Due To The Transaction Costs Being Lower Through Online
Due to the transaction costs being lower through online channels allows for companies to offer
individual products that were previously only sold as part of bundles. The advent of online stores
such as Apple s iTunes music meant music was now sold in the form of individual tracks as
opposed to the previous model of the singular album. The ready availability form of singles, raises
the question as to whether a number of songs on an album still matters, does it mean the track
listing becomes a thing of the past and can hit songs now be relied upon to generate profits as
opposed to the declining album format?
A bundle (album) can be designed to appeal to consumers who would otherwise buy only one or

Steve Jobs claimed that Apple s 0.99 solutions would be the model for selling and distributing digital
music files online in post Napster world (Jobs,2003)
Digital formats promote the disaggregation of music (Bakos 1997, Drew 2005)
Disaggregation carries the challenges for the overall integrity of the album as the most leading form
of music products. It also allows for different types of showcasing and retailing music in the way
that reaggregates into new forms of commodified packages.
Radiohead s initial resistance to appearing on the iTunes store was because the band refused to sell
songs individually, because it wanted to keep the album, as an artistic statement, whole (Van
Buskirk, 2007)
The splintering of music has, in turn, created a multitude of repackaging options for music.
Playlists haven t displaced the album, but they have however relegated it to just of the many ways in
which people choose to consume music.
The fundamental difference between digital downloads and physical goods. In terms of digital, the
consumer is not limited to tracks that the label decides to issue as singles. Every track is available
for individual download. The numbers overwhelmingly show that consumers prefer being able to
buy the only tracks they want.

Evolution Of Database Management Systems
EVOLUTION OF DBMS
1.INTRODUCTION
As technology is rapidly emerging and changing, organizations are quickly adapting to it, and with
this technology and software advancement includes database management systems. Database
management systems have become a crucial tool in every organization. It will be rather more
surprising to see a company not using DBMS in this age. As organizations emerge and grow by
years, they have numerous data sets to handle and database management systems is a software
application which helps organizations perform this mundane task easily. It collects, organizes the
databases and also stores and performs functions on the databases making it easier for users to
access. Now days, an organization wouldn t survive without data and information. The way this data
is important for an organization, to manage this data is equally important. Database management
systems has become a part of every field right from schools, libraries, medical centers, airlines,
chemical plants etcetera. With the effective use of database management systems software in
organizations, it comes with advantages and disadvantages which will be later explained in the
findings section of this paper.
The research would concentrate more on how database management system applications have
progressed since the past decade. The research objective is to study the evolution of DBMS and learn
about the emerging alternative applications for this traditional system. The positive and negative

Prothetics Making Humans Robotic
Robots have long fascinated the minds of humans. From bionic men to exoskeletons, robots have
long filled the big screens and small screens. But, these technologies have only recently been
created through prosthetics. The future of prosthetics will combine body, mind and machine to fix
the broken. The goal of the science of prosthetics is to restore the independence of amputees and
allow them to do everyday tasks necessary for life that we all take for granted. In the movie Star
Wars Episode V, Luke Skywalker replaced his amputated arm with a perfect bionic replacement.
During that time, replicating limbs seemed very unlikely.
However, now thirty years later the ideas are now a reality and the advances of this field are now
show cased in what America calls the Bionic Man . The Bionic Man has become the ultimate
showcase of the advances of prosthetics with a working heart, set of lungs and even a human face.
Rex, as they call him, is a million dollar bionic man that was built using all the latest technology
from around the world, which shows how technology is now used to replace missing or damaged
parts of the human body. The incredible bionic man is the world s first attempt at a fully functioning
human robot with organic body parts. Rex can see, walk, talk, grasp objects and hear. Not only this,
but has a fully functioning circulatory system with a heart, lungs, spleen, pancreas and artificial blood
.
To begin, the Bionic Man has one of the most innovative
Literary Analysis Of Roman Fever
In Roman Fever by Edith Wharton s, Grace Ansley and Alida Slade begin to discuss their past and
present with one another revealing some skeletons in the closet. Wharton wanted the readers to focus
on the betrayal from a so called friend Mrs. Ansley. Furthermore, Wharton wanted the readers to
think about deceit in the story by actively misleading Mrs. Slade. In the end, what was noted to be
miserable, gains notoriety by revealing the ultimate secret.
The setting of Roman Fever takes place in a Roman restaurant terrace. Surrounded by beautiful
sunsets and prior history, It tends to take a toll on both women that leads to a great deal of emotion.
As young aged women in Rome, young Grace was always sweet and quiet. Alida was engaged to
Delphin. Suspecting that her friend may have feelings for her fiancé, Alida wrote a misleading letter
to Grace, requesting that they meet at the Colosseum, signed with Delphin Slades initials. However,
the temperatures near the Forum and Colosseum at night can be brutal, and young Grace is liable to
become ill. It ultimately led to Grace and Alida s friendship to deteriorate.
One can find it rather difficult to believe that these two women were actually childhood
companions. They appear to be the opposite of one another. Mrs. Slade, who is described as fuller,
and higher in color, with a small determined nose supported with vigorous black eyebrows,
(Wharton) seems to be as arrogant and envious of Mrs. Ansley. Mrs. Ansley, however, was
Symptoms and Causes of Heart Attacks Essay
Symptoms and Causes of Heart Attacks

