Raw Material (Herbs)
1. Quarantine:
Lot received in Quarantine, Sampling process takes place by specified
committee which is formed of at least three persons (sampler, accountant,
supervisor of the raw material store "Under supervision of Q.C Lab.")

* Sampling takes place according to E.P. method four samples of each lot are
collected:
1st Sample sent to the Quality Control Laboratory of where it is inspected for
1. Physical examination
2. Microscopical examination
3. Chemical tests of purity
4. Microbiological examination
The Quality Control Laboratory is responsible of edition for a certificate
for each lot containing date of reception, analysis, name of material to be
inspected, lot number, items inspected & there results.
2 nd Sample sent to the Central Laboratory of Ministry of Agriculture to be
inspected for the pesticides, aflatoxins and trace elements then
certificates are obtained.
3rd & 4 th Samples sent to the Production to determine the percent of purity.
Finally, the person in charge signed the certificate:
If conform (taking green label& released to raw material store)
if not conform (taking red label, rejected & returned to supplier)
2. Raw Material Store
Raw material store
Lots with green label
Stored at room temperature
Temp.: 25 ± 2 oC
Humidity:55 ± 5
Temperature and humidity should be monitored 3 times/day
daily.
Storing in bales on woody ballets, on metal stand with
label containing all information about the sample:
Material Name, Lot Number, Quantity,
Supplier, Date of reception, Date of expiration, date of
certificate.
N.B:
- Each lot should be discharged according to date reception i.e. First in,
First out.
- Cleaning of store according to our SOP, S
- Inspection of rat traps every 3 days.
3. Preparing Section
Processing of Raw Material according to the Chart Below
Raw Material Store
Fumigation if required in (75% CO2 &25% O2),
temperature (27 -29 o C) to kill insects & eggs.
Preparation Section
Initial Cleaning to remove foreign matter (sand, clay, feather…)
by mean of Aspiration, Gravity, Magnet.
Then material after initial cleaning is processed by:
Garbling machine, cutting machine, Sieving machine
Prepared Material
Processing for either
Simple herb Mixture of two herbs or more
(by Manual Mixing)
Sample to Q.C. Laboratory to take
certificate
1- Date of beginning work & end 2- Material name 3- Lot Number
4- Quantity at beginning& at end 5- Process 6- Machine no. & type
7- Workers 8- Signature of Supervisor & Production manager
4. Packing Store
Packing material should be inspected for each quantity (release certificate
with sample ID, Quantity, Date of reception, Date of analysis, supplier);
stored in Packing stores on Metal stands with in ballets certificate of
analysis.

We collect all the data concerning each batch of Lots for traceability.
