VPN Configuration Process on Windows
1. You should have already received your VPN login credentials. If not, please contact our
Technical support team at [email protected]
2. Follow the below steps to install and log into the ‘Sophos Connect :
Step 1: Open your preferred web browser like Google Chrome.
Step 2: Go to the URL https://14.194.57.202:4443/
Step 3: You will get a warning that your connection may not be private. Simply bypass this
page by clicking on "ADVANCED" and then "Proceed to..." as shown in the
Below screenshot.

Step 4: Log in with your VPN user credentials.
Step 5: You need to download two files from the portal as shown below. Make sure you need
to download both files.

Step 6: While downloading is going on, you can change your VPN password by clicking on
the “Change password” under the “Personal” tab and using the new password to log in. This
step is optional.
Step 7: After both the setup files get downloaded, install
SophosConnect_2.2.90(IPsec_and_SSLVPN) to start the setup.
Step 8: Read through the license agreement [Optional] and then click "I Agree" and click on
Install:

Step 9: The installation will be shown in progress:
Step 10: Once the installation process has been completed then mark the tick and click "Finish"

Step 11: Now that you have the SSL Connect installed and you'll now want to establish your
connection. Access your hidden tray icons as shown in the below screenshot. Right-Click on
the icon and click on Sophos Connect.
Step 12: Now you need to click on Import connection as shown below:

Step 13: Now select the configuration file (the second file which you have downloaded) and
click open as shown below:
Step 14: Once the configuration file has been imported, then click on Connect as shown below:

Step 15: Login with the same VPN Username and new Password which you created in Step6.
Else if you have not changed the password then you can use the default password as
maven123. Also, you can tick the save username and password option as well.
Step 16: Wait for a while and the connection will be initiated stating you have successfully
Connected through VPN as shown below:

Enhance your VPN speed with these steps:
1. Run simulations/synthesis only on command mode
2. Use GUI only for post-simulation debugging – Check with the technical support team if you
are not sure
3. Avoid running the video streaming applications like YouTube /
4. Netflix/Prime Video while working on the VPN access – This reduces your internet bandwidth
and reduces the speed of VPN access
5. Also, check your internet bandwidth and the number of parallel active connections. More
parallel active internet connections on low bandwidth internet will slow down the VPN access.
6. Broadband/FiberNet internet connection of a minimum of 40 MBPS is highly recommended
7. If possible, connect your machine to the router through a LAN cable

8. Create strong passwords and change your passwords every 90 days
9. Never click on a link from an untrusted source.
10. Use antivirus software, and update it on a regular basis to recognize the latest threats.
11. Perform regular backups of important data.
12. Never give out your password to anyone, whether you know them or not.
13. Never write down your password. Especially on a Post-It note stuck to your computer!
14. Do not leave your laptop unattended, even for a few minutes.
15. Do not install P2P file-sharing programs which can illegally download copyrighted material.
