On March 26, 2025, we held a session to discuss the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of
1995 (RA 7877). The goal was to help participants better understand the law, which addresses
sexual harassment in workplaces and educational institutions. The discussion focused on what
constitutes sexual harassment, including verbal, non-verbal, and physical forms, and the rights
of victims under this law.

We also covered the steps for filing complaints, the role of employers and educational

Narrative Report from the Seminar about “RA6713 incorporating data privacy act and
cyber security”By Primrose J.Zamora

On March 26, 2025, we conducted a session focusing on Republic Act 6713, which is
the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and how it
integrates with the Data Privacy Act and cybersecurity. The session aimed to educate
participants on the importance of ethical behavior in government service, alongside ensuring
data protection and cybersecurity in today’s digital world.

The discussion began by explaining the provisions of RA 6713, which set ethical
standards for public officials, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and proper use of public
resources. The session then explored how these ethical standards are critical in safeguarding
personal and sensitive data, highlighting the role of the Data Privacy Act in protecting citizens'
information. The importance of cybersecurity in preventing data breaches and ensuring online
safety was also covered, with practical tips on how to secure personal and organizational data.

By the end of the session, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of how


RA 6713, the Data Privacy Act, and cybersecurity measures are interlinked in promoting good
governance, protecting data, and ensuring online safety. The session encouraged public
officials to be more aware of their responsibilities in handling information securely and ethically.

Regional Seminar

ICpEP Updates

On March 29, 2025, we attended a talk brought up ICpEP (Institute of Computer Engineers

of the Philippines) updates. The event was informative and motivating, especially for

graduating students like us who are preparing to enter the real world of work. It was a great

moment to learn more about the current direction of our organization and what to expect

after graduation.

The session was led by Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, the ICpEP National President. He shared

key ideas about life after college, including what kind of jobs are best suited for those who

love coding and how to make the most of our skills in the industry. He also discussed some

of the top universities around the world for computer engineering, encouraging us to

continue learning and growing even after we graduate. One crucial part of the session was

the election of the new ICpEP National Board, which gave us a glimpse into how leadership

works in our professional organization.

Overall, the session was a beneficial experience. It made us think on our goals and gave us a

clearer idea of the opportunities and challenges ahead. I left the session feeling more

encouraged and confident about the path I'm taking as a future computer engineer.

AI on Work

The session was hosted by Anrem J. Balontong, who shared his knowledge about how AI is

changing the way we work and how it’s becoming a valuable tool in many industries. It was

both interesting and eye-opening, especially for us future computer engineers.

Mr. Balontong described how AI is now being used to automate tasks, improve decision-

making, and even create new job opportunities. He also talked about the importance of

adapting to these changes by learning new skills and staying updated with the latest

technologies. The event brought up how AI isn’t here to replace us but to work alongside us,

making our jobs easier and more efficient.

I found the talk very relevant and motivating. It made me realize that as technology

continues to evolve, we also need to keep growing and learning. The event encouraged me

to explore AI more deeply and think about how I can use it in my future career.

AI + Digitalization in the Industry

It was about AI and Digitalization in the Industry, presented by Angelo Patrimonio. The

session discussed how industries are evolving by integrating artificial intelligence and

digital tools into their processes. It was an informative talk that showed us how fast

technology is transforming the way businesses operate.

Mr. Patrimonio talked about how AI helps improve productivity, decision-making, and even

customer experience in different fields like manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. He also

emphasized the role of digitalization in streamlining operations, reducing human error, and

increasing efficiency. It was interesting to see real-world examples of how these

technologies are already being used in companies today.

This talk made me realize how key it is to be adaptable and tech-savvy in the modern

workplace. As a computer engineering student, I felt inspired to learn more about how I can

contribute to this digital shift in the future. It made me realize that staying updated with current trends
is key to staying relevant in the industry.

Computer Engineering Educational Tour
Narrative Report
May 5–9, 2025

Day 1 – Monday, May 5, 2025

Our educational journey began at 12:00 AM, when we gathered at St. Anthony’s College to
prepare for the trip. At 1:00 AM, we departed from school, filled with excitement and curiosity
for the days ahead.
We arrived at NAIA Terminal 2 around 6:40 AM and had breakfast at McDonald’s, Newport.
Soon after, we traveled to Subic to begin our scheduled company visits.
Our first stop was the SBMA Law Enforcement, Communication Branch, where we learned how
communication systems assist in law enforcement operations. We had lunch at Cabalen
Restaurant, sampling a variety of Filipino buffet dishes.
In the afternoon, we visited the Vessel Traffic Management System at SM Olongapo Central,
where we gained insights into maritime control and vessel tracking systems.
We then traveled to Baguio City, arriving in the evening and checking in at Vivo Hotel. After
settling in, we explored the vibrant Baguio Night Market at Burnham Park. The cool evening
breeze, delicious street food, and shopping for souvenirs made it a delightful end to our first
day. There was also plenty of picture-taking and bonding moments.
We were accompanied throughout the day by our tour guides from Maynilad Travel Agency—
Ate Jen, Kuya Odi, and our bus driver Tatay Vic. Kuya Odi served as our main speaker, giving us
detailed background and trivia about every location. Tatay Vic, whom we fondly called “Tatay,”
also shared stories and discussed historical facts about many of the places we passed by. Their
presence and guidance made our journey smoother and more enriching.
Day 2 – Tuesday, May 6, 2025

