Process
Textile & History
➢ Textile is a term that comes from “texere” which is a Latin word, that means “to
weave”. •

➢ A cloth, especially one manufactured by weaving or knitting a fabric.

➢ Cotton fibers were gathered ,spun and twisted at least 10,000years in Peru.

➢ Fabric from Pakistan appear about 3000B.C.


Textile industry

➢ The textile industry is characterized by the economic activity whose objective


is the production of fibres, yarns, fabrics, clothing and textile goods for home
and decoration, as well as technical and industrial purposes.
➢ In manufacturing, the Textile is one of the oldest and most complex
sectors which includes a large number of sub-sectors covering the
entire production cycle, from raw materials and intermediate products,
to the production of final products.

➢ The raw material may be natural, or synthetic using products of


the chemical industry.
➢ Textile industry activities present different subdivisions, each with its
own traits.

➢ The length of the textile process and the variety of its technical processes
lead to the coexistence of different sub-sectors in regards to their
business structure and integration.

➢ The textile industry is developing expert systems applications to increase


production, improve quality and reduce costs.
Textile Industry Of Pakistan
➢ The textile industry is the largest manufacturing industry in Pakistan.

➢ The textile industry is often considered the backbone of the Islamic Republic of
Pakistan’s economy.

➢ Pakistan is the 4th largest producer of cotton with the third largest spinning capacity in
Asia after China and India

➢ 6th largest importer of raw cotton

➢ Pakistan is the 8th largest exporter of textile commodities in Asia


Textile Industry Of Pakistan

➢ The Third largest Consumer

➢ At present, there are atleast 1,221 ginning units, 442 spinning units, 124 large
spinning units and 425 small units which produce textile.
Textile Manufacturing Process

➢ Textile fibers provided an integral component in modern society and


physical structure known for human comfort and sustainability. Man is a
friend of fashion in nature.

➢ The desire for better garment and apparel resulted in the development of
textile fiber production and textile manufacturing process.
➢ Textile Manufacturing process is beginning towards the production of any garment or
Textile Products. The aspirations for quality garment and apparel gave rise to
development of textile fibres and textile production units.

➢ Textile manufacturing is an extensive and immense industry having a complex procedure.


It undergoes range of stages as converting fibre into yarn, yarn into fabric and so on
ending up with clothing as a concluding product.
The 4 Stages In Textile Manufacturing Process
➢ Textile production units include significant quality of textile process for
manufacturing that adds value in fiber.

➢ The cloth production is not an output of few stages but it do undergoes from
various steps. The process describing the stages of manufacturing procedure is
listed below

STAGE: 1 • Spinning

STAGE:2 • Weaving

STAGE :3 • Dyeing + Printing + Finishing

STAGE:4 • Garments Manufacturing
