After working for Xerox for 11 years Dan Strull took a risk and started his own independent
company. Xerox gave him an area to work in and he built his company and client base in that
area. After two years of hard work, Xerox rewarded him with a bigger area to sell in and continue
to grow his company. He managed to grow his staff from two employees to ten within two year.
Today, Copier Headquarters has 27 employees, generates over 6 million in revenue, and is a great

Compare and Contrast Minority and Majority Influence
As social beings, with each one of us connected to a whole network of other humans and their
associated beliefs, opinions and traits practically every conscious second of the day, it is inevitable
that we will be subject to external influences. These influences come in all shapes and forms from a
whole multitude of sources, occurring both consciously and unconsciously, instantaneously or over a
prolonged period of time, with the potential effect of these influences ranging from the immaterial to
the life changing. While our susceptibility to influence from the connected world around us can be
hard to measure given our constant exposure to several different influences, social psychologists
have been able to study the world of influence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One may find this interesting as it demonstrates the unconscious influence we are all subject to
throughout life by the other members of our cultural group. Another factor that would make
people more susceptible to group influence is the size of the group. While one may naturally
think this seems obvious, with the more members in a group the more likely one is to be
influenced, investigations have identified that a group of 3 5 is the ideal number for influence to
occur. A group size of less than 3 people sees conformity significantly reduced (Bond, 2005), while
there appears to be little difference in the effect of the size of the group once the group has
reached a size of 5. One may challenge this, as it would seem to contradict slightly the
phenomenon of de individualisation which can see individuals doing things they would never
dream of doing if acting independently, though as a result of the big group setting in which the
individual finds themself, they lose their sense of individual identity and act in line with the
crowd. One would expect this to occur much more readily when in a crowd of 20,000, as opposed to
a group of 5. Above and beyond one s cultural tendencies and the size of the group, there are
The Ethical Philosophy Of The United States
Organizations have disparate marketing strategies when selecting choices that affect stakeholders.
Each approach touches the consumer and the Earth; it defines if the business is socially accountable
for humanity. When the ethical philosophy a company follows is for universal individual rights
regardless of the outcome, it is moral idealism. In contrast, when only considering the greater good
for the greatest number and appraising cost and the benefit of the choice it is utilitarianism. If the
benefits exceed the costs, then the behavior is ethical, if not, then the behavior is considered
unethical. This philosophy underlies the economic tenets of capitalism and is embraced by many
business executives (Kerin, Hartley, Rudelius, 2015,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A company incorporating structures to guide executives that considers all the variables began with
Robert Wood Johnson of Johnson Johnson. In 1934, he wrote a credo which became a structure for
other organizations to consider. The statement described that their responsibility was to all users of
their products, and that the stockholders should realize a fair return without doing harm to a
consumer (Johnson Johnson, 1943). These principles established ethical guidelines for Johnson
Johnson and a model for other industries. ¬The United States Civil Rights Act of 1964, the U.S.
Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 helped
companies to become socially responsible (De George, 2015). Ethics and social responsibilities are
evident with British Petroleum s handling of the Deepwater Horizon spill in 2010, and Toyota
Motor Corporation s attempt to create an eco friendly vehicle. Utilitarianism was exhibited by BP
and moral idealism was Toyota s motive to produce environmentally green vehicles. British
Petroleum redesigned their name to make it more environmentally friendly, it was changed to
Beyond Petroleum, which professed their focus on renewable energy not just hydrocarbons, and
promoted a pro social marketing plan (Balmer et al., 2011). In 2008, they defined their sustainable
conduct: we aim for no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the
Speech Mountaintop
The famous speech I ve been to the mountaintop by Martin Luther King Jr is broken down by
composition and rhetoric techniques. It s a persuasive speech about the concern of the Memphis
Sanitation strike, a strike that increased the feeling of colored people feeling unequal towards
white people. King spoke this speech on April 3, 1968, and it sadly was it last speech before he
was assassinated the next day. His plan was to call for unity and nonviolent protest, he felt as if
everyone should get along. Throughout his speech he stated But I wouldn t stop there, meaning
that he wanted people to not give up keep going through the difficult journey that it was going to
change soon. His goals for the conveyance of the speech Mountaintop was to restore his leadership
along with transfer his nonviolent approach in the Civil Rights Movement in Memphis. King s
speech involved the examination of god and the devil terms and how they conducted the ideal
message he wanted his audience in Memphis and outside to follow as well as his evil message he
wanted them to avoid. King offered the people of Memphis, sanitation workers, as well as others
involved with the Civil Rights Movement a choice of whether to obtain his message or not. In the
beginning of his speech he brings up a very close friend of his called Ralph Abernathy. He describes
his emotionally relationship with Ralph by describing his intro eloquent and generous. Dr. King s
opening remarks are set back very calm and
Weak Government Research Paper
Effects of Weak Government in the Horn of Africa Over the last 13 years, since the attacks against
the Pentagon and the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 the world has been exposed to
the global threat of extremist ideologies. Service men and women have had a firsthand view of the
breeding grounds and environments such ideologies are harbored and developed. With the
drawdown of the war in Afghanistan, the global war on terrorismwill not end. Instead the focus will
shift to other dangerous parts of the world where extremists have already become established;
places like Somalia in the Horn of Africa. The weak government in Somalia has fostered an
environment conducive to the development of extremist ideologies. This is evident... Show more

