Asymmetric Warfare Is An Inherently Relational Concept
The asymmetry in asymmetric warfare is an inherently relational concept. It refers to a relative
dissimilarity between opponents in battle, derived from a difference in relational strength amid
warring sides. This asymmetry has tended to be in terms of status and organization; means and
resources, goals and objectives; and strategies and tactics. The relationship between the belligerents
in today s conflicts varies in many tactical, strategic and operational levels, which has come to be
perceived as changing warfare. This popular perception is that with the rise of asymmetric warfare,
conventional warfare had transformed from a customary and symmetric exercise into an irregular,
avant garde, asymmetric experience. In contrast to this perspective, the main argument here is that
asymmetric warfare is not a new genus of warthat has risen in the twentieth century as a distinct
revolution in military affairs, but rather, asymmetric warfare is a perennial characteristic of warfare,
or set of distinct conflict dynamics in warfare that occasionally surface out of asymmetric strength
between opponents in war.

At the foundation of this essay is a question calling for the analysis of the rise of asymmetric
warfare . However, after analyzing the history of asymmetric warfare and the changes and behaviors
that have taken place through this time as this essay will do my perspective is critical of the
assumption in the question that asymmetric warfare has risen . Warfare, in
The Company President Of Peregrine Trucking
The company President of Peregrine Trucking has decided to make saving fuel, a primary focus on
the continuous efforts to become leaner and more efficient. Any type of fuel savings will have a
direct impact to the bottom line of profitability. This additional income can be better utilized towards
additional investments that will lead to sustainability and the goal of having a green supply chain.
Strict government regulations, customer requirements, pressure from environmentalists, and
requests by the general public have made being conscientious of creating an eco friendly business
necessary. Several key process improvements and equipment upgrades have been identified that will
assist Peregrine Trucking in reaching the goal of continuous improvement on fuel savings. These
investments will not only impact fuel, but other added benefits will be realized as well. The speed
of service will be improved in addition to betterfocus on customer service and more reliable
equipment. The following proposed ideas are strongly suggested to obtain the desired outcome of
fuel savings: phase out the current trucks in use to more modern fuel efficient models, improve upon
the plan for scheduled maintenance, implement maximum allowable speed limits by installing
limiting devices, invest in new technology to better utilize the fleet and reduce the amount of wasted
time and space, and changing company policy in regards to rules and employee training.

American Ripper Summary
Recently an eight part documentary series called American Ripper aired on the History Channel.
In the series the grandson of H. H. Holmes, Jeff Mudgett, sets out to prove that H. H. Holmes was
also Jack the Ripper. While the theory is certainly interesting, some viewers are skeptical as there
are several differences in the psychological profiles of the two killers. After reading about some
profiling techniques utilized by the F.B.I., I was curious to see how similar the killers were. The
F.B.I developed a method of profiling where killers are classified as either organized or
disorganized. Two notable characteristics of a disorganized killer include leaving the body in plain
view and sudden violence to the victim. In contrast, organized killers

The Violence Against Women Act of 1994

John Kingdon s Garbage Can model argues that the policymaking process consists of three streams
problems, politics, and policies that flow independently from one another. When these three streams
meet it creates a window of opportunity and public policy is a result. The Violence Against Women
Act of 1994 (VAWA) is an example of the Kingdon Garbage Can model . The VAWA was passed
as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 in recognition of the severity
of crimes associated with domestic violence and sexual assault. It was the first federal legislation that
addressed violence uniquely targeted at women and their children.
The Violence Against Womens Act of 1994 provided $1.6 billion towards the prosecution and
investigation of violent crimes against women and it also did a series of things that helped to
improve criminal justice response to violence against women. The act strengthened federal penalties
for repeat sex offenders and created rape shield laws that prevented offenders from using a victim
past sexual experience in a trial of sexual assault. The VAWA required that protection orders be
enforced and recognized everywhere in the United States. It increased the rates of prosecution,
conviction and sentencing of offenders and funded the training for 500,000 law enforcement each
year to ensure that the police who respond

The money thus collected is then invested in capital market instruments such as shares, debentures
and other securities.

