HOW
TO
INCREAS
E YOUR MEMORY
Hello guys!
If you feel that you cannot keep the things you are studying in your memory, read this article and
practice what includes in it. You will feel much better than before.
Loss of memory is a common issue nowadays. Because students have to study more subjects and most
of subjects are much complicated than before.
But every problem has a solution. You’ll find many ways to increase your memory after reading this full
article. You don’t need to do everything it includes. Just follow what you can do and try to practice new
things you didn’t do before.
Here are few ways to increase your memory. Try it and don’t forget to leave your valuable feedback. It
will help me to write a better article next time.
1. Eat a healthy diet.
A strong memory depends on the health and vitality of your brain.
Eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Choose low-fat protein sources, such as fish, beans and skinless
poultry. What you drink also counts. Too much alcohol can lead to confusion and memory loss.
2. Sleep well
Most adults need between 7.5 to 9 hours of sleep every night in order to avoid sleep deprivation. Not
getting enough sleep has been linked to memory loss. Make getting enough healthy sleep a priority. If
snoring disrupts sleep, make an appointment to see your health care provider. Avoid all screens for at
least an hour before bed. The blue light emitted by phones, TVs, computers, and tablets trigger
wakefulness and suppresses hormones such as melatonin that make you sleepy.
3. Be physically active every day. Don’t skip the physical exercise.
Physical activity raises blood flow to the whole body, including the brain. This might help keep your
memory sharp.
The Department of Health and Human Services recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate
aerobic activity for adults, such as brisk walking, or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, such
as jogging. It's best if this activity is spread throughout the week. If you don't have time for a full
workout, try a few 10-minute walks throughout the day.
5. Stay mentally active
Just as physical activity keeps your body in shape, activities that engage your mind help keep your brain
in shape. And those activities might help prevent some memory loss. Do crossword puzzles. Read. Play
games. Learn to play a musical instrument. Try a new hobby. Volunteer at a local school or with a
community group.
6. Stay organized
You're more likely to forget things if your home is cluttered or your notes are in disarray. Keep track of
tasks, appointments and other events in a notebook, calendar or electronic planner. You might even
repeat each entry out loud as you write it down to help keep it in your memory. Keep to-do lists up to
date. Check off items you've finished. Keep your wallet, keys, glasses and other essential items in a set
place in your home so they are easy to find.
Limit distractions. Don't do too many things at once. If you focus on the information that you're trying to
remember, you're more likely to recall it later. It also might help to connect what you're trying to
remember to a favorite song or a familiar saying or idea.
7. Change the subject.
If you are following the same subject for a long time period, it may cause your brain try to reject what
you are studying. Just change the subject if you feel bored and study another subject. It will make your
brain refreshed and you won't feel sleepy and boring.
8. Listen to music.
Listen to one of your favourite songs after some time and you feel better than before. Start again to
your studies in a fresh mind.
9. Focus.
Our brain can do several things at once. Sometimes I see some students write down notes without
thinking about what are they writing. They are thinking about some other things. It does not insert life in
to your notes and If you are thinking about some other things while studying, you cannot focus on the
subject and you will not get it in to your memmory. Some students draw some cartoons on their
notebooks while listning to the lecture. They are focusing on the drawning and many parts of the lecture
will not reach to your brain. Always keep your brain focusing on the lecture.
