The proposal aims to establish a state-of-the-art computer laboratory to provide students with hands-on
experience in problem-solving, programming, simulation, and research using licensed and open-source
software. The lab will foster digital literacy and support engineering curricula by integrating modern
hardware and network infrastructure.
7. Technical Details
The proposal's technical details center on creating multimedia communication strategies that work
for both written and spoken communication. This project intends to investigate communication in
greater detail, with a focus on body language, voice modulation, and graphic aids, even though
current audio-visual aids offer some guidance. A personal computer with sufficient processing
power, multimedia development tools, and access to pertinent literature are among the particular
hardware and software requirements. The project's goal is to improve users' communication abilities
in a variety of settings, from professionals to students.
I. Hardware Requirements
30 high-performance computers (minimum Intel i5, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD)
Networking equipment (routers, switches, cabling)
Interactive Smart Board and projector for demonstrations
Ergonomic lab furniture with AC and power backup
Printers and scanners for lab documentation
II. Software Requirements
Licensed software: Multisim, Matlab
Open-source software: NS2, Python Spider, Xilinx, Scilab, Packet Tracer, LT Spice, Arduino
Operating Systems: Windows, Linux (Dual boot capability)
III. Unique Features
Modern computing environment for practicals, project execution, and simulation
Exposure to emerging open source technologies
Integration with other labs and departments for collaborative research
8. Intoduction of the Project
The computer lab is designed to facilitate hands-on learning, coding, and research for students of all
backgrounds. It aims to bridge gaps in digital literacy and empower future engineers and professionals with
practical skills. The facility will also support faculty research and collaborative projects, addressing the
growing need for technology-driven education
9. Objectives
