Item 1

A 10 year old child showed a rare health condition like pot belly, stunted growth, poor
nail development, low appetite and frequent sickness which made the mother much
worried. Due medical examination, the doctor advised the mother to improve on the
diet of her child to better his condition. Food solution X provided is the one where the
child has been feeding.

Task

Carryout a scientific investigation on solution X to identify the food nutrients in


solution X and use accordingly your findings to advise the mother.

Tom and Mukasa are farmers whose gardens are located 300m apart. Immediately
after weeding his bush banana plantation, Tom went to help his friend Mukasa to plant
millet in his garden but. Some of them had seen in Tom’s garden and wondered how
these plants reached his garden he collected specimens P, Q and R from this garden.

Task

(a) Using observable features, identify each of the specimens P, Q and R

(b) State with reasons the specimens most likely to have been brought to Mukasa’s
garden un intestinally.
