PRACTICAL TEST (2.5 HOURS)

1. Using AutoCAD, you are given the following instructions with respect to the
attached Figure 1:

i. Recreate the provided beam details in the model space and generate the
drawing output in the paper space. Include dimensions and relevant
information within a standard A4-size title block, ensuring an appropriate
regular scale for the best fit.
ii. Generate a monochrome plot of the paper space output using the specified
plot settings and consolidate it into a single PDF file.
iii. Produce an audio-video recording illustrating the drafting process, with the
camera consistently focused on you. Commence by introducing yourself,
including your name, metric number, and course group. Proceed to share
your AutoCAD screen and offer a detailed, step-by-step commentary on the
drafting process. Address key elements such as drawing objectives,
functions employed, and their specific purposes. Utilize platforms such as
MS Team Meet, Google Meet, Camtasia, etc., to facilitate this presentation.

Here is the checklist for submission of Q1. Please ensure all items are organized
in a folder before uploading. Rename the folder with your name:

AutoCAD data file of version 2022 or below containing generated drawings

of item i.
Pdf file containing compiled plot results of item ii.
Audio-video recording file or a link to the file for item iii. Alternatively, if you
chose the second option, please send the Windows shortcut file to the web
address or its equivalent.

Figure 1 (Beam Details)

(This drawing is not drawn to scale. DO NOT trace over.)

2. Using AutoCAD, you are given the following instructions with respect to the
attached Figure 2:

i. Create a three-dimensional model of the precast sewer manhole depicted in

the attached orthographic projection (Figure 2) using SE isometric view in
the model space. Subsequently, generate the drawing output in the paper
space, incorporating dimensions and relevant information within a standard
A4-size title block, using a suitable regular scale for the best fit.
ii. Recreate the provided orthographic projection of the object using the
generated model, employing AutoCAD's Viewbase function. Generate the
drawing output in a separate paper space, incorporating dimensions and
relevant information within a standard A4-size title block, using a suitable
regular scale for the best fit.
iii. Generate a monochrome plot for each of the paper space outputs, adhering
to the specified plot settings. Compile these plots into a single PDF file.
iv. Produce an audio-video recording that comprehensively outlines the drafting
process, ensuring the camera remains focused on you throughout.
Commence by introducing yourself, including your name, metric number, and
course group. Proceed to share your AutoCAD screen, delivering a step-by-
step commentary on the drafting procedure. Address key aspects such as
drawing intention, functions employed, and their respective purposes. Utilize
tools such as MS Team Meet, Google Meet, Camtasia, or similar platforms
for this purpose.

Here is the checklist for submission. Please ensure all items are organized in a
folder before uploading. Rename the folder with your name:

AutoCAD data file of version 2022 or below containing generated drawings

of item i & ii.

3. Using AutoCAD, you are given the following instructions with respect to the
attached contour file:

i. Utilize the provided contour file to craft a comprehensive three-dimensional

depiction of the hill's surface profile. This involves transforming the contour
data into a visually informative representation that accurately communicates
elevation changes across the terrain. Employ AutoCAD's Network Surface
function to integrate contour lines, constructing an authentic and detailed
model that adeptly captures the undulations and variations in the hill's height.
Enhance the realism by using the SE isometric view within the model space
and applying the Bluegrass material to the surface.
ii. Generate a rendered image of the created surface profile, setting the
resolution to 600x800 pixels and utilizing the High render preset. Save the
output in image file format, such as JPG or PNG.
iii.

1. Using AutoCAD, you are given the following instructions with respect to the
attached Figure 1:

i. Recreate the provided pile cap details in the model space and generate the
drawing output in the paper space.

2. Using AutoCAD, you are given the following instructions with respect to the
attached Figure 2:

i. Create a three-dimensional model of the road kerb depicted in the attached

orthographic projection (Figure 2) using SE isometric view in the model
space.
ii. Using AutoCAD's Viewbase function and a suitable regular scale for the best
fit, generate an isometric projection of the object in the paper space.
Incorporate dimensions and relevant information within a standard A4-sized
title block.
iii. Using the created model and AutoCAD's Viewbase function, generate the
provided orthographic projection of the object. Output the drawing in a
separate paper space, incorporating dimensions and relevant information
within a standard A4-sized title block, using a suitable regular scale for best
fit.
iv. Generate a monochrome plot for each of the paper space outputs, adhering
to the specified plot settings. Compile these plots into a single PDF file.

Employ AutoCAD's Loft Surface
function to integrate contour lines, constructing an authentic and detailed
model that adeptly captures the undulations and variations in the hill's height.
Enhance the realism by using the SE isometric view within the model space
and applying the Bluegrass material to the surface.
ii. Generate a rendered image of the created surface profile, setting the
resolution to 600x800 pixels and utilizing the High render preset. Save the
output in image file format, such as JPG or PNG.
iii.
