6.1 INSERTING, EDITING AND DELETING TEXT
We can add text by typing directly into the document window just like any other
text, editor or word processor (such as Microsoft Word), and you can also edit text
in the same way as with and word processor, using the keyboard and mouse-for
example, you delete text by selecting it and pressing the Delete key.
6.2 UNDERSTANDING AND UsING RELATIVE FONT
SIZE
If you allow font size to be relative, font size may change depending on how it is
displayed in a browser. Using relative font size has several advantages:
. Makes websites more accessible and readable
.Can be set relative to surrounding elements
AllowS a user to change the text size in browsers
If we want a smaller or bigger font size, click on the font size icon in the Format
toolbar.

You can format text (or change its appearance) through the Format toolbar or the
Format menu.

Changing Font Face
Unless we specify a particular font face, the user's browser will display our pages
using its default font face, which is usually Times New Roman. Bear in mind that if
we specify a font face for our web page that the user does not have installed on
their computer, the browser will display the default font face.
To change font type
1. Highlight the required text.
2. Choose Format> Font.
3. Click on a required font face.
Font Colour
To change the font colour, click on top part of the colour chip in the Format
toolbar.

Click on a colour to select it.
Alternatively:
1. Select the text to colour.
2. Click the Format menu.
3. Click Text Colour and select a colour.
4. Click OK.
Font Styles
BIU
Clicking any of the three buttons above will make the text Bold, Italic and
Underline. Note that underline should be used sparingly as it resembles a
hyperlink.
To remove all text styles (bold, italic, and so on) from selected text:
1. Select the text.
2. Open the Format menu and choose Remove All Text Styles.
3. Continue typing.

1. Select the text to colour.
2. Click the Format menu.
3. Click Colour and select a colour.
4. Click OK.
