(monitor, printer), Storage (primary and secondary), and CPU (ALU,
Control Unit, Registers). - Generations of Computers: 1st Gen (Vacuum
tubes), 2nd Gen (Transistors), 3rd Gen (ICs), 4th Gen (Microprocessors),
5th Gen (AI and advanced computing).

Unit 2: Software and Operating Systems - Software Categories: System


Software (Operating Systems, Device Drivers), Application Software (MS
Office, Browsers), Utility Software (Antivirus, Disk Cleanup). -
Operating Systems: DOS, Windows, Linux, macOS. Functions include
resource management, task scheduling, file handling, and security.

Unit 3: Word Processing and Office Tools - Creating and editing


documents: inserting, formatting, and aligning text. - Features: Styles,
Templates, Tables, Charts, and Mail Merge. - Printing options: Page
layout, orientation, and margin settings.
