Opening Scene Evaluation Analysis

Aims
My aim for this project was to create an extract from a fictional film focusing on the narrative in the
opening sequence of a film. I also had to create a storyboard from this sequence to show my cinematic
influence in my film. The genre I have chosen to pick is a detective drama as this is seen through my
script and storyboard. As it gives an example through the matchbox as this is a stereotypical noir crime
genre. This is in the form of a close up as it has a huge amount of important to the narrative. I have taken
influence from detective TV shows such as Sherlock and Broadchurch as both of these programs are very
successful. I intended to use a range of visual styles that are similar to the previously mentioned ... Show

This shot is looking into the open sky to show Dan s last moments were in isolation. This is followed
by a quick cut to an aerial shot of Dan lying dead on the floor. This will give the spectator a shock and
creates an enigma code about his death. This will make the audience continue watching to find out the
answers to how he died. The following shot of Jackson looking ominous and out of place in the field
makes the audience suspect that he is the killer. This shot is a long shot of Jackson further showing
how isolated these two characters are. This makes the spectator ask more enigma codes on Jackson s
presence in the field making the audience question Jackson s motives. This opening sequence is very
similar to the opening of Broadchuch episode one series one as it shows a child with blood on his
hands about to jump off a cliff. My storyboard is similar to this as it shows a young adult dead on the
ground. However, my script is different to Broadchurch as it is not set in a small village. I have used
this aerial shot in an empty filed to highlight how isolated Dan was before he died. The next shot in my
storyboard was a long shot of Jackson coming into the field. I have used this shot to make the audience
think that Jackson is the killer. This is typical of the detective genre as they want audiences to always
second gest themselves when they are watching the film. This is seen in Sherlock when

United States of America Healthcare System
The US has recently adopted a healthcare policy aimed to get more Americans insured. This policy is
named the Affordable Care Act in 2010. In 2013 there were 42 million uninsured individuals in the
United States. (The Common, pg. 153) There has since been increase in individuals who are covered
either by private insurance or by Medicaid/Medicare which had a coverage increase with the new policy.
It is believed that millions of people will now have health insurance compared to previous years.
Retired individuals in the U.S. are eligible to receive benefits through Medicaid at the age of 65. Some
individuals choose to have supplemental insurance along with Medicaid, which helps increase their
benefits. If one retires before this age the can apply for the Health Insurance Marketplace.

The federal government and the cantons provide income based subsidies to individuals or households to
help cover statutory health insurance premiums; income thresholds vary widely by canton (see Swiss
Conference of Cantonal Health Ministers, 2014a for details). Overall, 29 percent of residents (2012)
benefit from individual premium subsidies. Municipalities or cantons cover the health insurance expenses
of social assistance beneficiaries and recipients of supplementary old age and disability benefits. (The

What Is A New Unknown Place Essay
Life in a new, unknown place can seem scary. It might be somewhere you have dreamt about going to
for quite some time... Or it might be somewhere you have suddenly found yourself due to unavoidable
circumstances. No matter where you are or what journey you re on, you want to feel comfortable and
accepted by the people you have never met and don t yet know anything about.
For me, I was nervous about how I might mesh in this little country of Belize. But I quickly found this
country s perfect icebreaker. It s simple and doesn t cost a dime. It s just a smile. You may want to add
a good morning, good afternoon, or good evening. But, the most important part is the smile. If you ever
find yourself in Belize, try it. I know it sounds silly, but it really does work. I guarantee you will get one
right back in return (if you re not treated to one first). I have come to learn ... Show more content on

A year later I returned to Belize on my own heading to an area I knew nothing about. I had been invited
to relocate to Punta Gorda on the southern coast of Belize on the Caribbean Sea. Again, I was in a new,
unknown place, looking to feel comfortable among new people from many cultures. Many of the
residents of this town are of Garifuna and Ketchi Mayan origins, Chinese or East Indian populations run
most stores, plus, there are Mennonites and expats from all over the world in every little corner of
Belize. Even in this great contrast of cultures it didn t take long at all for me to feel at home.
Within a day of my arrival I was walking to town, greeted with smiles and a pleasant, Good morning,
mummy, from each child I passed. One young man offered to help me navigate the rocky road I was
exploring. Storekeepers bid me a good morning as I entered their shops sincerely, not just paying lip
service as most store keeps do back home. The townspeople, recognizing that I was a stranger, came up,
introduced themselves, and asked if I needed help to find anything or any
Life Changing Experience Essay
Life Changing Experience
About one year ago I had a life changing experience, a trip to a little town called
Kerry on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. It was the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. Being in
the presence of such beauty helped me see life from a different perspective. I was just going to be happy,
appreciate what I have, be open minded, not take anything for granted, and love everyone and everything.
When I came back from
Ireland I was truly happy, nothing could make me upset. But after awhile my constant elation came to a
gradual end, but I was soon to find that even though my elation ended I was going to be a happy, loving,
and open minded person forever. And there was everyday influences like ... Show more content on

