Media Violence In Pediatrics
In the article Media Violence by the The American Academy of Pediatrics, they state and recognizes
that exposure to violent media, such as TV, games, comics, movies, and music, can pose a health risk
to young teens and children. There has been some research that shows these risks can include,
aggressive behavior, desensitization to violence, nightmares, and fear of being harmed. The
American of Pediatrics also provide a way to counteract such effect such as advocating for media
literacy, more thoughtful and proactive use of media by children and their parents, more responsible
portrayal of violence by media producers, and more useful and effective media ratings. In Violent

They state that they are more likely to be drawn in, but the media itself isn t what makes them
aggressive or violent. They go to provide ways to counteract such a thing by suggesting that,
parents and others should watch out for at risk youths, and foster a peaceful and supporting home.
Of the two articles, Media Violence by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Violent Video

Social Work Values And Ethics
Running head: Social Work Values and Ethics 1
Social Work Values and Ethics Unique to the Profession Jessica A. Rosario Arizona State University
Social Work Values and Ethics 2 Abstract The history and evolution of social work dates to the late
1800 s.
Since the profession was recognized many concerns arose regarding the values and ethics of social
workers. The key points of the NASW Code of Ethics, the CSWE Educational Policy and
Standards, and HIPAA will be summarized. Some of the most challenging ethical issues facing
social workers and the social work profession today, have been explored. The core values of the ...

The CSWE ensures that social workers are educated and competent in the field of social work. It
serves as a guideline for social work educators. The (CSWE) uses the Educational Policy Act
Standards (EPAS) to accredit baccalaureate and master s level social work programs. EPAS
supports academic excellence by establishing thresholds for professional competence (CSWE, 2015).
Social Work Values and Ethics4 Ethical issues in general, regardless of the profession or field
one is in are inevitable. Social workers understand the value base of the profession and its value
base of the profession and its ethical standards, as well as relevant laws and regulations that may
impact practice at the micro and macro level (Segal, 2016). Although social workers are trained
and understand ethical standards does not prevent them to one day face ethical issues. According
to (Reamer, 2014) we have embarked on a new period, one which few of us, he suspected, could
have anticipated. Today s social workers can provide services online or via video counseling or
text messages to clients they never meet in person. They may receive Facebook friend request from
clients or former clients that lead to boundary challenges. These boundary challenges as Reamer
categorizes them are part of what he calls the Digital period. Issues steadily arise even among
segments of the population that one would expect to
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Essay
The Hunger Games is the first book that makes up the famous trilogy written by Suzanne Collins.
Katniss, the book s main character, is a sixteen year old girl, who lives in Panem, a country
divided in 13 different districts. Each year, a reaping is hold, where every district chooses one
boy and one girl to participate to the games. The participants have to kill each other for their
survival, and only one person can end up as a winner. Because of Katniss ingenuity and strategies,
both tributes from her district were able to survive and get through this challenge. This world clearly
relates to the reality television in our contemporary world and to the gladiator fights. This essay will
analyse the different themes, which are used to convey... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rich are also always more prepared and have additional advantage as they are all trained
before the Games and see it as an honour to participate. This can also be a representation of our
world, where wealthier people have everything they need, whilst in the countries were a large
amount of poverty is present, the population has to suffer and work to obtain the essentials to live.
The title Hunger Games evokes a clear message: the way people living in the districts see this
terrifying event as something fun, calling it a game . The whole event is shown on screens in all the
different districts and people gather and enjoy watching their tributes. This clearly relates to a
televised sporting event in which participants compete to win. The enthusiasm of the population is
seen especially during the opening ceremony with the pounding music, the cheers . Moreover, the
Games recall the gladiatorial Games of Ancient Rome in which armed competitors, some voluntary
and others not, would fight to death. The fact that the games are televised and discussed in Panem s
media also recalls today s reality television, and the novel consequently draws a parallel between the
gladiatorial Games and reality TV. Throughout the novel, Katniss and her team use external
Fissile Material Cut Off Test Research Paper
The Path Forward: Fissile Material Cutoff Treaty The establishment of fissile material cut off
treaty (FMCT) has long been a wish of proponents of nuclear disarmament since the onset of the
Cold War. The cries for a world without nuclear weapons can be traced as far back to 1953 where
US President Dwight D. Eisenhower in his Atoms for Peace speech began to cast attention on the
fearful atomic dilemma and called for the eventual elimination of fissile material.3 It has proved a
long arduous journey towards agreement on a treaty and still seems far off in the distant future. With
the current stockpiles estimated to contain enough material to build 60,000 first generation nuclear
weapons using highly enriched uranium (HEU) alone, stopping... Show more content on

The continued conflict between India and Pakistan is the main driver behind the stalling of
Pakistan to move towards an FMCT. Pakistan claims that an FMCT would lock in an unfair
strategic advantage for India thus resulting in the continuation of both countries building their
nuclear arsenals making these two countries the largest fissile material contributors.12 North Korea
s production of fissile material is centered on their belief that it provides regional security serving
as a nuclear deterrent preserving peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and other parts of
Northeast Asia. 12 Israel s lack of transparency regarding both its own nuclear capability and/or
production of fissile material further poses potential issues in achieving consensus of an FMCT. This
clear failure of the world can be attributed to several reasons. Firstly, the extreme difficulty to achieve
consensus can be looked at through a simple mathematical approach. The sheer number of nations
required to reach a consensus on an issue such as this, fundamentally proves difficult. The movement
from the 192 nations of the UN to the 66 member states of the Conference on Disarmament did
increase the hope of consensus, but still the number may be too
Education In Underdeveloped Countries Essay

