Introduction :
How AI is becoming a powerful tool in both graphic design and digital verification.
I gave examples of AI applications in platforms like Canva and Photoshop, as well as in
engineering systems used for testing and validating circuit designs.
I also explained how the presentation will be divided between design, verification, and future
perspectives — to help the audience see the full picture.
*AI Can Create Images… So What’s Left for Designers?*
With the rise of AI image generation tools, anyone can write a simple prompt, and instantly
generate visuals in seconds.
This raises a big question:
> “If AI can create images, what’s left for the graphic designer to do?”
The answer is that the designer’s role hasn’t disappeared — it’s evolved.
While AI can handle repetitive and technical tasks like cropping, resizing, or color adjustments,
the designer now focuses on concept, context, and communication.
Designers are no longer just “pixel pushers.”
They are creative directors, shaping the message and ensuring that the visual matches the
brand, the audience, and the purpose.
*The New Role of the Designer in the Age of AI*
In the AI era, designers need new skills and a new mindset.
They work more as strategic thinkers, combining AI-generated content with human creativity,
logic, and taste.
Today’s designer is responsible for:
Making sure the design fits the target audience
Aligning the visuals with the brand identity
Maintaining consistency with the project context and tone
AI might produce something that looks impressive — but without the human filter, it can easily
miss the goal.
So instead of being replaced, the designer becomes a guide and decision-maker in the creative
process.
*Focus Areas*
1. Prompt Engineering for AI Image Generation
Designers must learn how to write effective prompts to communicate their vision to AI.
It’s not about typing random words — it’s about directing the AI to generate results that match
the designer’s intention and style.
2. Combining AI Outputs with Human Refinement
The AI output is often just a starting point.
Designers review, select, adjust, and build upon what AI gives them — adding the human touch
that machines still lack.
3.Understanding AI Limitations and Ethical Considerations
Designers also need to be aware of:
AI’s bias and randomness
Legal issues (ownership, copyright)
Ethical use of generated content
They play a key role in filtering and guiding AI to ensure the final design is purposeful,
responsible, and original
How Artificial Intelligence (AI) assists engineers in verifying digital systems.
Focus on AI's application in checking logic circuits and code to ensure
correctness.
What is Digital Verification ?
The crucial process of ensuring that digital circuits and code function correctly.
Performed before production to prevent costly errors and redesigns.
AI's Role in Digital Verification:
Bug Detection using Machine Learning (ML): AI algorithms can identify subtle errors and
anomalies that human engineers might miss.
Test Case Generation:
Smart Fuzzing : Intelligent generation of unexpected inputs to stress the system.
Pattern-Based Simulation : Creating test scenarios based on observed system behaviors.
Coverage Prediction : Assessing whether enough of the design has been tested, helping to
achieve comprehensive verification.
Key AI Tools
Industry Tools Leveraging AI:
Cadence Jasper AI : A leading platform for formal verification, enhanced by AI.
Synopsys VSO.ai : AI-driven optimization and verification solutions.
Intel and Google AI models : Companies like Intel and Google develop and utilize their
own proprietary AI models for internal verification processes.
Benefits of AI in Verification
Advantages of Using AI:
Saves Time in Debugging : AI helps pinpoint issues faster, significantly reducing verification
cycles.
Detects Hard-to-Find Edge Cases : AI can uncover obscure bugs that only manifest under
very specific or unusual conditions.
Handles Large, Complex Designs Faster Than Humans : AI's processing power and
analytical capabilities far exceed human limitations when dealing with the immense complexity
of modern digital systems
The Future of AI in Design & Verification:
I discussed how AI is not replacing humans, but rather becoming a co-creator in design and a
smart assistant in technical verification.
I presented how new job roles are emerging (like Prompt Engineers and AI Quality Testers), and
mentioned some ethical concerns, such as:
Originality in AI-generated designs
Trust in AI decisions in sensitive systems
Ownership of AI outputs
I encouraged the audience to see AI as a partner, not a threat — and emphasised the need for
human creativity, judgment, and responsibility.
Assessment :
At the end of the presentation, I conducted a short interactive quiz to engage the audience and
check their understanding.
It included 3 multiple-choice questions related to the presentation topics:
AI features in design tools like Canva
AI’s role in digital verification
Challenges of using AI in creative work
Conclusion :
AI is a tool — it helps us design smarter and verify faster, but we give it meaning and direction,
So what AI tool would you be excited to try next — as a designer, an engineer, or a learner?
