MONGODB ATLAS FULL TEXT SEARCH
MongoDB Atlas Full-Text Search is a powerful feature provided by MongoDB’s cloud service that enables text-based search
functionality over data stored in collections. It uses Apache Lucene under the hood, allowing developers to perform
advanced text queries such as autocomplete, fuzzy matching, and relevance-based scoring without the need for external
search engines like Elasticsearch.

In our project, we utilized Atlas Full-Text Search to build a smart recommendation system.
We created a search index on key product fields like product_name, category, region When a user types a query, the
system fetches matching documents using $search queries with operators like:
• Autocomplete to show suggestions as the user types
• Text for exact or fuzzy matching of keywords
• Compound to combine multiple conditions, e.g., matching both name and region
We also flattened the result and used this data to display search suggestions or personalized recommendations based on
user input, which enhances the overall search experience on the platform.
