Organisational Development And Organizational Development
The Organisational development article I have chosen gives context to Organisational
development theories from early teachings to more recent academic research highlighting
disconnect among OD researchers. The OD article is from the journal of applied behavioural
science. Literature review explains shortcoming among OD research. I chose the OD article for
the in depth analysis of this subject from early theories to more recent models of practice. The
author discusses the implications for researchers, practitioners, and teaching of OD as a subject.
The authors of the OD article aims to give an in depth analysis of which is of greater scope which
is discussed in textbooks, journal articles and methods of early OD practitioners. The OD... Show

The OD article and the change article used literature review process to construct an argument based
on their own research and research of other academics who study in the fields of Organisational
development and change management. Both articles use a philosophical example to illustrate
discourse among practitioners.

Strengths:
The Bushe s Marshak article(2009) is a well rounded analysis and has own previously published
peer reviewed articles referenced. Bushe (2009) cited previous work on appreciative inquiry which
demonstrates expertise in in change and development in organisations(Bushe Kassam 2005). Bushes
research of dialogic OD has been considered to give clarity by linking modern OD theory in a
coherent way (Bartunek Woodman 2015).

Armenakis harris (2009) have developed a change model namely the five beliefs, which facilitates
employees motivation to change(Jaros, S 2010). Employee focus regarding the implications of
change was discussed, this issue was raised when Armenakis harris(2009) discussed contextual
analysis of an organisations redness to change(van den Heuvel, Demerouti, Bakker, 2014). The
authors of the change article discuses context of ethical change and belief this is an important
consideration made by producing the five beliefs model incorporating readiness to change. The

The Dissension In Daniel J Boorstin s The Decline Of...
Daniel J Boorstin, in this excerpt from The Decline of Radicalism, is set on the idea that dissension
is the cause of conflict, not disagreement. He argues that dissension leads to violence rather than just
debate, and as a result, produces more strife and struggle. Although well intentioned, his lack of a
developed argument and failure to elaborate emphasizes Boorstin s failure to discern that
disagreements play a larger role in the formation of struggles.
The Civil War, caused by the split of the United States, is considered the bloodiest battle on American
soil. The confrontation however, was spurred by disagreement. The North and the South saw
themselves as great defenders of a just cause. There was no minority, both sides quotation mark

Dissension, not agreement, keeps our own originality from becoming bland and indiscernible.
Motorcycle gangs for example, are created because the motorists feel apart from others and want to
identify with people like themselves. The ability to connect and learn from similar people develops
their own individuality and sense of self. The states of the united States also demonstrate the power
of division. The United States is not like other nations, it s power is regulated by federalism, the
distribution of power to the states. Sectionalism and competition between the separate states, despite
causing citizens to feel apart from others, is not a great problem with America today. Instead the
divisions encourage growth of the separate yet united nation their competition and pride. This
dissension has not become a great problem with America today. It has provided solace and relief to
those involved to fall back upon, rather than splintering the

Fortunately, there may be an answer. It wouldn t be fair to charge every person equally for the
search and rescue fees, because only a modest amount of people would be able to afford it. Instead,
if we charged each person for the damages by taking an equal percentage out of their yearly salary,
everyone would be able to afford it, and each person has to suffer
Mesopotamians Comparison Essay
The Babylonians are located in modern Iraq and are also known as the Mesopotamians.
Mesopotamia means in between the rivers and the Babylonians were in between of Euphrates and
Tigris rivers. The Babylonians took over the Fertile Crescent and transmitted their culture there. The
people had surplus of food that could be traded. Just as the Babylonians had a great geography and
were powerful so were the Hittites. The Hittites were located where modern Turkey is. The Hittites
as well as the Babylonians had a surplus of food. Though the Babylonians were mesopotamians the
Hittites conquered mesopotamia. While the Babylonians and Hittites had many similarities and
differences so did the Sumerians. The Sumerians occupied southwest of Asia though the Persian

