What is Flipped Learning?
It is a pedagogical approach where direct instruction takes place outside the classroom, and face-to-face time is
used to develop meaningful and personalized learning activities. I work and prepare at my own pace.

What are the advantages of Flipped Learning?

 I can take as much time as necessary to understand, internalize the session content, practice it, and be ready for class.

 When I prepare the content myself, I remember the information more easily.

 I prepare for class in the comfort of my home, with additional resources if need it; moreover, I am graded for this effort.

 I already know what the class will be about, so I can anticipate and look for more information on a topic that is difficult for me
or one that I want to better prepare for or delve into.
 Since I am better prepared, I can use class time to resolve doubts and improve production skills.

 By being more involved in the class and using this space to practice and talk with my classmates, I can increase my language
level faster. 5

expressions and vocabulary elements studied in class.
• Class tasks will be explained, prepared and presented in the same
class.
• They are NOT readings activities.
• There will be TWO class tasks.

Some aspects to keep in mind
❖ Tutoring sessions: extra class support from the Language Center teachers throughout the week.
➢ They are not mandatory, but the teacher can request a student to attend.

❖ Attendance: Absence limit: 12 hours (20% of the course).

➢ Students who register 13 hours of absences: course is graded in 0.0.
➢ Late arrivals or long periods of time out of the classroom (15 minutes) are also marked as absences.
➢ Once the student fails the class due to abscesses, they lose the right to be evaluated.

❖ Excuses: they must be validated by your faculty.

➢ Teachers at the Language Center can’t validate any excuses as they belong to a cross-curricular program (Art. 69,
Students Regulation code).
➢ Absences are regularly counted even when the student has been excused by the faculty (Art. 68, Students Regulation
code).

❖ Supletorios for exams and tests: they are done through SIGA with your Faculty.
➢ See the Evaluation system to know if you need a Supletorio or just an excuse validation.
