What is the policy period?
Policy start date is 30-March-25 and Policy end date is 29-March-26
What is enrolment window period?
The period where new associate who has joined in the previous month or previous policy year is given an access to
add their dependent details for coverage under the insurance policy. Associate will receive a welcome mailer
before the window period with the user name and password.
How many days is the enrolment window period open during policy renewal & mid-term for new joinee?
The window period is open for approximately 15 days from 3rd April 25 to 18th April 2025 and for a new joinee
during the mid-policy period, enrolment window is provided for 15 days.
What is the coverage period for the associate and dependents enrolment?
The coverage period is from 30-March-25 to 29-March-2026 or associate’s separation date, whichever is earlier
and for new joinee coverage will be from their Date of Joining till 29-March-2024 or associate’s separation date,
whichever is earlier. On Separation scenario policy validity date on ecard would be null and void, as policy will be
active only till last working day in the organization.
What happens if I’m separated in Mid-year of the policy?
On account of separation from the organization, the coverage for all plans under Group Medi Claim Policy will end
on the last working day at Tech Mahindra and the related premium amount will be refunded on Prorata basis with
F&F Settlement in case there was no claim reported against any of the enrolled beneficiaries.

Can I increase my base policy sum insured?
No. The base policy sum insured is based on the Band of the associate. However, you can opt for a Top-Up plan by
paying an additional premium to enhance the coverage amount.
What is the age limit for dependent’s parents for enrolment insurance coverage?
The age limit is up to 90 years.
Who are the dependents eligible for coverage?
Spouse and a maximum of first two living children below 21 years, which can be extended up to 25 years only if
they are unmarried and unemployed girls, and are children pursuing higher studies (subject to submission of
Bonafide Certificate from the institution).
Differently abled children will be provided coverage without any age restriction subject to child being dependent
on parents and subject to the limit of children in plan (subject to declaration from Associate and HR confirmation).
The third and fourth child may be covered in the policy. (Premium to be borne by the Associate)
Any one set of parents / parents- in- law (Premium to be borne by the Associate)
Can I add one parent & one parent-in-law under Plan-B?
No, you can only add any one set of parents/parent-in-law and adverse selection is not allowed.
Is there a difference in premium if I add one parent?
Premium shall remain the same whether you add one or both parents. Premium charged is floater based and not
on per life premium basis.
I have three children. Will my third child be eligible for coverage as well?
The third and fourth child may be covered in the policy. The Associate will however need to pay an additional
premium per child from the below premium. The coverage amount will be as per existing Base Plan Type. Premium
will be applicable as per the below grid. The premium mentioned is per child, if associate is adding 3rd Child & 4th
Child under the coverage. Please refer policy T&C Copy for Premium or Medi Asssit portal online enrolment page.
How do I pay the premium for opting 3rd & 4th Child Coverage, Parental / Top-Up policy?
The applicable premium shall be deducted in 3 equal installments effective from your next salary and for associates
joining from 01-December-2025/01-Jan-2026 onwards, the applicable premium shall be deducted in single
installment from their ensuing pay check.
What happens if I do not enroll my dependents this year?
The coverage will not be provided for dependents in the current year policy. Mid-term inclusion is allowed only for
the spouse within 45 days from date of marriage and for new born child within 45 days from date of birth (up to
two living children). No mid-term inclusions allowed for other dependents (like parents / parents in law, spouse
and children existing at the policy inception).
What is Plan A and Plan B under Group Mediclaim Policy (GMP)?
Plan A: This is a company sponsored plan and will cover Self, Spouse & up to 2 dependent children (Associates from
India will be covered by default).
Plan B: This Plan covers associate parents/parents in law, with additional premium borne by the associate.
What does “Lock-in Period” for Plan B denotes?
Dependents enrolled under Plan B for insurance coverage will be locked for 3 Plan years. If there are no
amendments made during the year of unlock post 3 years completion, Plan B lock in will continue for another 3
plan years.
The premium to be paid on yearly basis (annual renewal) depending upon the rates applied as per the policy terms
and conditions & the same to be borne by associates. “The premium changes on Plan B and Top Up would
commensurate with market behaviour.”
On account of demise of any dependent enrolled under Plan B, associate can write to us at [email protected]
along with Death certificate for removal of name during policy renewal period only.
How to enroll the dependents post window period?
Only in case of newly married spouse or new born child, you can add them within 45 days from the date of
marriage (Spouse) and date of birth (New born child) as long as there is an empty slot.
Can I avail income tax exemption on the premium paid by me?
As per regulations, only Associates located in India (during enrolment period) can avail income tax exemption
under Section 80 D for premium paid for optional Plans i.e. Plan B, Top-Up and Third and Fourth Child coverage.
This will be reflected in Form 16 prepared by finance. You can submit your salary slips which have the premium
deduction as a proof for availing tax exemption.
If an Associate has selected Plan B and leaves the organisation in mid of financial year will the policy will be
active for Plan B dependent?
No. The coverage for all plans under Group Mediclaim Policy will end the on the last working day at Tech Mahindra.
Is there any option to declare the Plan B premium for next two years?
No. You will not be able to declare the premium for next two years. The premium rates would vary
Year on year. The premium on Voluntary Plans will be subjected to change as per the prevailing market conditions.
In case post enrolment associate moves to onsite, will the coverage continues for immediate dependents and
parents/parents-in-law?
Yes, the coverage will be available for immediate dependents and parents/parents-in-law residing in India for the
policy period or the last working day of associate. Subject to dependents enrolment under the policy.
What is a Top-Up policy? How to enroll under Top-Up policy?
Top-up policy is the additional sum insured over and above your base sum (Plan A & B/C) insured. This is an optional
policy to enhance your base policy sum insured and you will be eligible for an additional sum insured of
2/3/4/5/10/15/20 lakhs. The applicable premium for Top Up policy will be displayed on enrolment page and the same
has to be borne by the associate. The Top Up cover can be taken only at the time of enrolment and not later.
15% Co-payment is applicable for all claims under Top up policy for Parents / Parents-in-law.
10% Co-payment in Top up plan for Self, Spouse and Children.
Can I enrol my partner as a dependant without marriage?
We respect the fundamental rights and constitutional doctrine Section 377 of Indian Penal Code and appreciate
you enrolling yourself & your partner for Medical Insurance. Request you to send an email
to [email protected] along with your GID and Contact number to connect if any further information required.
We will maintain confidentiality of the vested information. If you fail to enroll within the defined timelines,
enrolment may only be done in the next annual renewal. In case of revocation or modification of the self-
declaration, it is the associate’s responsibility to intimate at [email protected].
What is the additional coverage in this policy?
Medical Insurance benefits for Same Gender Partners included in the policy, subject to policy terms and conditions.
Insured / primary member should confirm the Partner’s details with a Self-attested declaration form.
The partner shall be covered prior to commencement of the policy. No mid-term inclusion or change of partner is
permitted during the policy period.
Differently abled children will be provided coverage without age restriction subject to child being dependent on
parents and subject to the limit of children in plan (subject to declaration from Associate and HR confirmation).
This insurance coverage is for treatment taken within Geographical limits of India only.
