The Importance Of The Centrality And Power Of Love
The centrality and power of love as experienced by humans has led them to write songs
throughout the ages. It has also resulted in verses and stories about love which they describe as
the indescribable and mysterious force that leads them to the peaks of felicity as well as to the
depths of despair. Love is the ultimate human concern. It is also the object of all human striving as
well as the universal principle engirdling all human activities (Brent Linge 3). The need to examine
and explore love to its very depths has been a major human priority from the beginning of time. Plato
s symposiumis an example of a forum, which focuses on myths, and motifs of love. It is an ancient
discourse, which records stories and verses in form of speech by six prominent Athenians. Their
stories depict the nature and function of love. Plato s doctrine of Eros, love is egocentric in nature.
It is also apathetic towards the others. It is destructive and discouraging for people who crave a
comprehensive understanding of authentic love and the love for others God included. Unlike other
Platonic dialogues which cover topics such as conceptions of justice, the nature of knowledge and
the constitution of reality suggested by Parmenides, the symposium takes a different, rather
sentimental approach. Plato strives to link love to philosophy. He demonstrates that the concept is
after all, the handmaiden of philosophy. He takes local and traditional theories of love and utilizes
them to come up with a
The Armenian Genocide
The very corrupt mind of Adolf Hitler once said, Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of
the Armenians? ( Armenian Genocide Museum of America ). Not but 100 years ago, a mass murder
of over 1.5 million innocent Armenian citizens occurred in the former Ottoman Empire at the hands
of the Turkish military officials. Yet in the present day, many sources and scholars throughout the
world refuse to accept such exterminating events that took place between the Turks and Armenians.
(History.com Staff). According to Dictionary.com, the very definition of the word genocidemeans to
deliberately kill off or a systematic extermination of a large group people, especially those of a
particular ethnic group or nation ( Genocide ). The Armenian... Show more content on

Civilizations of any race or religion within any country would feel at home without fear of being

genocides, the Darfur genocide could last for centuries and exterminate the entire non Arab race.
Governments would become ruled with corrupt leaders. Ethnic and religious cleansing would wipe
out populations, events as big as the Jewish Holocaust would reoccur without fail. This is why all

