Nutritional status is the condition of the body resulting from
the nutrient content of the food we eat in relation to our
nutritional needs, and from the ability of our bodies to digest,
absorb and use those nutrients.

to define a person's nutrition status. It is the measurements

Pathogenesis of Development of Nutritional Deficiency. Answer the following questions below.
1. In your own words elaborate further the 3 purpose of nutritional assessment.
For me, Nutritional assessment is important as it helps our community to keep on running
and lessen the risk of spreading or worsen the disease. Its purpose is to define a patient’s
nutritional status, to define clinically relevant malnutrition, and to monitor changes in
nutritional status.
2. Explain the Pathogenesis of the development of Nutritional deficiency.
Nutritional deficiencies can be very significant to the overall health of infants and
children because growth and development can be seriously hindered by shortages in
essential vitamins or nutrients. The two most common are iron and vitamin D deficiency.
With all the different kind of diseases and other ailments that is being labeled, nutritional
deficiency must be properly assess before declaring it. The Nutritional deficiency should
be possible to demonstrate the existence of a deficiency of the nutrient by conducting a
test or see if the symptoms are aligned to the deficiency. It should also be cured by
replacement of the deficient nutrient.
CONCLUSIONS:
The nutritional assessment is necessary to the community, from new born babies to
adults. Our body requires a certain amount of nutrition to do its function. With this,
proper health assessments are required to monitor our body’s condition. Nutritionist and

dietitians and other healthcare workers are the one who does this jobs. Assessments must
be done properly to ensure what disease or what nutrient is deficient in our body. When
this are done properly, the treatments will be effective. Also if the assessments are being
conducted, the risk of having a diseases and death rates would be lesser . The health of
our community should be taken cared of to have a successful country.