The Babylonian s gave women right just as men had rights. Their empire spoke the language
Akkadian. There was plenty of farmers within the society to survive. While the Babylonians had
many society rights the Hittites did too. The Hittites had a great society ideas that lasted. The
Hittites also believed in women s rights and would occasionally help out and be the King once in
awhile. The Hittites also had an education as well as the Babylonians. Their education consisted of
cuneiform writing and examine religious text. While the Babylonians and Hittites had many things
in common the Sumerians had many differences. The Sumerians did not believe in women s rights,
they prohibited them to have an education. The Sumerians had a specific order of people to
maintain their society powerful which was: Pharaoh s, high priests, nobles, lower priests, merchants,
scholars, peasants, farmers, and slaves. There was no equality between the empire of the Sumerians.
Just like every country has their own set of rules to maintain power the Babylonians, Hittites, and
Sumerians had their own rules of society to keep
Analysis Of Tyco International Ltd.
Tyco International Ltd. is a security systems company incorporated in Ireland, with United States
operational headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey (Tyco International (US) Inc.). Tyco International
is composed of two major business segments, Security Solutions and Fire Protection
Prior to July 1992, their net profit was $95 million, the return on sales was 3.1%, and the stock price
was $4.30. In July 1992, Dennis Kozlowski was appointed CEO of Operations.
Kozlowski knew Tyco from the bottom up, and stated that he was determined to make it the
greatest company of the next century. Because of Kozlowski s success the board rewarded

Also in 2002, the New York State Bank Department observed large sums of money moving in and
out of Tyco s accounts. What made this finding unusual was that the funds were transferred into
Kozlowski s personal accounts. Kozlowski was caught in the act and was facing jail time and
having to pay over $100 million in restitutions and back taxes.
Learning that he was about to be indicted for tax evasion, Kozlowski resigned as CEO on June 2,
2002. On June 3, he was arrested, but the scandal had barely begun. In September of that year,
Dennis Kozlowski and Mark Swartz, who also had resigned, were indicted on thirty eight felony
counts for allegedly stealing $170 million from Tyco and fraudulently selling an additional $430
million in stock options. Among other allegations, Kozlowski was accused of taking $242
million from a program intended to help Tyco employees buy company stock. Kozlowski was
found guilty on twenty two of twenty three counts of grand larceny, conspiracy, and falsifying
business records, as well as violating business law. The judge ordered both men to pay $134 million
to Tyco. Kozlowski was also ordered to pay a $70 million fine. Kozlowski s jail time was about
seven years in a state facility.
This situation was harmful to the company, to the government, and to the integrity of the ex CEO
and ex CFO. It damaged the company s reputation, resulting in a negative impact on its stock price,
performance, and other executives
Research Paper On Mama Bear
One day, deep in the woods there lived a family of bears. Papa bear, a big great bear, Mama bear, a
sweet medium bear, and a baby bear named Junior. One early morning, Mama bear woke up and
saw her family and looked at them lovingly, then decided it was time to prepare breakfast. Stepping
downstairs as quietly as possible, she set up the table and made their favorite food, porridge. When
she finished cooking, Mama bear called her familydownstairs for breakfast. As they started to eat

while the story red riding hood wants to make her grandmother better. The wolf in the movie at the
beginning was The Caregiver but uses that to mask his true nature of being the ruler who only seeks
power while the story showed the wolf as tricky and deceiving. In the movie the
Causes Of The Birmingham Bombing
One of the most remarkable events during the Civil Rights Movement was the Birmingham
Church Bombing. This event took place on an early Sunday morning in 1963, just before the
early service started at the Sixteenth Street Baptist church in Birmingham, Alabama. Nineteen
sticks of dynamite had been placed beneath the church steps in the basement below; as a result,
four young African American girls were tragically killed and others were severely injured
(Dabkowski 1). The malevolent Klu Klux Klan was to blame for this horrific event. It was an act
of pure evil and racism against African Americans. This tragedy left many African Americans
heartbroken and angry with the US government. Between the mourning for the young lives lost
and the frustration that the African Americans felt as second class citizens, this event left a
devastating mark in the Civil Rights Movement. On the morning of September 15, 1963, the
devastating event known as the Birmingham Bombing took place. Eleven year old Sarah Collins
and her fourteen year old sister, Addie Mae Collins had decided to hide out in the ladies room,
which was in the church s basement (Dabkowski 1). Shortly after, three other young girls joined
them around 10:15 in the morning. Cynthia Wesley, Carol Denise McNair, and Carole Robertson
had no idea what they were in for by joining the two sisters, instead of staying in Sunday school.
After a few minutes of playing, as Addie Mae Collins reached out to tie a sash on McNair s dress,
