1. “Learning is a treasure that follows its owner throughout life”
2. The case that have been assigned to us said: Teach an EFL class of 30
11-year-old students, 7th grade of basic elemental education, from a
private school.
3. The skill taught was reading, which is a fundamental activity that allows
individuals to comprehend, and extract meaning from various patterns of
information.
4. Teach reading comprehension is crucial as it fosters critical thinking,
enhances vocabulary, and reinforce communication skills.
5. Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved
in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling.
6. What are the signs and symptoms of dyslexia?
Difficulty spelling simple words. For example When given the task to write
'cat,' he often wrote 'kat' or 'cad.'
Reluctance to read aloud in class For example avoided eye contact,
hesitate
Problems telling apart letters with similar shapes, such as “d” and “b” or
“p” and “q.”
Mixing up the position of sounds in a word. For ex. Aminal - forg

7. I’m going to present the pedagogical theories that helped us to design
our lesson plan.
One of the most influential is constructivism.Because Constructivism is based
on the belief that learning thrives when learners actively engage in the process
of meaning and knowledge construction.
Our teaching philosophy places a strong emphasis on active student
participation. We believe that students learn best when they are engaged in the
learning process. To accomplish this, we rely on a variety of teaching strategies,
including group work, discussions, and academic games.
It should be noted that constructivism still holds a prominent position in current
educational practices. Its emphasis on a learner-centered approach fits perfectly
with our commitment to fostering meaningful and enduring learning
experiences.
8. Cooperative learning
We incorporate cooperative learning. This method involves dividing students
into smaller groups to work together on a common assignment. This not only
fosters collaboration but also nurtures essential social skills such as
communication, teamwork, and leadership.
According to Johnson and Johnson (2014), cooperative learning is the most
active learning method.
We decided to apply cooperative learning because it promotes critical thinking,
problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of subject matter, which are
essential skills for success both inside and outside the classroom.
It is important to remember that in the cooperative classroom .students work as
a team to create and learn, but each student is responsible for their own
performance, This enhances learner autonomy and cooperation.
9. Gamification
Gamification is the integration of digital games and interactive activities into the
curriculum. In our context, gamification played an important role in the
development of our activities. By incorporating motivational learning strategies
based on digital games into the classroom, we provided students with a sense of
engagement with the activities taking place inside the classroom, thus creating
an immersive learning environment.
The benefits that gamification allowed us are:
First Increased engagement: Gamification increases students' active
participation by making activities more enjoyable, interactive and rewarding.
Motivation and behavior change: In various contexts, the teacher motivate
participants and improve learning outcomes.
Improved learning and retention: Makes the learning experience more
interactive and immersive, which increases learner engagement and knowledge
retention.
Social interaction and collaboration: Is an effective team collaboration tool
that encourages social interaction.
In addition, We recognize the potential of games to enhance student
participation, and overall learning experience by introducing an element of
attraction to educational activities.
Finally, Constructivism, Cooperative learning and Gamification remain at the
forefront, ensuring that learning is not only effective, but also enjoyable for our
students.

10.Curricular Planning- Julissa
11.According to the Ministry of Education, the National Curriculum for English as a
Foreign Language in Ecuador aims to establish a comprehensive structure for
teaching and learning English in educational institutions nationwide.
12.Our lesson plan is based on the 4 steps of ERCA experience, reflection,
conceptualization, and application. The topic our class is Seven Wonder
of the world.
13.It's important to highlight that the all class was developing in groups (6
groups 5 members in each one) to facilitate the learning process.
14.Objective:
Students will be able to read a short text related to the seven wonders of the
world and understand the main ideas and details, using digital tools and
collaborative work to solve a problem and answer questions.
15.In Experience we use a game called Rosco World. T This game provides
a description of one of the world's wonders, and the students must guess
the correct answer as quickly as possible. This activity helps to cultivate
critical thinking skills and encourages students to work together in an
exciting environment.
16.For reflection, the educator initiates a question that prompts students to
reflect on the topic. (and mention the reasons why they chose that one.)
A duration of five minutes was allocated for the designated activities.
17.In Conceptualization we elaborated an interesting reading. (As you can
see in the picture with some relevant information) This resource is used
during the development of the class. In the case of the student with dyslexia a
different reading was assigned using visual aids.
18.The students play a game called World Map Adventure where The teacher
randomly selects countries and challenges the students to identify the unique wonders
located in each country. The time assigned for the conceptualization part was
10 minutes.
19.And the last one is application we create a Roll and Retell game. In this
activity the learners had to roll the dice and depending on the number that
Strengths
A key strength of my pedagogical approach has been the creation of appropriate
classroom activities that capture the attention of the whole class. Engaging
activities such as Roll and Retell and Rosco World contributed significantly to
creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment.
Efficient time management is another standout strength, ensure a seamless flow
of activities and maximize learning within the allocated time frame
And lastly, the effective use of technology in the classroom has been proven to
significantly increase student engagement and improve the overall learning
experience.A notable example of this strength is the World Map Activity, which
takes students on an engaging journey around the world through a presentation
of a world map. By leveraging modern digital tools, learners can be provided
with immersive and interactive learning experiences that facilitate their
comprehension and retention.

Weaknesses
However, aimd these strengths, it is crucial to acknowledge areas for
improvement.
We identified as a significant weakness the performance of an inappropriate
activity and limited interaction with a student with dyslexia Our focus on
respecting allotted time meant that we sometimes overlooked the specific need
of student with dyslexia which reveals an aspect that requires improvement.
Another weakness is the teacher interneves a lot during group activities.
We noticed that by intervening too much in the activities we are limiting the
autonomy of the students and the opportunity to develop their social skills.

Reflection
During a demo class , I noticed that being able to adapt was really important for
us to learn effectively. It was great to see that the students were engaged and
understood the topic quickly. Furthermore, we had planned different activities to
achieve the learning objective and facilitate the learning process, but we quickly
realized that some activities needed to be adjusted according to the needs of the
children. During the class it could be observed that the students had an active
participation, the instructions given during the demo class were clear for the
students because it could be observed that they quickly grasped the idea about
the topic and the established activities.
Recommendations Eimy
❖ Provide adequate time for teachers and students to carry out the activities
and ensure the quality of the teaching-learning process.
❖ Adapt activities appropriately and provide additional support for the
student with educational needs to understand and complete tasks. This
adaptation ensures that all students, regardless of their needs, have the
opportunity to participate fully in the educational process.
❖ Establish specific time intervals during group activities in which the
teacher refrains from intervening. This will foster student autonomy and
promote the development of social skills.
❖ In short, It is important to create a positive and inclusive classroom
environment in which all students feel valued and respected. As teachers,
we must foster open communication and encourage students to share their
thoughts and ideas. In that way the inclusive environment will contribute
to a more enriching teaching-learning process.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my tutor Msc. Fernando Riera for the support,
guidance, and expertise, which played an important role in the research. Special
thanks to my partner in crime Eimy Ruiz and my family who have been supporting
me during all these years of the career.
