Cultural Analysis of Spain
**this was written as the first stage of analyizing Spain for the introduction of a franchise**

In the beginning, Spain endured a diversified number of cultures. Around 1600 B.C., the Iberians arrived
in Spain. Migration into Spain continued from Europe beyond the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean, and North
Africa. Following the Iberians, came the Celts. The two cultures merged and established a distinctive Celt
Iberian culture. In 1492, the Moors, a nomadic, Muslim tribe of North African origin, were driven off of
the Iberian Peninsula. Shortly after, several kingdoms on the Iberian Peninsula merged to form what is
modern day Spain.

Spain is located in southwestern Europe and occupies approximately 80% of the Iberian Peninsula. It

Traditional Spanish food consists of fresh ingredients. Seafood, which is consumed within hours of
being caught, as well as meat, are combined with herbs, spices, and lots of olive oil in traditional Spanish
cuisine. Because of the increase in the number of fast food restaurants in Spain as well as restaurants
from other countries with their own flavors, the traditional food of Spain is starting to decrease but will
never be forgotten.

Today s democratic Spain is the product of a long and often troubled history. For much of the twentieth
century, Spain was governed by dictatorships, most recently during the years of 1939 through 1975 under
General Francisco Franco.

The government of Spain is one of constitutional monarchy. The nation is led by the Spanish head of state,
King Juan Carlos I, who began his reign in 1975. Subordinate to the monarchy, there are 3 branches of
government, an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch, and a Judicial Branch.

Although Spain is a kingdom, the King is not the leader of the Spanish government. The Executive
Branch is led by the Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar. Also included in this branch are various
governmental positions including the First Deputy Prime Minister, Second Deputy Prime Minister, and
the Council of Ministers. Additionally, the Executive Branch is responsible for enforcing or carrying out
the laws that are made through the Legislative Branch.

The Legislative Branch of the Spanish government is comprised of

Guy Clark Essay
Yesterday the music world lost one of the great singer songwriters. With the loss of Guy Clark, Country
music lost of one of its moorings to true originality and authenticity. While I certainly can t claim to be an
authority on Guy Clarks works, I ve heard his songs enough to appreciate the depth and poetryof his lyrics.
I had the good fortune to be contracted to write for one of EMI publishing s joint ventures in the early
nineties. And If I m not mistaken, Mr. Clark was a writer at EMI publishing during this time as well. One
of the factors that added to the excitement of writingon music row in those days was the possibility of
meeting or even catching a glimpse of a songwriting giant like him. And no; sadly, I haven t had the
pleasure of meeting Guy Clark. I did however pour my cup of coffee from the same pot as he in the
EMI writer s lounge one cold winter morning! That may not sound like much to you, but when you re a
young struggling writer, you hang on any chance to draw similarities; however diluted, between yourself
and a legend like Guy (I can call him that because after all... we did share a coffee pot).... Show more

Criminal Case Analysis
Throughout the 20th century, the importance of criminal cases increased. From sentencing the death
penalty to creating a model code that almost all of the states use, the decisions on criminal cases have
changed constantly. Criminal cases are defined as a person committing a public wrong which is
considered an offense against the state. A criminal case can be settled with a plea bargain or through a
trial, which is decided by certain jurisdictions. There are many factors that go into deciding a criminal
case, those being the crimethat was committed, the evidence that is brought into the case, the state the
trial is being held in and whether the Judge dismisses the case or not. Many of the crucial criminal cases
have shined a light on the important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The MPC was used in courts, and judges rely on it when handling substantive criminal law decisions.
Some states even used MPC s model of organization as a starting point. MPC remains an influence in the
criminal laws for more than 2/3 of the states even if it s received a lot of criticism.
Another way that decisions on criminal cases have developed is with the Hearsay Rule. The Hearsay
rule is defined as a statement, other than one made by the declarant while testifying at a trial or hearing,
offered in evidence to prove the truth of the matter at hand. (HR) The hearsay rule is not allowed in
several courts because it is questionable and could violate the 6th and 14th amendment. The only
exceptions for allowing the hearsay rule is in some cases if the declarant can testify, if the declarant can t
testify or if the case involves child
Analyse the Argument of the Existence of God from...
i) Analyse the Argument for the Existence of God from Religious Experience (18)

The argument for the existence of God from Religious Experience is a simple one, with only two
premises. The first being that some people have, or have had a religious experience, the second premise
is that these are only explicable though God, thus leading to the conclusion that God exists. This leads us
to question, what exactly are religious experiences?

Theologians have struggled for centuries trying to define what a religious experience is, with many
believing a religious experience to be a sort of revelation, meaning that God reveals some part of hi nature
to the experient. St Thomas Aquinas believed that to be his Revealed Theology , where truths ... Show

Swinburne s third type is a strong feeling, a conviction that they were experiencing, even though there is
no phenomena surrounding the experience. The penultimate type is witnessing a perfectly normal
experience, such as the Grand Canyon, which creates a numinous experience. The final type of
experience is in perceiving a very unusual public object, like a miracle, for instance, the resurrection.

