightly below the Starbucks. Internet
advertising and posters are effective for publicity. Furthermore, we use push money and allowance to
motivate my employee to increase sales.
Critical risk factors
Despite of these, some risks still exist, for example some people are reluctant to try something new,
or we make losses at early stage. All of budgets are based on the business feasibility study, but there
are so

Enhancing phytoremediation of chromium stressed soils through plant growth promoting bacteria
Ilu Kumari Department of Biotechnology,IIT ROORKEE,ROORKEE

Abstract
Chromium which is a chemical element ,a metal,is toxic pollutant .Nowdays these are found to be
present in soils due to many human activities. It affects plant system and microorganisms that are
present in soil as well.Phytoremediation has emerged as a process to minimize or eliminate
chromium from chromium stressed soils, but this process takes long time.So when plant growth
promoting bacteria( PGPB) is used with this process as bioinoculant then it results into increased
plant growth and higher chromium reducing effects.PGPB via root architecture modification
increases chromium uptake,secretes metal
