Lands’ End Style ID Label
Lands’ End requires Style ID labels in all Lands’ End product.
1. Apparel - Home - Bags & Accessories
1.1 Material Options:
Option 1: White woven polyester satin tape.
OR
Option 2: Printed option through Avery Dennison.
This is the required option for all Oeko-tex certified styles.
If vendor intends to use any label other than the above stated options, actual samples
must be submitted for approval by the Lands’ End Packaging & Labeling Department.
Six printed production Style ID label samples must be submitted. The label
samples must be submitted with all specified garment after treatments (i.e. garment
wash, enzyme wash, garment dye, etc.). Lands’ End will conduct internal testing
to ensure laundering and/or dry-cleaning durability. A brief wear test may will be conducted
on the garment for label comfort, comments and label quality if necessary.
Vendors will receive sample submit comments and results of the testing from Packaging
& Labeling Department. Testing may take up to 2 weeks.

12mm Wide x 38mm Long. Horizontal only – For Bags and Accessories
25mm Wide x up to 38mm Long. Vertical only – For Apparel and Home or Bags
After insertion label should not be longer than the brand label.
1.2 Label Placement:
View Standard Operating Process by product for exact placement.
1.3 Printing:
Label must be printed with a permanent black ink and be able to withstand 20 machine
washings and 5 professional dry-cleanings. All information must be legible and should
be printed in Arial font and 8pt font for 25mm label and 5pt font on the 12mm label.

1.4 Required Information: must be present in this order and format:
Lands’ End assigned UPC or EAN human readable digits (12 or 13) - MANDATORY
(Lands’ End Purchuse Orders are currently configured to show 13-digits, often with a
leading first digit of 0. These should be treated as UPC numbers with 12 digits printed,
ignoring the leading zero and not printing the 0.)
Lands’ End Style Number - MANDATORY
Vendor/Factory Number - MANDATORY, preceded by the letter V and F.
Factory number should be the factory from which the product is shipped and should
match the Lands’ End purchase order. This may not reflect the sewing factory if sewing
is done at a different factory.
Production Code - MANDATORY, the letter represents the month of the cut date and
the year is the number of the year. (March 2020 = E20)

home and quilted down apparel. Proceeded by PER.NO.
Special Codes - if applicable, (GW-garment wash).
For women’s and girls’ swimwear, pajama sets or gift sets of multiple items sold together
as a set only, indicate number of pieces: 2PC, or 3PC.
Size - optional, must match Lands’ End size chart
Vendor Internal Number - optional
Inseam - optional, on pre-hemmed pants.

Cut Number - optional
*cut number is a number or alpha listing to identify a particular portion of units which will
will provide a basis to tran any problems with the style. Some vendors use a number
different from the style nad other vendors simply add a letter after the style number to
identify a portion of the cut. Many of our vendors already do this spcifically so they can
easily identify problem cuts.
*Oeko-Tex certification numbers are not permitted on this label.

2. Footwear
2.1 Material Options:
Woven polyester ribbon/tape, direct print, heat transfer or adhesive sticker.
Size Options:
Varies depending on style, but must be clearly visable, sizes must be in US, EU and
UK sizing, conversions can be found on the International sizing conversion chart.
2.2 Label Placement:
See following pages and view product specification.
2.3 Printing:
White ribbon or tape must be printed with a permanent black ink.
Direct print can be black, white, silver or gold depending on base color printing on.
Must be visible on shoe when applied.
Heat transfer should be white with black print or black with white print.
Clear adhesive sticker can be black or gold print and must be visible on shoe when
applied.
All infomation should be printed in Arial font no smaller than 5pt.
Samples must be submitted for approval before bulk. Must show actual size label,
placement and printing in shoe (photo is ok).

2.6 Footwear Labeling EU Pictogram - required for all Lands’ End Footwear
Shoes supplied within the European Union must be labeled according to EU Directive
94/11. The label must provide information on the materials which constitutes at least
80% of the surface area of the upper, and lining and sock of the footwear, and at least
80% of the volume of the outersole. The shoe must be represented on the label
by means of specified pictograms or words. These are all illustrated below.
In the case of an unlined footbed, please indicate the material the footbed is made
from. Example: A sandal where the upper is lined w/ textile and there is no lining on
the footbed, but if the foot will touch the EVA should include both TEXTILE +
OTHER MATERIALS for lining. If any material makes up less than 80% of the upper,
lining or outsole, it does not need to be included on the EU pictogram.
