categorizes tasks by urgency and importance) can help students and adults focus on what truly matters.
For example, studying for tomorrow’s exam is more urgent than organizing your desk.

Creating a schedule or routine is also essential. Daily planners, to-do lists, or time-blocking methods can
turn vague intentions into clear, actionable steps. Even using your phone’s calendar to set reminders can
help establish habits. A consistent routine builds discipline and creates mental space by reducing
decision fatigue.

Another crucial part of time management is avoiding distractions. Social media, gaming, and multitasking
are major productivity killers. Studies show that every time a person is distracted, it takes the brain
several minutes to fully refocus. Setting specific periods for focus—such as 25-minute “Pomodoro”
sessions followed by short breaks—can drastically increase efficiency.

But good time management isn’t just about working non-stop. Breaks and rest are equally important.
Proper sleep, physical activity, and downtime actually improve concentration and energy levels.
Overworking leads to exhaustion and reduced performance. Managing time well includes knowing when
to stop.

Time management also boosts confidence. Completing tasks on time builds a sense of control and
accomplishment. Instead of constantly feeling behind, you feel prepared and organized. This leads to
better grades, healthier relationships, and lower stress.
