Third: The Statistics (Module 10 &11)
1. A spinner with four equal sections of blue, green, yellow, and red is spun 100
times. It lands on blue 14 times, green 10 times, yellow 8 times, and red 68
times. What is the relative frequency of landing on red? Green?

watermelon. The ice can be served plain, mixed with ice cream, or as a drink.
Using an organized list or table, what is the sample space of possible outcomes?

Revision Sheet: Geometry Concepts

1. Vertical and Adjacent Angles

• Vertical Angles: Formed when two lines intersect, creating

opposite angles. These angles are always equal.

Ex. 2x = 120º

• Adjacent Angles: Two angles that share a common vertex

and side, Their Sum is 180° if they are on the same line.

Ex. 5x + 95º = 180 º

Key Property:

Vertical angles are equal, But adjacent angles add up to form

180 º if they formed straight angle.

11
2. Complementary and Supplementary Angles

• Complementary Angles: Two angles whose sum is 90°.

Examples:

• 40 º + 50 º = 90 º (Complementary)

The complementary angle for this angle = 40 º

• Supplementary Angles: Two angles whose sum is 180°.

Example:

• 160 º +20 º =180 º (Supplementary)

• The Supplementary angle for this angle = 20 º

12
Classifying Triangles

By Angles:

• Acute Triangle: All angles < 90°

• Right Triangle: One angle = 90°

• Obtuse Triangle: One angle > 90°

By Sides:

• Equilateral Triangle: All sides are equal.

• Isosceles Triangle: Two sides are equal.

• Scalene Triangle: No sides are equal.

13
The Sum of the Angles of Any Triangle

• The sum of the three interior angles of a triangle is always

180°.

x
• If a triangle has angles x, y, and z, then:
<X + <Y + <Z = 180 º

z y

Scale Drawing

• Scale Drawing: A proportional representation of an object.

Example:
o Scenario: A map has a scale of 1 cm : 100 meters.

o Question: If a road on the map measures 4.5 cm,

what is its actual length?

Map: Actual:

Circumference and Area of Circles

Remember

d for diameter

r for radius
𝟐𝟐
π = 3.14. or
𝟕

Circumference Formula:

C = 2 π r. or C=πd .

Area Formula:
D=10 cm

A=πr2

Example:

• If d= 10 cm ,then r = 5 then:

• C = 2 π × 5 =10 π,
C = 10 x 3.14
C = 31.4 cm

Tr. Mai
• A= π ×5 = 25 π ,

A= 25x 13.4= 78.54 cm2
