Waterproofing Tile Roof Mount Sub-Flashing: Three-Course Method

Note: The three-course method may used to flash all QBase tile products as well as the Tile Replacement Mount Base Mount and the Tile Replacement
Conduit Penetration Flashing following the same procedure outlined here.
Installation Tools Required: gloves, hammer, brush, roofing nails, roofing cement, trowel, roll of reinforcing fabric

WARNING: Quick Mount PV products are NOT designed and should NOT be used for anchoring fall protection equipment.

Clean away dust and debris around QBase. Apply a bead of sealant in the shape of an upside Install the sub-flashing over the post, making sure

Fasten the sub-flashing into place with two roof- Apply 1/8" thick layer of roofing cement around While cement is still wet apply 3 pieces of rein-

felt. Layer should be about the thickness of a nickel. along each side.

After first layer of cement is dry apply second layer NOTE: The TRI/FRSA Florida guidelines indicate
over reinforcing fabric to finish waterproofing of the sub-flashing being flashed using the three-
sub-flashing. course method on ALL FOUR SIDES. Alternative
flashing methods may be approved by the AHJ at
their discretion.
