NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO CLASS-XI AGAINST VACANT SEATS DURING THE
SESSION 2025-26
As envisaged in National Policy of Education (NEP), 1986, Govt. of India has set up co-educational,
fully residential institutions named Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in 35 State / UTs excluding Tamil
Nadu. At present 689 such Vidyalayas have been sanctioned.
The main objective of these Vidyalayas is to provide good quality modern education including a strong
component of culture, inculcation of moral values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities
and physical education to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas, irrespective to their
family’s socio-economic condition. It is proposed to fill up likely vacant seats available in Class-XI in
JNVs.
Applications are accordingly invited from eligible students for admission to Class XI against the vacant
seats likely to be available in JNVs during the academic year 2025-26. Admission will be made on the
basis of performance of students in Class X Board Examinations conducted by CBSE / State Education
Board.
Eligibility
➢ Date of birth of the candidate must be between 01.06.2008 to 31.07.2010 (both dates are inclusive).
➢ The candidate must have passed Class X from a recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other
State Education Board) of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located during the
academic session 2024-25.
➢ Only a student securing 60% or above (First class) in class X is eligible to apply.
The candidate opting for Science Stream must have at least 60% marks in Science subject and
candidate opting for Mathematics in any stream must have at least 60% marks in Mathematics in
class X.
Selection Criteria
1. Preference will be given to:
• Candidates from CBSE affiliated Schools
• If seats still remain vacant, candidate from other recognized State Boards may be considered,
strictly in order of merit.
2. Merit list will be prepared and students will be selected only against the vacancies based on the
marks obtained in class X.
3. Stream wise merit list will be prepared for a JNV in accordance with the criteria decided by the
Samiti.
How to Apply
Any eligible candidate can apply by submitting the application form through ONLINE or OFFLINE
mode by visiting the link so generated by the JNV concerned or by obtaining application form from JNV
concerned or downloading from the website www.navodaya.gov.in or the website of the JNV concerned.
Candidates may submit the duly filled form on the Email Id of the JNV concerned or in physical form.
The last date to submit the APPLICATION FORM is 10th August, 2025.