To help identify a religious experience, William James put forward four characteristics of a typical
experience. The first being passivity: how in control the experient is; as whilst you undergo a religious
experience, you take on an alternative personality outside of your own, surrendering your own control
to God. The second quality is ineffability, where the experient can t quite put the occurrence into words.
Another characteristic of a religious experience is the Noetic Quality of said experience. This quality is
the knowledge that is gained in a religious experience, knowledge that cannot be gained in a
conventional manner, and tells you something that you otherwise wouldn t know. The final quality is
transciency, where the time the experience takes doesn t dictate the significance of the experience, as
time is altered or distorted in some way, just as in a dream the dream may seem really long, whereas in
reality it s only been a few minutes
Depression And Its Effects On Society
Depression is becoming somewhat of a household topic these days with nearly 6.9% of American adults
and 350 million people worldwide suffering from depression according to the World Health
Organization. Depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness and loss of
personal interests. It is frequently called major depressive disorderor clinical depression and it can affect
the way people think, feel, and even their behavior(s) can change. Depression is more than just the
occasional blues and it is not something you can just make go away. Depression is much more prevalent
among women because women are twice as likely to develop depression compared to men. It can cause

There are many outside factors that can contribute to and cause depression. Abuse is one of those
factors, whether it is past physical, sexual, or emotional abuse they increase one s vulnerability to
clinical depression later. There are some drugs that can increase your risk for depression such as
Accutane an acne medication. Death or a loss of someone that is close to you can also increase the
risk for depression. Genetics is another risk factor increasing the risks for developing depression, it is
not so much that there is one specific gene, but a little from several genes exerting their effects
combined can predispose a person to a higher risk of developing depression. Conflict with family and
friends is another factor that can cause depression. Substance abuse is also quite a factor considering
that 30% of the people struggling with substance abuse are also suffering from depression. Sometimes
depression can go hand in hand with a serious medical illness, according to WebMD or depression
could just be triggered by a medical condition. These are just a few of the causes of depression, but
because all the causes have yet to be discovered making it impossible to list every cause of depression.
There are many different symptoms associated with depression including feelings of hopelessness and
helpfulness. People experiencing depression, according to HelpGuide.org will often have a bleak outlook

On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism Essay
On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this address is to argue for the following theses: (1) the concept of
transcendentality can be associated not only with idealism but also with materialism; (2) such a
connection was made possible by Karl Marx s theory; and (3) in the development of Marxism up to now,
theory has been tied to a political movement, which is an error of principle, for what survives of it is a
kind of social ethics which should more appropriately be called Marxism. Transcendence and immanence
are notions of relationship. Values exist sensually above the senses: e.g., the aesthetic value of a painting
is not identical with the material of the canvas and the oils on it, although it ... Show more content on

This he performs with respect to the philosophies of history which he calls substantive or analytical and
this is fully analogous to drawing the borderline between transcendent and immanent philosophical
knowledge.

It is a commonplace that Marx s theory is a continuation of the German classical philosophy Hegel s in
the first place. He, however, wanted to turn the upside down idealist dialectics the right way up, as he
said, and put it on a materialist basis. In doing so he followed not so much Feuerbach s example as the
materialism of the English and French Enlightenment with which he had already been well acquainted, as
is clear from his work Die heilige Familie. Feuerbach instead inspired Marx to preserve the humanistic
pathos, which was present in the Prometheus cult in his doctoral dissertation, also on materialistic
grounds, instead of the sunshine idealism he praised in the recommendation. Only an anthropologic
materialism could naturally serve such purposes the mature Marx, too, always categorically distanced
himself from the metaphysical and natural scientific materialisms. He also distanced himself from
Feuerbach s unhistorically anthropological materialism. His materialism can only be termed
anthropological if anthropology is understood as a historical anthropology (as Marx himself said in his
work Das Elend der
Forsaken Promises
What does the future hold? What will happen at the end of the age? Will the church be raptured up into
Heaven or will the church remain on Earth? Are the Jews still God s chosen people? Has the church
replaced Israel? These and other questions have been asked since Jesus left Earth and ascended into
Heaven. Since that day Christians have been looking and longing with eager anticipation for the return of
Christ. The study of the return of Christ, or last things, is known as Eschatology, and within Eschatology
there are several schools of thought concerning the Church and Israel. These schools of thought are
known as Covenant and Dispensational Theology. Two similar schools of thought within Dispensational
theology are known as Classical and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Boice writes, In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called out of
a normal relationship to the world in order to be a special people of God. The church is not Plan B in
God s plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of Abraham and Israel
but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he writes, The church is seen
less and less as a parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as vitally linked to and
comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament. The sharp line which is drawn between
the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to harmonize the two Testaments into one
unifying work of God throughout all of history.
TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught that
the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine, but it was also conditional and contingent on the nations
response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to the Gentiles
and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the Israelites accepted
the Messiah the Kingdom would have begun immediately, however, since Israel rejected Jesus the offer
went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since
My Trip From The Airport
My Trip to California
As we just finished going through the airport security my family and I were walking through Denver
International Airport all I could here was the chatter of people and the screeching of wheels on a
person s suitcase. I took a inhale of the smell and all I could smell is the subway we were next to. As I
kept walking I was confuzzled on where we were supposed to go, I asked my mom and she told me We
are going to Gate B45 . As we got there I was started to get hesitant because it was gonna be my first
time on a plane! Then we heard the flight attendant say over the speaker Now boarding flight to Los

