As a student, the lesson made me realize that I’ve been writing technical
writings without even knowing it. I remember writing laboratory report for my
science classes, where I had to describe the procedures, results and conclusion of our
experiments. Those reports required me to be clear, concise and accurate which are
the same principles emphasized in technical communication. I also recall creating
instructional guides for group projects, where I had to breakdown complex tasks into
step-by-step instructions. Those experiences taught the importance of considering my
audience’s needs and adapting my writing style accordingly.
Looking back, I realize that those laboratory reports and instructional guides
are examples of technical writing, they demonstrate my ability to communicate
complex information in a clear and organized manner as I continue to learn more
about technical communication, I’m excited to apply this skills in real world
scenarios. I’m confident that my experience as a student has provided me with a solid
foundation in technical writing, and I’m eager to develop my skills further. By
recognizing the technical writing skills I’ve already develop, I feel more empowered
to tackle more complex writing tasks in the future.
