Revision Release Date (DD/MM/YY)

v.1.0.1.3 June 15, 2020 (15/06/2020)
Submerged Arc Cell Configuration v 1.0.1.3 – Updates/Technical Notes
o Upgrade to use LEAL version 2.1.1.
o The LEAL version is automatically checked to be product version 2.1 or later
o Upgrade to use .NET Framework 4.6.1.

Revision Release Date (DD/MM/YY)

v.1.0.1.2 April 30, 2015 (30/04/2015)
Submerged Arc Cell Configuration v 1.0.1.2 – Updates/Technical Notes
o Lower Resolution Display Screen compatibility:
All of the forms have been tested to work alongside Command Center as utilized with
lower resolution display screens. Refer to the Command Center v.1.0.1.2 Release
Notes for the list of supported display combinations.

o Improvements/Corrections to the Detect/Select Welders step

 In previous version, selecting the Master-Lead-Master AC/DC 1000 SD power source as the
second in the drop down resulted in the appearance of display of two 1 st Master-Trail power
sources sharing the same arc as displayed the Welders in the new cell area. With this
correction the two power sources are displayed as being associated with different arcs.

Note: The Master-Lead AC/DC 1000 SD power source is always highlighted in bold. Its proper
configuration within the Welders in the new cell area is to be placed as the 1st top-most arc.

 Submerged Arc Cell configuration has been corrected to prevent the display of
multiple AC/DC 1000 Slaves with the same IP address under an AC/DC 1000 Master as
it appears in both in the Available welders area. & Welders in the new cell area.
The appearance of the duplicate is a display anomaly and prevented the proper
execution of tests in the Apply and Finish section.

Revision Release Date (DD/MM/YY)
v.1.0.1.1 June 19, 2014 (19/06/2014)
Submerged Arc Cell Configuration v 1.0.1.1 – Updates/Technical Notes
o Windows 8 Support – Submerged Arc Cell Configuration installation and operation under
Windows 8 has been tested.

o Improvements/Corrections to the Detect/Select Welders step

 In some systems, Submerged Arc Cell Configuration would fail to automatically detect or
manually detect connection to any power source on a single subnet.
This problem is unique to the presence on the network subnet an AC/DC 1000 power
source that is configured with an external System Interface where the Ethernet port on
the external system Interface is not connected. Version 1.0.1.1 corrects this problem.

o Improvements/Corrections to the Apply Settings step – Travel Carriage support

 In version 1.0.1.0 Submerged Arc Cell Configuration was enhanced to support the
specification of Travel Carriage Controls for Command Center.

In some Submerged Arc system scenarios; the external System Interface is used for its
Travel Carriage support, but is not utilized to provide phase synchronization support for
AC/DC 1000 SD power sources.

On these types of systems, attempts to configure the system result in the following
error(s) ‘A Welder is setup as a Master Lead in a System utilizing an external
System Interface….’ or ‘The phase generator on the System Interface is turned
off/disabled….’

To accommodate these types of systems, Submerged Arc Cell configuration has been
modified to exclude the execution of the ‘Hardware Configuration/Dipswitch Settings’
test when only the ‘Create .arcs file’ test is selected. This accommodation allows an
.arcs file with Travel Carriage settings to be created when the ‘Create .arcs file’ test is run
with the System Interface step selection set to Yes. For this type of system, the other
tests on the Apply Settings are run with the System Interface selections set to No.

Additional information can be found in section 3.2 and in item v. in section 4.2 of the

Command Center User documentation errata.

o Other Improvements/Corrections – About button now reports the LEAL version. The
LEAL version is automatically checked to be product version 1.1 or later.

Known Problems\Issues
1. Problem: Power-sources are not re-detected after going back to the Welcome Screen.
Resolution: None at this time, see the Workaround.
Workaround: The power-sources can be redetected by closing then re-opening the application.

2. Problem: When the ‘Save setting in power sources’ test is run, it fails indicating that Sub Arc Cell
Configuration must be closed and re-opened to detect the welders after the reset.

Resolution: When power sources are reset, the mapping of the internal ArcLink objects may
change from when they are initially detected in the Detect/Select Welders and System Interface
select steps. The equivalent scenario within Power Wave Manager occurs when Apply Settings is
pressed and the user is instructed to reconnect to the power-source. This allows Power Wave
Manager to properly remap the ArcLink objects after a reset. The current version of Sub Arc Cell
configuration does not support this functionality. Utilize the Workaround instead.

Workaround: Sub Arc Cell Configuration provides a ‘Back’ button that allows the user to review
and record the selections made in the previous steps. These can be recorded before exiting.
Another alternative work-around involves the fact that the Yes/No selection on the Systems
Interface step when toggled will clear the error and re-enable the ‘Apply and save settings…’
button in the ‘Apply and Finish’ step. Sub Arc Cell Configuration in this case will execute an
additional test that checks to determine if the ArcLink objects that it had previously mapped, have
been moved due to the reset. If they have not moved, then any other tests that are selected will
be run. If the ArcLink objects have moved, then an error will be produced in the Log and the
user will have to close and re-open the application to remap the welders.

3. Problem: The User Manual is has not been updated.

Resolution: The User Manual will be updated in a follow-up release.
Workaround: The Submerged Arc Cell Configuration User Manual – Corrections document
contains a list of changes/corrections to the User Documentation in its current form to bring it up
to date with v1.0.1.1 functionality. . Consult it as well as these release notes when there are
questions on the User Manual.