something they don t appreciate. When I think about those movies I am really happy, because I am
lucky, free, and free to seize any opportunity that comes my way. Art also reminds me of my happiness, a
single piece of art work can capture a moment of emotion or feeling. Artists like Claude Monet really
capture emotion well, in the painting, The Stroll: Camille Monet , Monet painted Camille standing in the
middle of a field, it sounds simple. But Monet did such a good job that there seems to be more, there is
emotion. That is what makes art special, emotion, and that I can have my own thoughts about what the
artist is trying to say through their painting. In the Edward
Hopper painting, Route 6 there is a real warm feeling coming from it. That warm feeling is one of the
best emotions that I have experienced, the only other time I get that feeling is when nature is at it s best
(sunsets, sunrises, grassy fields, ect.). That brings me to the artist Liz Sexton, her paintings of nature are
some of the most beautiful, natural, and unique pieces of art that I have ever seen. I think that I am on of
the luckiest people in the world to be able to appreciate this artistic beauty, that in its self makes me a
happy person. The most important influence in my
U2 V. Negativland Summary
I think that the court s ruling should be overturned because I don t believe that Negativland violated the
copyright law by sampling from U2.
In the article entitled U2 Negativland the case from our side Negativland believes their work does not
violate copyright law. Negativland asserted, It was used for purposes of fair comment, parody, and
cultural criticism (151). In other words, Negativland s work was intended to make fun of U2 s song
entitled I still haven t found what i m looking for , which is protected under the fair use part of the
copyright law.
I agree because the artist named Weird Al Yankovic. He uses the instrumentals for a popular songs and
changes the lyrics to make fun of it. Yankovic has never been sued for his work because they are
parodies. Since Negativland made a parody of U2 s I still haven t found what I m looking for , they
should not be sued.
Negativland released their album with a huge title saying U2 and Negativland in a smaller font with an
image of the WW2 U 2 spy plane on it. U2 s label, Island Records, sued Negativland claiming that they
violated the trademark law because

Negativland defended their case by asserting that artistic freedom for all is more important to the health of
society then the supplemental and extraneous incomes derived from private copyright tariffs...actually
negates the whole concept of music as a business (Adams,Mckibbins 136). (uninvited appropriation is
inevitable since our population is bombarded with electronic media ( Sampling without permission is

want to please their fans, share their talent and to express what they love to do in life. Their intended
purpose of making music is not to take money from other artists by
Cause And Effects Of Stress In College Students
Around 18.2 million to 19.7 million students enroll in college every year. Whereas about 7,000 students
drop out every day. Many students have different problems that make them decide between crosswords
whether to stick to education or go a different route in life. There are many causes and effects due to the
amount of stress collegestudents go through daily. I know this because I ve been a college studentfor about
3 months and experience stress almost every day. Three main causes why college students experience
stress is because of academic stressors, social stressors, and daily hassles. Which leads to dropouts, weight
issues, and unhealthy habits.
The first type of stress that college students experience is academically. The workload is significantly
more than the high school workload which means there s less hand holding during this time period from
both teachers and parents. Throughout high school you re giving do overs however in college do overs
don t exist. With challenging classes, scheduling issues to coordinate, difficult tests and other academic
obstacles, coupled with the most independent nature of the college learning structure, many new and
returning students find themselves studying long, hard hours.
The next type of stress college students encounter is social stress. Freshmen face the most obvious
social challenges because there leaving both there family and friends behind which is their support
system, in most cases if they don t commute back and forth to school. Trying to create a new social
network for the first time away from home and their parents most students face social stress. Living with
a roommate, balancing friends with school work, often part time jobs, dealing with the dynamics of adult
relationships can all be so difficult to weigh and lead to significant stress.
Lastly, college students feel stress when dealing with daily hassles. Many students keep crazy hours
from staying up late to study, getting up early for classes, and trying to cram in all the work and fun that
can possibly fit. These are all things that students possibly deal with daily that could cause stress even if
its the littlest situation. For example, missing the bus you needed to aboard in order to get to
Child Marriage Is A Violation Of Children
Child marriage is a forced marriage where the individual or individuals are children and under the age of
18 who cannot or do not consent to being married (Jelenic Keeley 2013). This essay argues that the best
way to prevent child marriage in Australia is to generate tougher criminalisation laws. The essay will
begin by briefly outlining the extent of child marriagein Australia before going on to illustrate a case study
that expresses the issue. The essay will then argue potential solutions, including means of tougher
criminalisation for offenders. It will further consider the importance of education for children and touch
on methods to raise awareness, before drawing on ways the community can work together to prevent child
marriage. Finally the essay will reflect on the arguments taken and conclude with the best way to prevent
child marriage in Australia.
Child marriage is a violation of children s human rights and often involves physical, emotional,
financial, sexual or psychological pressure and abuse (Levesque 1999). Approximately 14 million
children as young as 8 years of age fall victim to child marriages worldwide each year, robbing them of
their childhood, education and future dreams (Quinell 2015). A study conducted by the National
Children s and Youth Law Centre identified over 250 cases of child marriages in Australia over 24
months (Jelenic Keeley 2013). The study confirmed that over 15 Australian children are being sent
overseas each year for a forced
Gender Stereotypes In The Film Sorry
For colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf express feelings from seven
different women and the pain that they go through. These women with each other formed a bond
through their different suffering taking them from strangers to associate.Women experience a lot of
animosity throughout their lives. From being lied to, raped, beaten, let down just hurt just because.
This movie gave a vigorous slight of family life and they were many families illustrates in this movie.
They have two poems that I really enjoy reading the first is Sorry .This is a poem that women can
compare their self to and see that they are disgusted with excuses and lies. The women deals with very
different ways which men let them down and then apologize in tons of empty disappointing ways .In
this poem the women come together to speak out for the men making excuses for bad behavior and
they are just tired of it. They are sick of apologies and don t want them anymore. The other one that
stand out to me was Somebody almost walked off wid alla my stuff .This stood out because the women
enjoys her flaws and calls her old one as in ex to give her back pieces of her that was taken away. She

