6. Site Geology, Soil Profile
Soil characteristics and data will be obtained by conducting actual soil exploration
on site.
Refer to Table 208-7, 208-8 and 209-1 for soil data at NSCP 2015 7th Edition.
C. Reinforcements
1. All reinforcing steel bars shall be deformed round bars with structural grade
conforming to ASTM ASTM A-65 Fy = 275.80 MPa
2. All reinforcing steel bars indicated in the plan should be strictly followed.
3. Reinforcing steel bars shall be spliced at quarter point and minimum length of
40 times the diameter of the bar.
4. Column main bars shall be spliced staggered and spliced to mid-floor height and a
minimum length of 40 times the diameter of the bar.
5. In two way slabs the bars along the short span be at the lower layer for bottom bars
and the upper layer for top bars so that the bars along the shorter span shall have
the bigger effective depth, unless otherwise specified.
6. If the top reinforcement over a common support of two adjacent spans are different,
the smaller spacing shall be followed on both slab panels at the common support.
7. Bars shall be spliced only where indicated on details or as approved by the structural
designer.

E. Concrete Works
a. Sample test concrete mixtures of approved graded materials must be done
before concrete works. Concrete must attain the following stress after 28 days.
b. Unless specified: for all structural concrete members such as footings, slabs,
columns, beams, girders, and stairs must be 3,000 psi in 28 days.
c. Materials
Cement – 40 kgs. “Portland” or its approved brand conforming to ASTM C-150 or
C-175
Sand – shall be washed and free from any organic matter
Gravel – shall be crushed for foundation and ¾’’ for slabs, beams, girders, and
columns
Water for mixing shall be potable and free from any organic matter
F. Structural Steel
Steel structures and steel plates shall conform to ASTM
A-36 All members shall be ASTM A36
Fy = 248.16 MPa
Welding electrodes shall be E60xx/E70xx
Machine bolts and anchor bolts shall conform to ASTM