Who Is Charlie Smarter In Flowers For Algernon
Have you ever read the book Flowers for Algernon ? It is a great story, It s all about this man
named Charlie. Charlie had a mental disability and was determined to become smart like his
friends Frank Rylee, and Joe Carp. In the book, he did a surgery that he thought could help him
become smarter and more self aware. But I disagree with Charles actions on getting smarter. I
disagree with the surgery because the surgery doesn t help him. I believe that Charlie shouldn t
have done the surgery because it just made his conditions worse I know this because in the course
of the story everything that happens to Charlie is terrible. The surgery made his conditions worse
because when Charlie became smarter for that short period of time he encounters some memories
about the people around him. Unfortunately, the memories he remembered were terrible memories
about his mom and his so called friends . From what I have read his mother was terrible to him,
and she abandoned him. The mother used to beat him nearly every day, and his friends used to tag
him along with them just so they can push him around and make fun of him. That is just one of my
reasons I disagree with the surgery.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sure, Charlie made the wrong decision but I don t believe that he understood the consequences
that could occur after the procedure. Yes, Charlie would do anything to get smart but I believe
that you are is who you re supposed to be, and you shouldn t try to change that. You shouldn t try
to change that because when you do that I believe you are disobeying god s plans for you. If you
were trying to get more intelligent you shouldn t do a surgery, you never know what the outcomes
may be and some can be
Orphan Drug Act Research Paper
There have been 5,000 rare diseases that have been identified. The disease is considered rare in the
United States if less than 200,000 people have it. The pharmaceutical industry will not develop a
cure for the disease since it does not affect most of a population. For this reason, Congress passed
the Orphan DrugAct (ODA) in 1983.
Under the Ronald Reagan administration the Orphan Drug Act allows the federal government to
help out in the making of new drugs for these rare diseases. Incentives are given to the drug
manufacturer in order to intise them to find a cure or develop a drug that will help out. To find a
cure can become very expensive and time consuming for the drug companies. There are incentives
given to the drug manufacturers like grant funding, assistance in the drug development, seven year
patent on the drug post Food and Drug Administration approval, and so forth. In the end, the drug
company has the better end of the deal.
Some people do not fully understand what orphan drugs are. Orphan drugs are defined as drugs that
have not been developed yet because the need for that drug to be made is not in that of high demand
from the general public. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than 265 of the drugs have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Out of
these 265 drugs 209 of these drugs are for the use of rare diseases. The increase has been
astonishing taking into consideration from when the Orphan Drug Act was first passed there were
only about 15 orphan drugs that were approved.
The Orphan Drug Act has come a long way and has helped many people maintain a long a
prosperous life. For those who have not been so fortunate many of us owe a great deal of thanks
to these people. If these people did not take the sacrifice many more people today would not be here
if it was not for the orphan drugs that were created for people with rare
The Evil of Armenian Genocide Essay
In order for us to find the foundation of our human nature, we must look beyond into our early years
where human nature is dug deep into the roots of our history and involvements. About 97 years ago
the horrific Genocide of the Armenians took place. Turkey has shown a classic example of the evil
that can result by human beings. Millions of Armenians were slaughtered and murdered in front of
their family members. The destruction that constantly plays out throughout the world is cuased by
human beings. Hsun Tzu would have also agreed that the young Turks were in face by nature
extremely evil. April 24th is the day of grief for many Armenians. Almost every Armenian reminisces
on their loved ones that they have lost during this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had no clue where their families were or even if they were alive. Children were separated
from their parents during the march to the concentration camps in the desert. The authorities
loaded the Armenians like animals on boats and sent them away. The massacre of the Armenian
race went on for two long years. 1.5 million Armenians were brutalized and starved to death. Hsun
Tzu is a Chinese philosopher whom believes human beings are by nature integrally evil, and the
only way they will be able to be good is by their conscious activity. Humans learn from others and
naturally follow without knowing if it is good or bad. After realizing how imperfect the nature of
man is we understand as to why a man must become a student before he grows from his evil nature.
It is true horror that mankind can conflict on society. Society has many rules and we humans always
tend to follow them. The Turks followed their leaders which was the Young Turk Government in
which led them to believe the Armenians were trying to take all of their land. This proves that Hsun
Tzu is right about humans and society. Hsun Tzu said, the progress of society would decay into
barbarism, selfishness and violence. This quote connects with the history of the Armenian Genocide
and how evil the Turks were to the Armenians. Their leader told them to have the Armenians starve
to death and they did. They thought what they were doing was totally right and for the best of their
country. Hsun
Character Analysis Of The Addams Family Musical
The Addams Family Musical was performed by the Brickstreet players at the Wills Point High
school. They performed on November 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm. The major conflict of this production
was that Wednesday Addams wanted to marry a normal boy named Lucas. Neither set of parents
were happy that their children wanted to get married.
