B. REVIEW Now,let ’ s have a short review

regarding of what we have discussed
last meeting. I have here a box. Inside
the box are photos that describes the
use of water in daily activities.

You will pass the box next to your

classmate and as the music stops, the
student holding it will get one photo.

All you have to do is to describe what

kind of activity is being portrayed in the
photo and explain how water helps us.

Do you understand?

PHOTOS: Yes, Ma’am.

1. A kid brushing his teeth.
2. A mom washing the dishes. (The students will pass the box
3. A pet taking a bath. to their classmates.)
4. A baby drinking water in a
bottle.
5. A dad cleaning his car using
brush, soap and water.

period of warm weather with no rain of
less rain like summer, What do you
think will you do to our water?
Why we need to conserve the water?

not.
So that all living thing will survive
or exist.

D. LESSON PROPER Today our topic is connected to our

activity a while ago. Our topic is from
these pictures.

What do you think are those two words

that you can form these pictures? Water Cycle, Ma’am.

Yes, our topic is the importance of

water cycle.

Children have you ever wonder where

the rains comes from? Or how the
clouds are formed?

Well this is the water cycle all about.

DISUSSION:
Class do you know what is this?
(showing picture of an earth)
3/4 of the earth’s surface is water. The
water part is called HYDROSPHERE.
HYDRO - means water
SPHERE - globe or ball
Ask: What do you think why earth is
called blue planet?

What is WATER CYCLE?

The process of the earth recycling

water is called the water cycle.
The water continously moves in the
earth surface because of the process of
water cycle.

What are the 4 process of water cycle?

Now, the water cycle is made up of

four processes:

1. evaporation
2. condensation
3. Precipitation
4. Collection

Water is constantly moving due to the

energy of the sun transforming
surface water into water vapor. The
water vapor eventually forms clouds,
and clouds condense back into water
droplets. When the droplets become
so dense in the clouds, the force of
gravity pulls them back down to the
earth where the cycle continues all
over again.

Now to fully understand,let’s discuss

the processes one by one.

1. Evaporation:
It is when the sun heats up water in
the seas, rivers, lakes, oceans and
glaciers and turns it into water vapor
or steam, and rises up into the
atmosphere.

Transpiration:
Water is also evaporated through
plants and soil through this process.

2. Condensation:
As the water vapor rises higher into
the air, it cools and condenses.
Condensation means that the water
changes from gas to liquid (water
droplets). It forms the bluish and
white thing in the sky. What do you
think it is? Clouds! Ma’am

Nice! Clouds are made up of million

tiny droplets of water. How cool it is,
right?

Moving on,

3. Precipitation
The water keeps condensing to form
clouds, but when there is too much
accumulation or collection of water,
the clouds become heavy. What do
you think will be the effect of this? Rain, Ma’am!

Good! And if the atmosphere is cold

enough, the form of precipitation
changes from rain to snow and sleet!
4. Collection/Water Storage
In the last stage, the water will go
back to the bodies of water such as
oceans, seas, rivers, lakes and
glaciers.

It also can be soaked up by the soil,

called infiltration.

Are the processes of water cycle Yes, ma’am

clear to you class?
So what can you say about the
water cycle? Is it important? Yes

Here are the importance of Water

Cycle. Everybody read The pupils will read it

Singing an action song

class in order for you to remember

the stages of water cycle I
prepared an action song for you.

IV. GENERALIZATION  Now class what have you learned

for today?
 Are the process of water cycle (Student’s answer varies)
clear to you class?
 How many process of water cycle
are there?
 Why water cycle is important?

V. ABSTRACTION Group Activity

(DEVELOPING Group 1- will make an illustration of the
MASTERY) water cycle using cut-outs.

Group 2- Will sequence the water cycle

stages by numbering 1,2,3,4 in the
blank provided.

Group 3- will complete the missing

letters to form a word about water
cycle.

VI. APPLICATION Okay it seems that you understood our

lesson, let’s have this activity.

Activity 1
(The students will do the activity)
DIRECTION: Arrange the process of
the water cycle according to the
sequence by using the pictures,
terminologies and definitions.
(The students will do the
Activity 2 activity.)
On your paper, draw a water cycle.
Color it using crayons and also write
the processes involved.

VII. EVALUATION DIRECTION: Identify the stage

described in each sentence. Choose
the best answer from the choices
given below. Write the letter of the
correct answer on the space provided
before the number.

A. Water cycle
B. Evaporation
C. Condensation
D. Precipitation
E. Collection

_______ 1. It is the process wherein

the water falls back to the earth, it
may go into the ocean, lakes, or
rivers.

________2. The sun heats up water in

seas, rivers, lakes, and oceans and
turns it into water vapor and rises up
into the air.

________3. The water vapor in the air

gets cold and changes back into liquid
into tiny drops of water forming
clouds.

________4. The water moves from

place to place above, on and below
the earth surface.

________5. The clouds get heavy and

water falls back to earth in form or
rain, hail, sleet, or snow.

VIII. ASSIGNMENT Illustrate the water cycle by making a

collage Art using recycled Materials. At
the back write the importance of water
cycle.