The judicial system however was developed in a Western style, including a penal code, criminal
court procedures, and a four tiered court system. Islamic law as well as customary Somali law both
play a role in civil and clan disputes ( Culture of Somalia history, people, women, beliefs, food,
customs, family, social, dress, n.d.). The infant government of Somalia is currently making gains in
establishing support in the urban areas of the country through international aid from the African
Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) (AMISOM Mandate. n.d.) and advisory assistance from the
United States State Department ( U.S. Assistance in Somalia, 2013, May 7). However its influence
is still waning in rural areas, which has allowed established organizations like Al Shabaab freedom
of movement within the country and often times across its borders. Once the government gains
sufficient support, it will be able to extend its influence into the rural clan territories. As the
government gains support from the rural clans and sub clans they will more effectively be able to
enforce rule of law and protect its people from internal threats like Al Shabaab and external threats
from outside its
Original Thirteen Colonies
The Original Thirteen Colonies The original 13 colonies were established in 1607. Virginia
/Jamestown was the first followed by, in chronological order, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia. These colonies were governed by the British until the
Revolutionary War. The thirteen colonieswere divided into three groups based on geography: New
EnglandColonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. The New England Colonies were New
Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The Middle Colonies were New York,
New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The Southern Colonies were Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North

The reason the upper class settled in the Southern colonies was because of the large and very
valuable tracts of land available for farming. It was advantageous to settle in the south because of
the perfect climate for farming and growing cash crops. In 1607, King James 1 split the Atlantic
seaboard into two distinct areas. He gave the southern half to the London Company and the
northern half to the Plymouth Company. A total of 144 ships were sent by the London Company
to settle. They established the settlement called Jamestown. It was at first not an easy adventure.
The settlers primary focus was on finding gold. While they were so consumed with finding gold,
they were not producing any exports to bring money to them and often times barely had enough
food for survival. Virginia began growing tobacco. This proved to be a very profitable crop for
them, but it was also their main source of income and they relied heavily on it. Virginia had a lot of
slaves, at first mostly white indentured servants who helped in the tobacco fields. However, later
Virginia became a true slave society with slaves from Africa. White male landowners held most of
the power. These white men controlled the government and belonged to the Church of England. In
1775, Virginia ended up becoming a royal government, meaning the colonial government was
appointed by the crown. Religious tolerance took a while to prosper in Virginia. There was a high
influx of Anglicans in this colony and they were legally required to attend church services in the
beginning. Taxes were collected to support the church. On Sundays, both business affairs and church
series were conducted (B. Wolfe). Virginia s climate consisted of hot and humid summers and
moderate winters. The hot, humid climate made conditions optimal
Apple Vs Microsoft
In recent months, there has been numerous accounts where law and business intersect. One of the
most recent issues was the Apple vs FBI feud.

The FBI argues that Apple should give them access and break the encryption in order to open the
cell phone of the San Bernardino shooter. In this case the

government. The FBI would be relying on an outdated law called the All Writs Act, which was
written in 1911. Brad Smith, a top executive at Microsoft, believes courts should not resolve issues
of 21st century technology with the law that was written in the era of the adding machine . Apple
argued that it was a violation of their privacy and was unconstitutional. What has prompted this

Likewise, the courts are faced with a new dilemma which is the rise in technology and the massive
roles it plays in the life of the consumer. As one of the major executives in the industry, Brad Smith
s stance on the issue is we are in a new age of technology that requires a new understanding of our

fundamental rights . A common thread with these tech conflicts is that the government tends to
utilize outdated legisaltion. With the rapid advancement of

technology, Congress needs to create legislation that fits the current time period. When our founding
fathers wrote the Constitution, they did not it

imagine how the world would be in the 21st Century. They never envisioned iPhones, Laptops, cloud
storage etc. However, they wanted to establish a Democracy

where citizens had privacy. In present day,the government are not delegating accordingly to the
fundamentals established by the founding fathers. The Fourth

amendment protects Americans against unreasonable searches and seizures without a warrant,
however, it does not offer the same protection from paper to data

Tangerine Literary Analysis
Did you ever want to see the truth about everyone and understand what they mean? In the novel
Tangerine by Edward Bloor the themes seeing and truth is expressed. But I can see. I can see
everything. I can see things that Mom and Dad can t. Or won t. These are Paul s words and they
foreshadow what s to come. In other words, Paul s parents are underestimating his eyesight and
believe that Paul is only a handicap kid that needs assistance with everything. In addition to that
Paul has an older brother named Erik, he s the star of the show. Paul s parents think of Erik as the
golden child, but in reality Erik is a psychopath that wants to kill Paul, sadly only Paul sees Erik s

Normally people would think that they are mean people, just like how Joey did. On page 93 it
states I let you talk me into coming to this dump. and This place is like darkest Africa. Like the
Amazon jungle. Like we re learning to live among the natives here. To put it differently, Joey has
been racist since kids at Tangerine are mainly Latino others look down on them and only see them
as troublemakers who have gangs. Bloor used imagery to express how Tangerine was a dump . It
states The textbooks are old, too. Really old. And they have stuff written in them . You can
imagine how they would look, all worn out and messed up so the imagery helps support why
Joey talked about how the school was trash. But in reality Tangerine and the kids there aren t low
lives and Paul sees that. It even states If you re a War Eagle, then you re a War Eagle. You got
brothers to back you up. Nobody s gonna mess with you, not anyplace, not anytime. Do you know
what I m sayin ? on page 77. The text demonstrates how tight Paul was with the Tangerine kids, they
aren t actual gangsters. Victor them may be a little different then the people at Lake Windsor but