It gives out a strong message saying how women in general are tired of men coming in and out their
life with excuses. Saying how if they have an excuse everything is going to be good and it s ok for
them to do that over and over again .The men walks away while the women are left to bear the scars.
Between these two poems the women says that they are no longer willing to sacrifice stuff for men who
don t deserve it at all. Both of the poems have found power by overcoming their own struggle in their
relationships. Their self respect doesn t depend on men sorry s anymore they want to face the unforgotten
truth than hurt under flimsy
Hurricane Katrin The Second Largest Hurricane
Hurricane Katrina known as the fifth largest hurricane ever to hit the United States formed on August
23, 2005 and dissipated August 31, 2005. Katrina was classified as a category five hurricane with wind
speeds up to 175 mph. Katrina made headlines because of its destruction region which was Louisiana.
Many families especially African Americans were considered to be vulnerable and left to die from the
disaster. In the following I will address whether Katrina was a natural disaster ready to happen or if it
could have been prevented by an elaborate plan to evacuate the effected regions.
African American neighborhoods were devastated by Hurricane Katrina because they lived in low line
areas, whereas Whites lived in higher grounds less likely to get hit by the storms. Low income
communities were hit more because of urban areas. These areas included levees that didn t protect homes
from the storms. What is astonishing is that the government was fully aware that New Orleans levees
were failing and wouldn t hold a category five Hurricane. Yet they did nothing to protect the humans.
Federal and local government hindered and prevented the evacuation of African Americans from their
neighborhoods. Failures included not having an evacuation plan for New Orleans. IEM which stands for
Innovative Emergency Management is compromised by the government to form an evacuation plan for a
natural disaster. In reality there was no plan that IEM had for Hurricane Katrina. Here we can clearly note
Separation of Power
It should be remembered that the notion of the doctrine is in the assumptions that the three organs of the
government and its functions should be distinguishable from one another. The idea of abandoning the
notion of the doctrine means all functions of the government can be performed by one organ for example
executive takes all government functions like enacting the law, interpreting the law, provides people s
welfare, determines the rights of the people.
In our opinion, we do not wish to abandon the doctrine of separation of power but however, this notion
shall follow the Montesquieu approach as he provides for a separation of power that aims at having
separate institutions doing separate function by separate personnel and having the ... Show more content

Thus all legislative power is vested into congress, the executive power is in president, and the judiciary
power vested in the supreme court. Many of the other constitution around the world offers some degree of
separation of powers.

Separation of power promotes efficiency in the administration. Through separation of powers, each power
of the government has to be assigned with their own duties, judiciary, also legislature, and these duties
should not be interfered. To say to control administrative action it means to control executive from
interfered with other organ duties, since administrative we mean executive. Example executive not to
