Problem Title: Motion Sensor-Based Door Opening System

Problem Description: The motion sensor-based door opening system is designed to automate
door access using a Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor, a servo motor, and LED indicators.
When motion is detected near the door, the servo motor activates to open the door, and a LED
illuminates. If no motion is detected, the door remains closed.
The different design levels that you will investigate are as follows:
 Level-I: (Data Acquisition) The system uses a PIR motion sensor to detect movement.
When a person approaches the detection area, the system registers their presence and
prepares to activate the door.
 Level-II: (Data Processing and Validation) The system processes motion detection data
and determines whether to activate the door-opening mechanism. If movement is
detected, the system triggers an appropriate response.
 Level-III: (Output Indications and Door Control) Upon successful motion detection, the
system:
o Activates a servo motor to open the door.
o Illuminates a LED to indicate success.
o If no motion is detected:
 The door remains closed.
 The LED remains off.
 Level-IV: (System Integration) The system can be expanded to include additional
features such as remote monitoring, integration with security systems, or automated
locking mechanisms. The PIR motion sensor, servo motor, and LED indicators are
integrated to work in synchronization, ensuring efficient door automation.
Deliverables & Instructions: The report should submit a comprehensive design that includes:
1. Details of the working functionality of individual circuit components and their
interconnections at each level of the design.
2. Complete schematic diagram of the design showing interconnections among all
components proposed in the design.
3. Specifications for each component, such as sensor selection, Arduino pin configuration,
motor and LED connections, and an explanation of the working principle of each.

4. Explain future applications and improvements.

By working on this project, we will gain experience in electromechanical systems and the details
of motor working and its connections. We will also get knowledge about the pin configurations
and connections of a microcontroller, which in our case is an Arduino UNO.
