Computer Software
Computer software is the collection of instructions, also called programs, that tell a computer
how to perform tasks. Software is invisible and works inside the hardware. There are two main
types: System software and Application software. System software includes operating systems
like Windows, Linux, and macOS, which manage all the hardware and create a platform for
other software to work. Application software includes programs like Microsoft Word, Google
Chrome, or Adobe Photoshop, which help users do specific tasks like typing, browsing the
internet, or editing photos. Software is written in programming languages like Python, Java, and
C++. Without software, a computer would not be able to do anything, even turn on properly.
Software updates are important to fix bugs and add new features to programs.
