Scene 1: Classroom – First Day
Narrator:
It’s a regular school day at Greenwood High, but today, someone new is joining. Meet Ella — nervous,
quiet, and hoping to fit in. But not everyone is ready to welcome her.
(Students are chatting. Ella enters nervously.)
Mr. Cruz:
Class, this is Ella. She's transferring here from Laguna. Let's give her a warm welcome. Ella, you can sit
beside Mira.
Ella:
Hi everyone... I’m Ella. It’s nice to meet you.
Mira (whispers to Cheska):
Ugh, look at her clothes. So old-fashioned.
Cheska (whispers back):
She seems nice though… maybe she's just shy.
Mr. Cruz:
Alright, let’s begin. Take out your math notebooks.
---Scene 2: Recess – Hallway Narrator:
Ella hopes recess will be a chance to make friends. But sometimes, the hardest part of being new isn’t
just being alone — it’s being noticed for the wrong reasons.
(Ella is eating alone. Mira and Cheska walk by.)
Mira:
Hey, new girl! Why are you sitting alone? Got no friends?
Ella:
I… I just got here. I’m still trying to adjust.
Mira (mocking):
Aww, poor thing. Maybe you should go back to where you came from.
Cheska (quietly):
Mira… that’s a bit harsh.
Mira:
What? I’m just being honest.
(They walk away. Ella looks down, hurt. Sam notices and approaches.)
Sam:
Hey, are you okay?
Ella:
Not really… I don’t think anyone here likes me.
Sam:
That’s not true. I’m Sam. Wanna eat with me and my friends?
Ella (smiles faintly):
Sure. Thank you.
Scene 3: Classroom – After Lunch
Narrator:
Later that day, the class is given a group activity. Fate has a funny way of pushing people together, even
those who try to stay apart.
Mr. Cruz:
Okay class, we’ll do a group activity. I’ll assign the groups.
(Students groan. Mira smirks.)
Mr. Cruz:
Group 1: Ella, Mira, Cheska, and Sam.
Mira (whispers):
Great. Stuck with her
.Cheska:Mira, maybe try being kind for once.
Sam:
Let’s just work on the project. We all want a good grade.
Ella:
I can do the slides and summary if that’s okay?
Mira (rolls eyes):
Whatever. Just don’t mess it up.
Scene 4: School Grounds – The Next Day
Narrator:
Sometimes, people who feel powerful use it to bring others down. But it only takes one moment to
stand up and say, “Enough.”
(Ella walks past Mira and Cheska. Mira trips her. Ella falls.)
Mira:
Oops! Didn’t see you there.
Ella (gets up slowly):
Why are you doing this to me?
Mira:
Because you don’t belong here.
Cheska (angrily):
That’s enough, Mira. You’ve gone too far.
Sam (rushing over):
Ella! Are you okay?
Ella (quietly):
No. I’m tired of pretending I’m okay. I just wanted a new start…
Liam (walking by):
I saw what happened. Mira, you should apologize.
Mira (sarcastic): Why should I? No one cares about her.Liam:I care. And I’m sure others do too. Just
because someone is new doesn’t mean they deserve to be treated badly.
---
Scene 5: Principal’s Office
Narrator:
When things go too far, someone has to step in. Sometimes, it’s the school. But sometimes, it’s the
courage of those who speak the truth.
(Mr. Cruz, Mira, Cheska, Ella, and Sam are inside.)
Mr. Cruz:
Mira, several students came forward about your behavior. We do not tolerate bullying here.
Mira (defensive):
I was just joking! It’s not my fault she’s so sensitive.
Mr. Cruz:
Jokes that hurt others are not jokes. Cheska, would you like to say something?
Cheska:
Yes, sir. I saw it all. I didn’t stop her before, and I regret that. Ella didn’t deserve any of it.
Sam:
Ella’s kind and smart. She just wanted friends.
Mr. Cruz:
Thank you, Cheska and Sam. Mira, there will be consequences. You’ll write an apology letter and attend
a counseling session. Ella, we’re here for you. You are welcome in this school.
Ella (teary-eyed):
Thank you, sir. And thank you… everyone.
Scene 6: One Week Later – Classroom
Narrator:
A week has passed. Things have changed. Hearts are softer. Walls are starting to fall. And maybe, just
maybe, a new friendship is forming.
(Ella is smiling, talking with Sam and Liam. Mira walks over slowly.)
Mira: Ella… I just wanted to say I’m sorry. For everything. I was wrong.
Ella:
Thank you. It means a lot to hear that.
Sam:
See? Things can change if we try.
Cheska:
Yeah. I’m glad you stayed, Ella.
Ella:
Me too. Maybe this really is a new start.
---
Narrator (Final Words):
Sometimes, the hardest days lead to the best beginnings. Being new is never easy. But kindness,
courage, and second chances can turn strangers into friends.
