Skit: Senior 6 – for Senior 1s

Narrator: Meet John — he’s not exactly a star student, and he’s definitely not
prepared for his first day of school.
Scene 1
Alarm clock. Setting.
He slowly sits up and looks for his phone. He turns off his alarm and covers himself
in a blanket. It rings again.
john: Let me sleep! It’s too early.
john: I don’t want to go to school. So I’ll use my devious master plan.
He starts to practice his cough and sniffle.
He tries to go to sleep again. Alarm rings.
Mom: Wake up, john!
john: Okay! I’m awake! Stop!
Scene 2
Narrator: John goes downstairs and he’s got a plan. A terrible, obvious, see-through
plan.
MOM is busy at the counter, making breakfast.
john walks in, acting sick.
john : Hey mom.
MOM : Hey, are you ready for school today?
john: Uh... about that. I don't think I can go. I feel... I feel really, really sick. I think I
got infected with arthritis or a fever or something. Cough cough
She walks over and puts a hand on his forehead.
MOM: You’re not warm at all.
john: (bad coughing and sniffling) It’s like a twisting in my stomach, and I’m
shaking all over.
MOM: That’s just you being nervous. I understand. A new year is a big change for
you. Now come on, get ready for school. Quick!
john: heavy coughing
MOM: I am not falling for that. You are not sick. Get your books and prepare.
john: Fine!
John begins to walk faster, suddenly looking healthier.
Scene 3
Narrator: John walks to school with the pressure of the school year on his shoulders.
He thinks that maybe he could escape… until Jack and Ann show up.

(He walks across the stage.)

john: I could just… hide. I bet nobody would know. I hate these boring classes.
(He walks back.)

Jack: Hey john! Wait!

Ann: What are you doing? School is the other way.
john: Oh, hey Jack. Hey, Ann
Um, yeah I forgot something, I’m going to go get it now.
Jack: Your bag is literally packed to the brim. It’s fine, it’s just the first day.
Ann: Don’t be nervous! The senior side is great.
John: It’s still school!
Jack: But it’s better now! Come on, don’t back out, we’ve been waiting for this for so
long. Let’s go, it’ll be fun. Trust me for once.
Cue tugging
John: Okay, okay! I’ll come!
He tries to slip away, gets caught, gets dragged.
Scene 4
Narrator:John finds himself standing at the school gates — anxious and nervous. But
just a little encouragement, a few familiar faces, and suddenly, it doesn’t seem so
bad.

John: I should have stayed at home.

Jack: Hey, it’s not about surviving the lessons, it’s about finding ways to enjoy
everything. Don’t hesitate and be open about stuff, maybe make new friends.
Ann: Exactly! Don't hesitate to be open to learn about new stuff, maybe make new
friends?
Jack: it's easy to change if you give it your all. All you gotta do is just believe you
can be who you want to be-- you got this buddy (pats his back)
James: hey hey! You three! Over here!
Charlie: John, it’s been a while! We’ve been way too out of touch, and it sucks that
we haven’t talked that much.
James: Come, let’s sit at the front, it’s better when we’re all together. Let me tell
you about this story that happened the other day...ITS INSANE
Scene 5
Narrator: As the day goes on, John realizes something. He’s smiling. Because school
wasn’t as intimidating as he thought it was.
John: I actually really enjoyed today. I don’t know if it was the ICT lab or the library,
but this place is pretty cool. I expected today to be full of tension and work.
Jack: Aren’t you glad we dragged you to school today?
Ann: You even made friends with Charlie and James again.
John: You're right, it wasn't so bad after all. It was all about perspective at the end
of the day, school isn't as bad as people make it to be, and it isn't all about wear
and tear and surviving through tough lessons.. it's more about the memories we
make and cherish together.. thanks guys

Narrator: Sometimes, the things we fear the most turn out to be the things we grow
to enjoy the most. A new school year isn’t just about classes — it’s about chances.
New people. New memories.

At the end, Zane, Ali, Maya, and Zara — after all the nerves, the anxiety, and the
fear they faced — saw that everything worked out for the better in the end.

As we welcome our Sr. 1 students to the Senior side, we want to remind you:
however you’re feeling today — nervous, anxious, excited — you are not alone.
Together, through friendship, kindness, and honesty, you'll be able to overcome
anything and everything this year

And as you begin this new chapter, remember our school’s motto — Caritas et
Veritas — Love and Truth — to guide you through the year ahead.
Thank you