around we went so Seaworld! When we first got there it was completely empty like barely anyone
there, except workers of course. We bought our tickets and went on. The first thing my family and I
did was go watch the Seal show. It was actually really funny, we sat in the Splash Zone and the seals
splashed so much water all over us and it got all of our stuff wet. Next, my brother and I went to the
humongous thrill rides, my favorite ride was the Manta . When we got on I was excited, I could hear
the wheels squeaking and then we took off I could feel the wind in my face my hair was waving
everywhere and I was having so much fun on the Manta. When we got off I rushed back to line with my
brother and said We re going on this again, I don t care what you say! And he agreed. It was the same
experience, fun, fast, chills, and much more. Later that day we met up to watch the dolphin show with my
family. We were waiting then all of a sudden we saw a bottlenose dolphin shoot out of the water and I
was amazed. I couldn t believe what all of these dolphins could do! I was still shocked what these
Dolphins could do. When we left I took a picture with the magnificent Dolphins of the show. Sea world
was on of the best and most amazing experiences of my trip to California.

I woke up to the crying

Achieving a ZEB without the grid would be very difficult, as the current generation of storage
technologies is limited.
Off grid buildings cannot feed their excess energy production back onto the grid to offset other energy
uses. As a result, the energy production from renewable resources must be oversized at all times. In many
cases (especially during the summer), excess generated energy cannot be used.
Assumption: We assume that excess on site generation can always be sent to the grid. However, the grid
may not always need the excess energy. In this scenario, on site energy storage would become necessary.

Selecting the best technology from available Supply Side renewable energy Technologies
Typical examples of various supply side renewable energy technologies available for ZEBs today include
PV, solar hot water, wind, hydroelectric, and biofuels. All these renewable sources are favorable over
conventional energy sources such as coal and natural gas, but their relative preference depends upon the
availability of the technology within the building footprint or at the site. Table 1 shows this ranking in
order of preferred application. The principles applied to develop this ranking are based on technologies
that:
Minimize overall environmental impact by encouraging energy efficient building designs and reducing
transportation and conversion losses
Will be available over the lifetime of the building
Are widely available and can be

The Physics Of Egyptian Archaeology
From the start of the Carter s article, it is made known that clearing the objects from the antechamber is
a delicate and difficult process. Each object needs to be handled carefully, or they can crumble. The
process was slow and, and put significant amount of pressure on archaeologists. One wrong move, and
evidence and knowledge from the past could be gone. Additionally, not all excavations are carried out
properly, and because of this knowledge of Egyptian Archaeologyis fifty percent less than what it should
be. Carter mentions there were many things that could have gone wrong, one of these things being theft.
Since everyone was excited about the tomb and because of the valuables, guards and security were needed
to minimize the chance of theft. Furthermore, the condition of the objects careful treatment was of
concern and, and also visitors.
The first step of the process is photography. For this, movable electric standard lighting was required to
take pictures of the chamber before anything else. The photos were developed in an empty tomb used
as a dark room. Next, they made a registering system with numbers so later they know where the object
came from in the tomb. Then, Carter describes, it was important to find a seclude storage and private
space for the objects once removed, which they found in the tomb of Seti II. This tomb was protected
from the sun and open, although there were some space issues and distance problems from the scene.
Moreover, Carter also notes
Mass Shootings In America Essay
On October 1, 2017 America was, yet again, devastated when Las Vegas suffered the United States
worst mass shooting. One man killed over 50 people and injured 527. After he was finished firing
from the 39th floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort, he committed suicide. His name was Stephan Paddock
(Yan and Park). When most people think of a mass shooting, they think of a terroristic act or someone
shooting at a large group of innocent citizens, like Columbine High School or Sandy Hook Elementary
School. In actuality, most people do not realize that whenever two or more people are injured or killed
by a gun, it is considered a mass shooting. These mass shootings happen every day in America and they

Stephan Paddock, sixty four years old, killed at least 59 people at the Harvest Music Festival in Las
Vegas making his mass shooting the new lead in deadly mass shootings. In just over a year we have set
a for the deadliest shooting in America. Paddock shot multiple assault weapons from the 39 floor at the
Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino for fifteen minutes into a crowd, injuring around 515 people and killing
at least 59. The mysterious question everyone s asking is, How did he manage to get a bulk of assault
weapons through the lobby, up to the 39 floor? Unfortunately, school shootings and threats have become
more common throughout the past 18 years. One of the first major school shootings that brought attention
to gun violence in America was the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999. According to the U.S.
History website state that two teens, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, went on a shooting spree throughout
the school. After killing 12 students and one teacher, the boys then killed themselves. During the
investigation on the boys motives, investigators came to the conclusion that most likely the shooting was
connected to bullying because the boys were members of social outcast groups, and violence in video
games. It is unfortunate that bullying may have been the cause of this awful event in history, but it is
even more upsetting that school shootings like these, have happened again at an even worse