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) is the death of heart muscle due to the loss of blood supply.
Usually, the loss of blood supply is caused by a complete blockage of a coronary artery by a blood
clot. A coronary artery is an artery that supplies blood to the heart muscle. Death of the heart muscle
causes chest pain and electrical instability of the heart muscle tissue. Electrical instability of the
heart causes ventricular fibrillation (chaotic electrical disturbance). Orderly transmission of electrical
signals in the heart is important for the regular beating (pumping) of the heart. A heart undergoing
ventricular fibrillation quivers, and can not pump or deliver oxygenated blood to the ... Show more

Therefore, prompt CPR and rapid paramedic response can improve the survival chances from a heart
attack.
A heart attack is caused by the formation of a blood clot on a cholesterol plaque located on the
inner wall of an artery to the heart (coronary artery). Cholesterol is a fatty chemical that is part of
the outer lining of cells in the body. Cholesterol plaque is the formation of a hard, thick substance
on the artery walls which is caused by deposits of cholesterol on the artery walls; a process that
begins in the late teens. Over time, the accumulation of cholesterol plaque causes thickening of the
artery walls and narrowing of the arteries; a process called atherosclerosis. Plaque accumulation can
be accelerated by smoking, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and diabetes. Ultimately,
atherosclerosis causes significant narrowing of the coronary arteries. During exercise or excitement,
the narrowed coronary arteries cannot increase the blood supply to meet the increased oxygen
demand of the heart muscle.
Heart muscle that is starved of blood oxygen, a condition called ischemia causes chest pain
(angina). Chest pain that occurs with exercise is called exertional angina. Exertional angina is
reversible, and subsides with rest. Occasionally, for unknown reasons, the surface of the cholesterol
plaque can become sticky, causing blood clotting. When a blood clot forms on top of this plaque, the
artery becomes completely blocked, causing death of the heart
The Role of the Forest in Midsummer Night s Dream and As...
William Shakespeare often compares imagination and reality in his plays. He explores this
comparison through the role and purpose of the forests in Midsummer Night s Dream and As
You Like It. Midsummer Night s Dream focuses on imagination and escape, while As You like It
focuses on reality and self discovery. Imagination plays a key role in Midsummer Night s Dream.
Puck, a fairy servant and friend of Oberon watches six Athenian men practice a play to be
performed for Theseus wedding in the forest. Puck turns Nick Bottom s head into that of an ass.
The other players see Bottom and run away screaming. He follows them saying, Sometime a horse I

Garnet Paper History
1. Design Brief: To design and manufacture....
The design brief for the timber tray is to design and manufacture a rectangular timber tray where it
is used to carry plates and cutlery for example morning breakfast in bed or maybe to carry drinks or
tea to a table.

2. Drawings: This may include freehand sketches and orthographic drawings.

3. Material List: This is an outline of the materials you used to manufacture your project.

To able to complete the project of the timber tray materials were used to manufacture a perfect
rectangular timber tray. The materials involved are garnet paper (80, 120 and 180), PVA glue,
plywood, pacific maple, 20mm and 12mm nails, putty and linseed oil.

These pieces were then nail together and a template was used to create the curved lines for the
timber tray and it showed how the pacific maple would end up like. The two piece of woods were
then trimmed with a jigsaw and further trimmed with the band saw. The pacific maples were then
sanded to remove the marks created from the band saw. After that, two shorter pieces were
chosen and the same steps were applied. The two pieces were nailed and using a template the
handles of the timber tray were drawn. The drill press was then used to drill holes into the two
pieces and then the handles were made from using a jigsaw. The jigsaw sawed off the wood in
marked area from the template. The pair of handles were sanded to take of any sharp edges and
to make the handle smooth. Both pairs of wood were taken apart so there would be four pieces of
wood, two long and two short. Then the finger joint were made using the finger jointing machine
(trimmer router) were when cutting the joint for the shorter pieces, the end of the longer piece
was put up against the shorter piece and then that was drilled to create the finger joints. Once this
process was done, the four pieces were joined up to create the timber frame. This frame was then
glued together using PVA glue. A plywood base was then picked and the frame was marked on
the plywood using a pencil. The base and the frame were put together with a thin layer of PVA
glue and then reinforced with twelve millimeter nails. The base had four nails along the length and
three nails on the width. Nails weren t nailed in the corners because it could nail into the joint,
which would separate the joint and create a gap in the joint. Once the glue had dried the timber
tray was put on the linisher and the timber tray was sanded to remove bits created by the linisher.
After that, linseed oil was applied to the timber tray. Once the oiling process was
