1.1 What is the most important thing to do before going to school?
1.2 What do you consider to be the most enjoyable thing that took place
during your day?
1.3 Why events are needed in life?
Presentation The teacher will discuss the topic “ sequence of events” and present a
20 minutes story entitled “ The Lion and the Mouse”. Then afterwards, let the
students answer the questions by raising their hands.
Sequencing refers to the identification of the components of a story
— the beginning, middle, and end — and also to the ability to retell
the events within a given text in the order in which they occurred.
The ability to sequence events in a text is a key comprehension
strategy, especially for narrative texts.
Why teach story sequence?
1. It assists with comprehension, especially for narrative texts.
2. Sequence structures help students of varying abilities
organize information and ideas efficiently.
3. Sequencing is also an important component of problem-
solving across the curriculum, including science and social
studies.
The three little pigs
Once upon a time, there lived three little pigs. One day, they decided
to leave home and build houses of their own.
The first little pig thought that straw would make a good house He
built the house very quickly and he was very pleased with it. The
second little pig thought that sticks would make a fine house. He
built the house very quickly and he was very pleased with it. The
third little pig thought that bricks would make a strong house. It took
him a long time to build the house but he was very pleased with it.
One day, a big bad wolf came along. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and
I’ll blow your house down!” growled the big bad wolf. So he huffed
and he puffed and he blew the house down! The first little pig
escaped and ran to join his brother in the house made of sticks.
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down!” growled the
big bad wolf. So, he huffed and he puffed and he blew the house
down!
The big bad wolf followed the pigs to the house made of bricks.
“Little pig, little pig, let me come in,” he snarled. “Not by the hair on
my chinny, chin, chin!” cried the third little pig. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll
puff and I’ll blow your house down!” growled the big bad wolf. He
huffed and he puffed, but the house was too strong. He could not
blow it down! This made the big bad wolf very angry. He climbed
onto the roof of the house so he could crawl down the chimney. But
this was too much. The wolf danced about with rage and swore he
would come down the chimney and eat up the little pig for his
supper.
But while he was climbing on to the roof the little pig made up a
blazing fire and put on a big pot full of water to boil.
Then, just as the wolf was coming down the chimney, the little piggy
pulled off the lid, and plop! in fell the wolf into the scalding water.
So, the little piggy put on the cover again, boiled the wolf up, and the
three little pigs ate him for supper.
