1. Purpose: -
The Objective of this method statement is to outline the general requirements which should be taken
into consideration for the activity of Supply, installation, Testing and commissioning of Elevators. The
Installation works will be carried out by in compliance with contract specifications, Safety requirements
and related Hazard are analyzed and implemented throughout the progress of works.
2. Scope: -
In accordance with the requirements of the contract, the scope of this Quality Method Statement
includes Supply, installation, Testing and commissioning of Elevators.

5.0 Responsibilities: -
5.1 Project Manager / Construction Manager:
1. The Sr. Project Manager / Construction Manager is responsible for the implementation of Method
Statement.
2. The Sr. Project Manager / Construction Manager shall ensure that the key personnel are well
aware of the Specification and Method Statement.
3. The Sr. Project Manager / Construction Manager shall ensure that all resources like Manpower,
Material and Equipment are available to carry out the work as planned and without any delay or
confusions.
5.2 QA/QC Engineer:
1. The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for the effective monitoring, implementation & documentation
of QA/QC Procedures.
2. The QA/QC Engineer shall ensure the implementation of Method Statements, material approval
etc.
3. The QA/QC Engineer shall ensure that all the approvals are available for the safe movements of
works.
4. QA/ QC Engineer will Responsible for on site quality patrolling supervision, surveillance and
inspection of the works to ensure that the quality of works is routinely achieved to avoid NCR and
Site observation.
-Preparing the QC report and coordination with ATC QAQC.
-Pre checking WIRs & MIR prior to submission, to ensure approval.
5. QA/ QC Engineer will present the during Elevator inspection T&C.
5.3 Safety Officer:
1. Safety Officer is responsible for the effective implementation of safety procedures.
2. Safety Officer shall ensure that all safety precaution is in place and personnel on
site are using the required protective equipment.
3. Safety Officer shall be available at site partially for the execution of works.
5.4 Site Engineer/Supervisor:
1. Execute the works as per the instruction given by QA/QC & Project Manager.
2. Carry out works according to the approved Method Statement, Specifications, implementation of
the risk assessment & Approved Drawings.
3. Inform Site Engineers of any activity ready for inspections.
4. Provide daily report to Project Manager.
5. Preparation of MIR & WIR & Ensure it reviewed by QA/QC Engineer before submission.
6. Make sure that safety is well practiced on site.
7. Proper storage of materials.
8. Control site disposal of waste materials.
9. Carry out full supervision and continuous monitoring throughout the activity
10. Provide pre-activity briefing (toll box talk) for safe working procedure.
11. Site Engineer will be responsible for the T&C.
5.5 Technician
1. Installing the Elevators by strictly following all Safety Measures.
2. Before starting entry into shaft, Shaft entry permit to obtained by fitter.
3. Scaffolding to checked with SWL is mentioned.
4. All the PPE to be checked and verified.
5. Slings need to be checked for wear and corrosion. There must be no broken ends or chafing on
fiber slings and check cables for any damage. Do not use any defective equipment.
6. Identify Risk on day to day work and report any Unsafe/ events
7. Report Near miss activities
6.0 Materials: -

The list of the tools to be used in the job is as per the following:
1. General hand tools (i.e.: Screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, cutters, etc…)
2. Electrical toolset (hand-drill, grinder, cutter)
3. Electrical & Mechanical hoists (Truck, Winches and Chain blocks)
4. Shifting equipment (Boom loaders, Forklift, hydraulic trolleys, etc…)
5. PPEs (gloves, goggles, hard hats, plastic gloves)
6. Roller

8.0 Safety & Health: -
8.1 Project and Contractor’s / Employer’s HSE Guidelines and Management Plan
8.2 Safety Hazard & Precautions.
1) All operators will have a contractor's induction and will always hold the relevant
induction card / sticker on site.
2) All operators will wear gloves, safety boots, high-visibility vest, eye protection and
safety helmet as well as hearing protection when needed.
3) All work will be undertaken to limit impact to the environment. Any incidents will
be reported to site management. During work the area will be kept clean and tidy
as practically possible.
9.0 Procedure: -
9.1 Installation of Elevators: -
Material Handling & Storage
Before commencement of material delivery, check the store space provided is accessible, safe and
Clean.
All elevator and accessories will be transported to the site by Company representative and will be solely
responsible for solely activities within site storage yard.
The delivered materials shall be stored in shaded location free of water and external weather. Ensure
that they are placed & stacked neatly. Manufacturer’s instructions shall be followed as applicable.
Site Planning & Preparation
- Check and ensure the materials approved by the consultant.
- Checked and ensure that the shop drawings are approved by the consultant.
- Check the elevator shaft is ready as per Company requirements and ensure shafts are approved
by the consultant as per the ITP.
- Check all the temporary power is provided for the working tools.
- Check three phase power is provided to connect after installation to run the elevator in
inspection mode
- Check the fire signal cable is provided near to the top landing.
- Check the BMS cables are near to the top landing of each unit.
- Temporary lighting is provided by the main contractor during installation.
