DAILY WEATHER REPORT FOR TAMILNADU, PUDUCHERRY & KARAIKAL AREA

I) SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 0830 HRS IST:

a) Rainfall: Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Tamilnadu. Dry weather prevailed over
Puducherry and Karaikal area.
Chief amount of rainfall in centimeters: Mambzhathuraiyaru (dist Kanyakumari), Anaikedanku (dist
Kanyakumari), Naduvattam (dist Nilgiris), Chinnakalar (dist Coimbatore) 2 each, Cincona (dist Coimbatore),
Tiruvallur (dist Tiruvallur), Thuckalay (dist Kanyakumari), Valparai Pap (dist Coimbatore), Valparai Pto (dist
Coimbatore), Valparai Taluk Office (dist Coimbatore), Upasi Tea Research Aws (dist Coimbatore), Pulipatti (dist
Madurai), Upper Gudalur (dist Nilgiris) , Avalanche (dist Nilgiris), Devala (dist Nilgiris) 1 each.

b) Description of temperature:

Tendency:
Generally no large change with slight falling tendency in maximum temperature over
Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area during the past 24 hrs.

Departure from normal:

Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2-4°C at many places over Tamilnadu and
Puducherry; generally near normal over rest Tamilnadu & Karaikal area.

Madurai_AP recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.6°C over Tamilnadu.

Coimbatore_AP recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0°C in the plains of
Tamilnadu.