Education in Underprivileged Countries Nelson Mandela once said, Education is the most powerful
weapon that can be used to change the world. He was right; an education can provide great
opportunities for people. American children have the chance to receive a quality education, but that
is not the case in some countries. In underprivileged countries, children may not receive an
education. In the natural photograph taken in 2009 by American Press photographer Altaf Qadr,
Rajeesh Kumar Sharma has started a free school under a bridge in India to educate underprivileged
children living in surrounding neighborhoods. Most children in America will never have to
experience a situation like this because the government has passed laws to guarantee every child
receives a quality education, but what if the government did not regulate education laws? Imagine
the children of the United States having to miss school because of household duties or cultural
influences? These are common scenarios for children in underdeveloped countries. Inadequate
government funding, household duties, and cultural influences affect whether or not a child receives
a valuable education in an underprivileged country. When governments lack the finances to fund a
proper school, children will not receive a quality education. The government officials in most
developing countries simply do not include funding for primary education in their budget because it

Assess The Theme Of Coming Of Age In Annie John
Summer Reading Choice Book Paragraph, Prompt 1:
The story of Annie John uses the theme of coming of age to push Annie out of her comfort zone to
express and understand her individuality in an environment that allows her to cling to conformity.
Early in the book, Annie begins to realize that she is growing up. Her mother hints deeply at the
individual young lady Annie will have to become, and this differs from how Annie feels about
herself until then. As Annie s mother brings up all the things Annie would end up doing as an adult,
Annie thinks to herself, That the day might actually come when we would live apart I had never
believed. My throat hurt from the tears I held bottled up tight inside. Sometimes we would both
forget the new order of things and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, she doesn t even realize it now, and she is actually disgusted with the idea itself at the
moment. Annie, at first, wanted to stay attached to her mother s values and personality because
that was the only way she knew worked. So, breaking off to be different would be a huge leap
from her original comfort zone. While recognizing her current youth and understanding the
realities of the future, this sets up perfectly for later in the book as Annie physically grows up.
Towards the end of the book, Annie starts to notice that she is growing taller which sets the tone
for her growth as a whole. After returning to school from her sickness, she realizes, Soon I was
able to return to school. Because of my new height, I needed new uniforms and new shoes, for my
feet had grown also (128). The periodic references of her growing in height or size are written at
specific times where she is meant to question herself. In this instance, Annie s sickness is the
significant period before this quote where she has to come to terms with her individuality. This also
transitions well into going back to school because her new attire and physical self helps highlight her

Income Statement In The Case Of Bancabc Inc
Each type of financial statement has its own use to the public, shareholders and potential investors,
they perform different roles.

Writing Fiction Is Therapeutic
Writing a fictional novel is a learning experience. Here s what I ve learned from writing a novel.
Writing Fiction is Therapeutic
Did one of your parents pass away? Are you going through a divorce? Whatever issue you are
dealing with, you can include it in your novel. If you do that, not only will you feel better, but it
make your story more compelling.
To make yourself feel even better, you can blow the situation out of proportion in your novel or
fantasize what you would love to happen. For example. Let s say one of your parents passed away.
In your novel, the same thing happens to one of your characters. The spirit of the dead parent can
visit the character sometime in the future.
Here s another example. Let s say you re going through

I ve been working at Arnia Software for more than 3 years (and counting). It s a great place to

easier every day. But the awards did not come because of my work at Arnia. I rarely do any
Magento projects here. I haven t worked on one in 2 years. Marcus award The nominations and
awards made me happy of course. It showed that the work I ve done so far is appreciated and
useful. It all started with the challenge I mentioned before. I had to learn Magento by myself.
Back then the old Magento forum was really slim with shady answers and I started answering
questions with challenges similar to what I had to make it easier for others. Years later
Magento.StackExchange came along and I shifted my focus there, mostly because the forum was
more spam than useful information. I had some free time at that point to answer questions. For a
lot of them, I didn t know the answer but they were interesting enough to make me dig further. That
helped me learn a lot as well. As for motivation, I have nothing more to say than always take a
hands on approach . I m not good at motivating people
Michelangelo and The Sistine Chapel Frescos Essay
On the 10th of May 1508 I signed a contract to agree to fulfill Pope Julius commission on painting
the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I had bad feelings about thewhole thing from the day Julius
commissioned me to paint instead of sculpt. I am anarchitect and sculptor not a fresco painter. It is
not that I doubt my ability s to completesuch a task, but I believe that there are other artists that
would be much better suited for the job than I. It is of course an honor to be chosen to paintsuch a
ceiling and Julius isfar to stubborn to find anyone else but myself, so I will paint and I will make it
one of thegreatest frescopaintings there will ever be.(Brandes, 254).

I sent my assistants back to Florence because I knew that this was my vision andmy responsibility
to paint this ceiling. I started today with The Drunkenness of Noah, itis so uncomfortable to paint
in this position that I must be in to paint such a ceiling. Itsometimes makes me wonder why I am
here. I will paint this ceiling, not for the popeand not for the Romans but for myself, to fell proud of
my own work.
To show the reality in this painting of Noah I will place him collapsed on theground next to a jug
of wine. His sons will be around him giving him support andcomfort as he struggles to understand
what God s plan is for him and his family. Noah issuch a peaceful man with a lot on his mind and
this is how I will paint him. (Camesasca,

I am now working on The Flood. This painting brings out a lot of emotion in me,there is a sense of
fear and terror among the crowd of people who are about to be wipedaway from the earth. I want
the wind to be a great force in this fresco to give the effectof a great storm. The trees are about to be
uprooted and the people will run for shelterand higher ground. This painting of the great
