ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
Project E-CARE (Enhancing Comprehension And Reading Engagement)
As a member of the English Department, I am pleased to report on the successful
implementation of Project E-CARE, a PHIL-IRI based reading initiative that aimed
to support and improve the reading skills of students, particularly those identified as
non-readers and struggling readers. This project was grounded in the belief that
every learner deserves the opportunity to become a confident and competent
reader.
The main objective of Project E-CARE was to help students learn how to read
through structured and meaningful interventions. With the support of the English
Department and school administration, the project was launched. The program
began with a baseline reading assessment which I have conducted on my classes to
determine the individual reading levels and specific challenges faced by each
learner. As a Grade 8 teacher, I have identified 13 students to from the various
classes that I handled. From which, I have given my focus on enhancing the reading
and comprehension skills of those students identified as Non-Reader and Frustration
Reader under my classes. These sessions targeted word recognition, decoding,
vocabulary development, and reading fluency.
These methods aimed to make reading enjoyable while reinforcing important
literacy skills. The integration of interactive and student-centered approaches
helped sustain learner interest and encouraged participation, even among reluctant
readers.
Over the course of the program, noticeable improvements were observed. Many
students showed gains in fluency and comprehension, and some who initially
struggled to read simple words were later able to read short passages with minimal
assistance. I have observed an increase in classroom participation and self-
confidence among the participating students. Parents also provided positive
feedback, expressing gratitude for the improvement in their children’s reading
abilities during our quarter PTA conferences.
In conclusion, Project E-CARE was a meaningful initiative that significantly
contributed to the literacy development of our learners. It affirmed the power of
targeted support and the role of collaboration among teachers, students, and the
school community in achieving the shared goal of making every child a reader.

REFLECTION NOTES
Participation in coaching and mentoring sessions, Learning Action Cell
(LAC) sessions, and focused group discussions (FGDs) this school year provided
meaningful opportunities for professional growth and ethical reflection. One of the
key takeaways for me was the importance of consistently aligning my teaching
practices with existing laws and the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.
In one LAC session, we revisited the Philippine Teachers Professionalization
Act (RA 7836) and discussed key sections of the Code of Ethics, which reminded me
of the legal and moral standards that govern our daily conduct as educators. This
prompted me to assess how I demonstrate fairness, professionalism, and
accountability in my classroom practices, especially when dealing with student
behavior, academic assessments, and communication with parents.
Through our mentoring sessions, I also became more aware of my obligations to
protect the rights and welfare of every learner. We reviewed child protection
policies, and I reflected on how I handle sensitive situations in the classroom with
respect and confidentiality. I’ve since become more intentional in ensuring that all
students feel safe, heard, and respected.
These sessions also encouraged self-reflection on how I communicate with
stakeholders and manage my online presence as a public servant. I realized that
even outside the classroom, my actions reflect on the teaching profession. This
awareness has influenced how I present myself in public and on social media,
reinforcing the need to uphold professional dignity at all times, as emphasized in
Article VIII, Section 1 of the Code of Ethics.
Ultimately, these professional development sessions served as a mirror for
self-assessment and a roadmap for professional responsibility. They have
strengthened my commitment to being not only an effective teacher but also an
ethical and law-abiding one. Moving forward, I intend to sustain this practice of
regularly reviewing my teaching in light of professional standards, legal
expectations, and ethical responsibilities.

NARRATIVE REPORT-MINUTES OF MEETING
On October 18, 2024 a class meeting was held for Grade 8 – Section Aster under the
supervision of Mr. France D. Llanera, the class adviser. The meeting took place in
their classroom at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
The agenda focused on the students' literacy and numeracy skills, overall academic
performance, and concerns regarding absences and tardiness.
Mr. Llanera began by discussing the current state of the students' literacy and
numeracy skills. He noted that while many students are performing at an
acceptable level, there are still several learners who need additional support in
reading comprehension and basic mathematical operations. To address these gaps,
the adviser proposed the implementation of remedial sessions and peer tutoring
programs.
Following this, Mr. Llanera presented a summary of the students’ performance for
the 1st quarter. He acknowledged the efforts of the class but also emphasized the
need for improvement in certain subjects. He encouraged students to take their
studies more seriously and to seek help when needed, particularly in areas where
they scored below expectations.
The issue of absences and tardiness was also brought to attention. Mr. Llanera
expressed concern over the increasing number of students who frequently miss
classes or arrive late. He reminded everyone of the importance of consistent
attendance and punctuality, as both directly impact academic performance. He also
mentioned that parents of students with habitual absences may be called for a
meeting to discuss appropriate interventions.
To end the meeting on a positive note, Mr. Llanera led the recognition of the
academic awardees for the 1st quarter. Students who achieved honors were
acknowledged and presented with certificates. He commended their hard work and
encouraged the entire class to strive for excellence in the upcoming quarter.
The meeting concluded at 4:30, with Mr. Llanera expressing his gratitude to the
students for their attention and participation.
