Bullying And Adolescent Violent Behavior
1) What is the context of this study? (the big picture )
The study came from the need to determine the role that bullying plays on adolescent violent
behavior and delinquent acts. Most research has been done middle school bullying with very few
studies looking at high school bullying.
2) Is theory being tested? (may or may not be a dominant theory)
The theory that is being tested is that bullies and bully victims, people who have both committed and
been affected by bullying are more likely to commit crime and display criminal thinking.
3) What problem motivates the study? What is the research question? (Intro/RQ)
There has been no real study on psychopathy and criminal thinking because of a bullying. So, this
was an exploratory study to
The Mainstay Of The Trojans And Lycians
With these words he put heart and soul into them all. And now the Trojans would have been
routed and driven back into Ilius, had not Priam s son Helenus, wisest of augurs, said to Hector
and Aeneas, Hector and Aeneas, you two are the mainstays of the Trojans and Lycians, for you
are foremost at all times, alike in fight and counsel; hold your ground here, and go about among
the host to rally them in front of the gates, or they will fling themselves into the arms of their
wives, to the great joy of our foes. Then, when you have put heart into all our companies, we will
stand firm here and fight the Danaans however hard they press us, for there is nothing else to be
done. Meanwhile do you, Hector, go to the city and tell our mother what is happening.
Silver Dbq Essay
Many valuable goods for centuries were traded through out all of the world. In between the mid
16th century and early 18th century, silver became a very valuable item that had effected the world
and changed it economically and socially. Economically, in documents 4 and 7 it explains how
silver flowed and the business of silveritself. Socially, even though in business silver was just
business, it brought greed, shown in documents 1,6, and 8 to the people and government and lead to
suffering to the people as stated in documents 2,3, and 5. Documents 4 and 7 both show how silver
was traded and how silver, and the price, flowed through out the world. Document 4 shows the trade
interaction between Portugal, Japan, and China. Silver was worth... Show more content on

Document 2 is explaining how so much silver was spent on Asian commodities. A lot of silver was
given to Asia, such as in China and India, and as they were making business well, the business in
Spain, Britain, Japan and other countries were struggling. All their business was going to other
countries . So businesses have less and have to charge less, until they barely had anything to get by,
and eventually run out of business. Leaving people unemployed and less money flow through out the
inner economies of nations. Tomás de Mercado, who was a Spanish scholar in 1571 wrote to
show that Asian commodities were going to destroy Spain, to hurt the economy greatly, and it
did once they had no silver left for themselves. Document 3 states how even though the harvest is
poor, grain is cheap because there is not enough flowing silver for the customers. Which means
there was less money to pay the workers, so less workers, so less land that could be worked on
and harvested, all because the government wanted only silver and nothing else, when the
government took all the silver already. Less food means more starvation, famine, and death. This
did not only occur in China, but everywhere the government only wanted silver. This was written
by Wang Xijue, a Ming dynasty court official in 1593 to report to the emperor. He wanted the
emperor to not have the government tax peop,e do much on silver when the middle class
basically has less than what they are being taxed and they need it to buy food because businesses
need silver because they are tied as well. He wanted it to be more fair for the businesses and
people. Document 5 talks about before a persn could exchange goods for other goods, but it
became straight silver for service and goods only over time. Out of nowhere a system was changed,
without warning or anything. And to adapt is hard during change, especially if not prepared

What Is The Theme Of Courage By Anne Sexton
Karely Colon
Period 5
April 25, 2015
Poem Analysis Courage is a feeling, perhaps everyone has felt before, even if it wasn t
acknowledged. People refer to courage as an act of stepping out ones comfort zone, putting any fear
a person may have to the side and overcoming something that needs everything inside to do. Anne
Sexton, a confessional poet depicts courage in all forms in her poem Courage. Sexton was very
open and shared painful details in her poems. Some are against it and others would appreciate her
work. Life necessitates courage to overcome the challenges of everyday living. This poem gradually
leads to an acceptance of death after a life of courageous moments. Sexton helps one visualize
something as small as a baby, who is learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stanza is a transition into the life of someone who is at first suffering from great despair.
Sexton describes it as, Getting a transfusion from the fire / picking the scabs off your heart / then
wringing it out like a sock (29 31). Transfusion from fire, can be interpreted as the hurt a person
feels when one is suffering. Lines 32 37 then transition to someone trying to relieve their sorrow
and mend their scars. It takes courage from one to move on from a heart wrecking event. Sexton
then writes, It woke to the wings of the roses / and was transformed (37 38). A person shows
courage when they can take their sorrow and pain and turn it into something greater, possibly a
motivation or a way to help
Psychological Explanations Of Prejudice And Prejudice
Prejudice and discrimination are two of the biggest conflicts and problems that today s society and
humanity is facing. Prejudice is defined as holding an unfavourable opinion or attitude towards a
specific social group and its members. When one social group hates another group of people so
significantly that they can torture, murder and harass innocent members of society this is a serious
concern. In this essay I m going to discuss psychologys explanations of prejudice and why these
attitudes are formed. Many crimes are committed because of prejudice opinions and attitudes these
are known as hate crimes. In 2016 17 there we 80,393 hate crimeoffences reported compared with
62,518 in 2015 16 that is a 29% increase . With the home secretary saying its been noted that hate...

This notion is the main foundation of Dollard s associates explanation of scapegoating, prejudice and
intergroup aggression. The theory of frustration aggression also identifies a huge obstacle from
research indicating that frustration is neither necessary nor sufficient for aggression. Aggression can
occur when frustration is absent, and frustration does not necessarily always result in aggression.
(Bandura 1973; Berkowitz 1962) Consequently this hypothesis can only explain a limited subsection
of intergroup aggression. Other explanations are needed to explain different forms of intergroup
aggression or prejudice and intergroup aggression. To try and save the theory Berkowitz proposed
three major changes to attempt the resurrection of this theory. The first change being that the
probability of frustration induced aggression being expressed was increased and motivated by the
presence of certain situational cues to aggression, this would include past or present associations
with a group (scapegoat) with a conflict or dislike. The second change being the explanation that it is
not objective frustration that instigates