The dominant tone of the play was cosmic. There were many ongoing jokes throughout the play, for
example, the character Lurch who is an undead butler is always two paces behind everything such
as when Gomez said a joke, and everyone laughs it took until everyone stopped laughing for Lurch
to start. Another example would be the grandmother, even though she was not on stage for very long
when she was hilarious. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the actors were required to sing and for being a high school production they did really well.
The director did an excellent job casting the group of actors. The performance space was in a
cafetorium and the stage was on the smaller side. The back of the stage was set up as if it was an
old abandon graveyard, with dead trees, old crumbly headstones, and a large black entry gate.
Then when it was time for the scene set in and out of the house they had movable walls, and door
set on wheels. This gave the illusion that we were now indoors or outside of the house depending
on the scene. When we were inside they had furniture such as tables, chairs, and a couch. When we
were outside they had trees, bushes, and dead plants. The lighting of the play was on the darker side
to help create the Addams Family come to life. The loss of the scenery would have completely
destroy the whole story. The costumes fit the personality of each character perfectly. For example,
Gomez Addams costume was just like the one we are all use to. He wore a black and white pin
striped suite, with slicked back black hair and his signature black mustache. Another example is
Uncle Fester he wear a black moomoo looking gown with a bold hear and a sickly appearance. Next
would be the Addams dead relatives, they were all dressed in white from head to toe. They all had
dark dead eyes and sickly sunken in cheeks. The makeup and costumes helped set the
Reflection On Acuity As An English II Predictor
Reflection 27: Acuity as an English II Predictor Methods Linear regression allows researchers to
analyze cause and effect or predictive relationships among variables (Creighton, 2007). For this
assignment, I set out to conduct a regression analysis in hopes of answering two questions: (1) is
there a relationship between student scores on Acuity, our school wide interim testing program, and
their performance on the English II state assessment?, and (2) if the relationship is significant, can
Acuity results be used to predict student performance on the state test? To conduct this analysis I
used the 2015 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) English
II assessment results as well as the Acuity data from the first semester screener which was given in
December 2014. This test was the last comprehensive Acuity exam given to English II students
during the 2014 2015 school year (a PARCC issued practice test was used during third nine weeks
exams). My student sample included all students who had both a December Acuity score in the
Acuity online system and a Spring 2015 PARCC score in School Status, the school s database for
teacher and student information. With these requirements, the total sample size included 64
students. To run my statistical analysis, I created a Google Sheet document with three columns
including the student name (1), their percent correct on the December 2014 Acuity Diagnostic test
(2), and their scale score for the Spring
Evolution Of The Endemic South American Animals
Annotation #1
Buckley M (2015) Ancient collagen reveals evolutionary history of the endemic South American
ungulates . Proc Biol Sci 282: 20142671 20142671 The article studied collagen found in the fossils of
ancient South American animals (Laurasian condylarths ) and compared it with the collagen found
in animals present today, mainly xenarthrans (anteaters, armadillos and sloths). The author used the
data to compile all the animal species into their respective groups (ungulate). Because the author
discovered some discrepancies in the fossil records and the morphology previously thought to be
true, he is trying to determine a phylogenetic tree using collagen found in fossils of extinct ancestors
of South American mammals. The study required the use of fossil records and the molecular
phylogeny. The author isolated proteins found in the collagen of the ancient remains of these
creatures and sequenced it. The author then observed the structure using liquid chromatography
(tandem mass spectrometry). As a result, a phylogenetic tree was created with many creatures linked
based on the collagen protein similarities. The final result was consistent with the actual ungulates of
modern South American creatures; however, the author was also able to find the placement of
distinctly related groups of mammals within the phylogeny. The conclusion was the fossil record can
be used to identify phylogenies based on the molecular structures. The sequencing of collagen has

Argumentative Essay-Harambe Is Wrong
The Killing of Harambe was NOT Ok Do you think that shooting a harmless animal is okay? On
May 28, 2016 a three year old boy fell into Harambe, a 420 pound Silverback gorilla s, den. Zoo
officials quickly decided to shoot Harambe to save the little boy, although he was in no danger. I
think Harambe should not have gotten killed because according to experts he was not aggressive
towards people, and also he was used to humans. Also I think that the place he lived should have
been fully enclosed. Lastly, instead of shooting the gorilla, I think they should have used a
tranquilizer gun. The first reason why I think Harambe shouldn t have been killed is because he
was used to the presence of humans. He was born in and raised in captivity, and he was with a
zookeeper at least once a day. This shows that he wouldn t have harmed the little boy.... Show more

I don t think the boy or no one else from the public should have been able to get into his cage. If
the exhibit would have been fully inclosed, the little boy wouldn t have been able to get in, and
Harambe wouldn t have been killed. I think the zoo and the parents both should have been held
accountable. This shows that if there was more safety that it would have never happened. Some
people say that Harambe should have been killed instantly because a human s life is more important
that an animal s. I agree with them that human lives are more important than animals, but I don t
think Harambe should have been killed. I think that the zoo should have tranquilized