We began the day with breakfast at Vivo Hotel, followed by a trip to La Trinidad, Benguet,
where we visited the famous Strawberry Farm. There, we learned about local farming methods
and got to purchase fresh strawberries, jams, and local souvenirs. This was another opportunity
for memorable photos and bonding.
Afterward, we had lunch at Good Taste, a popular restaurant known for its delicious and
budget-friendly meals. In the afternoon, we visited Mines View Park, a scenic area offering
views of the Cordillera mountains, native crafts, and more photo opportunities.

Later that day, we departed for Manila. The long bus ride was made enjoyable with karaoke,
laughter, and games, which made everyone feel closer and more connected. Our guides,
especially Kuya Odi, continued sharing fun facts and trivia during the ride, while Tatay Vic
ensured our safe travel.
Upon arriving in Manila, we checked in at Amelie Hotel Manila in Ermita. After settling in, we
had our dinner provided at the hotel, giving us a chance to rest and recharge after the long trip.
Day 3 – Wednesday, May 7, 2025

After breakfast, we headed to Quezon City for company visits. Our first stop was the PAGASA Weather
Forecasting Center, where we learned about climate monitoring and weather data collection.

Lunch was at Tramway Buffet Garden on Timog Avenue. We continued the afternoon with a visit to
Columbia Wire and Cable Co., where we learned about wire production, safety standards, and quality
control processes.

Later, we had time for shopping and malling, followed by dinner at Sitio Verde in Banawe, QC. We
returned to the hotel to rest and prepare for another full day.

Throughout the day, Kuya Odi provided detailed explanations during our visits and gave insightful
commentary during our travels between stops, making our learning continuous and engaging.

Day 4 – Thursday, May 8, 2025

We started early again with breakfast at the hotel before heading to Admatel (DOST) in Taguig. There,
we saw firsthand how advanced testing equipment is used in electronics and materials analysis.

After lunch at Korah Koorah, we enjoyed Tagaytay sightseeing, including a scenic stop at Picnic Grove,
where we enjoyed the cool climate and picturesque views of Taal Lake.

In the late afternoon, we visited Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where we enjoyed various
thrilling rides and observed the use of automation and safety technology in amusement parks.

Dinner was at Romantic Baboy, where we enjoyed unlimited Korean BBQ. The day ended with a bus ride
back to the hotel.

Day 5 – Friday, May 9, 2025

We checked out early and had breakfast at the hotel. Our first visit was to Hytec Power, Novaliches,
where we were introduced to automation systems and training platforms useful in the engineering field.

We had lunch at Kamay-Kainan, Kalayaan, QC, and then visited IBC 13 in Capitol Hills. At the TV station,
we learned about broadcast systems, control rooms, and the technical side of media production.

In the evening, we had our final malling/shopping stop at MOA(Mall of Asia), where we bought last-
minute souvenirs and reflected on our journey.

As always, Kuya Odi kept us informed and entertained throughout the day, and Tatay Vic ensured our
travels were safe and comfortable.

By 10:00 PM, we transferred to NAIA Terminal 2 for our return flight.

Day 6 – Saturday, May 10, 2025

Our flight to Iloilo departed at 4:10 AM, officially marking the end of our unforgettable five-day
educational tour.

Reflection

This educational tour was more than just an academic experience—it was a personal journey of growth,
friendship, and discovery. The company visits exposed us to the practical applications of our Computer
Engineering course, while the scenic spots gave us a chance to appreciate culture, nature, and
technology.

We were fortunate to have been guided by the warm and knowledgeable team from Maynilad Travel
Agency—Ate Jen, Kuya Odi, and Tatay Vic. Their dedication, care, and professionalism made our tour
informative, comfortable, and fun. Kuya Odi’s daily discussions taught us more than we could have
expected, while Tatay Vic’s safe driving and historical narrations made every long bus ride a learning
opportunity. We are deeply thankful for their guidance.

This tour taught us valuable lessons not only in engineering but also in camaraderie, independence, time
management, and appreciation for both tradition and innovation. We are grateful for this opportunity
and will carry these memories with us as we move forward in our academic and personal lives.