1.3 Mutual Fund Operation Flow Chart

In a mutual fund, the fund manager, who is also known as the portfolio manager, trades the fund s
underlying securities, realizing capital gains or losses, and collects the dividend or interest income.
The investment proceeds are then passed along to the individual investors. The value of a share of
the mutual fund, known as the net asset value per share (NAV), is calculated daily based on the total
value of the fund divided by the number of shares currently issued and outstanding. Sources:

Analysis Of Hills Like White Elephants And Good...
In Hills Like White Elephants , and Good People Ernest Hemingway and David Foster Wallace
identify the political and moral problems of abortion and how it effects on loving affairs. Even
though the characters in their story share similar behaviors, shown by the dominant males promoting
the operation to remove an unborn child, the females who value even though they face some
difficulties of child rearing, as well as the two couples refusal to discuss conflicts with each other,
both authors have different conclusions resulting from the sharp differences in setting, diction, and
role of religion; Hemingway indicates loveis bare and dull as well as presented by woman s
submissive role to the male s prerogative while Wallace... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire story is lengthened out between the time it takes Sheri to turn and Lane to look up at
her, the perspective of the story seems to be taking place from the the inside of the protagonist s
head, who is recalling events that have recently happened so he is able to choose whether or not he
is able to have the strength to accept Sheri s decision. Hemingway s and Wallace s geographical
imagery symbolizes the couple s reluctance to simply address their decisions on the abortions. In
Hills Like White Elephant , Jig compares the mountain to white elephants which literally means a
burden that is difficult to communicate and share; the white elephants figuratively represents the
problem about the abortion (Hemingway 924). In Good People , Wallace implicitly states that Lane
and Sheri s pregnancy is half hidden from their friends and the community , while also
acknowledging the dire situation of their relationship is like downed tree with exposed roots even
during the beautiful season of spring grass is () green and the air suffused with honeysuckle and
lilacs (Wallace 927). Also, Lanes posture shows she has a feeling of anxiety, reluctance and shame

Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic Executive Summary
A significant volunteer experience that augmented my leadership skills and expanded my
understanding of medicine was at the Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic sponsored by the Seafarer s
Ministry. The Seafarer s Ministry provides spiritual, emotional, and social support for the
undocumented foreign fishermen docked at Honolulu Harbor. The clinic began with few volunteers
and two doctors who provided medical care to undocumented foreign fishermen from a box of
supplies out of a truck. This expanded my capacity to understanding, to humbly accept circumstances
and encouraged me to practice medicinewith culturally sensitivity.
As a volunteer, I scribed, organized the stock medications, and mentored incoming volunteers on the
clinic processes. With
Literary Devices In A Small Place
Gentle waves, lush greenery, and sun soaked beaches, Antigua embodies your ideal holiday
destination. But Jamaica Kincaid turns your paradise upside down in her new memoir A Small
Place. Using her pen as a sword, Kincaid slashes Antigua s façade of perfection into shreds and
presses the blade against the throats of tourism, colonialism and corruption. Many denounce Kincaid
s latest book as an over attack, her gaze too penetrating and intimidating. The tone of voice
continuously shifts throughout the memoir, starting from sardonic, manifesting into anger, to
slowly conclude in melancholy. Though particular accusations, such as when the narrator cruelly
rejects you as an ugly thing , may upset the readers, Kincaid purposely provokes reactions of
defensiveness and guilt to challenge us... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The autobiographical novel maintains its poetic form through repetition, alliteration, and rhythm. As
Kincaid writes, ...for no real sunset could look like that; no real seawater could strike that many
shades of blue at once; no real sky could be that shade of blue... This charm lulls and immobilizes the
reader, such that Kincaid s narration graduates from the victim of such transformative power to a
practitioner in her own right. The mystical form powerfully mixes with historical content, opening
up new possibilities for discussions that extend the political argument beyond the metaphysical.
Indeed, the deceptive simplicity of diction and the finely controlled syntax examine Antigua s
clouded process of existence with incisive clarity. An emotionally truthful, intimate, and poignant
piece, A Small Place demonstrates the author s conflicting attitudes of love and disappointment
towards her birthplace. As Covi praises, Reading A Small Place is like looking at the sea: the
message is carried by the tide, but it is impossible to say upon which particular
