On the basis of angles

1. Acute angled triangle

2. Right angled triangle

3. Obtuse angled triangle

1. Acute angled triangled

→ An acute triangle has all of its angle less than 90°

2. Right angled triangle

→ In any triangle, one of its angle is 90°

The angel in the front of 90° is hypotonus (longest side of ∆)

Here we use,

𝐻𝑦𝑝𝑜𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑢𝑠 𝐻𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝐵𝑎𝑠𝑒

3. Obtuse angled triangle

→ A triangle has any of its one angles more than 90°

Exterior angle = sum of all opposite interior angle

∠4
1. Al tude → The al tude of a triangle is the distance from a vertex to the opposite side of the triangle. It is
also known as the height of the triangle.

2. Orthocentre → The orthocentre of a triangle is the point where all three of its al tudes meet. An
al tude is a line segment that is perpendicular to a side of the triangle and touches the opposite vertex.

3. Median → A median of a triangle is a line segment that connects a vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of
the opposite side. Every triangle has three medians, one from each vertex. The three medians meet at a
single point called the centroid.
4. Centroid→ The centroid of a triangle is the point at which the three medians intersect. To locate the
centroid, draw each of the three medians (which connect the ver ces of the triangle to the midpoints of
the opposite sides). It is referred to as the "centre of mass" or "balance point" of the triangle.

Proper es of the centroid

 The centroid divides each median in a 2:1 ra o.

 The centroid always lies inside the triangle.

 For a triangle made of a uniform material, the centroid is the centre of gravity.

5. Angel Bisector → An angle bisector of a triangle is a line that splits an angle into two equal parts. It is
drawn from the vertex of a triangle to the opposite side.

Angle bisector proper es

 The angle bisector divides the opposite side into two parts that are propor onal to the other two
sides of the triangle.

 There can be three angle bisectors in a triangle, one for each vertex.

 The point where the three angle bisectors meet is called the incenter.

 The distance from the incenter to all the edges of the triangle is the same.

6. Incentre → The incenter of a triangle is the intersec on point of all the three interior angle bisectors of
the triangle. In other words, it can be defined as the point where the internal angle bisectors of the triangle
cross.

a. If s is the semiperimeter of the triangle and r is the inradius of the triangle, then the area of the
triangle is equal to the product of s and r, i.e. A = sr.

b. The triangle’s incenter always lies inside the triangle.

c. It is always equidistant from the sides of triangle.

7. Perpendicular Bisector → The perpendicular bisector of a triangle is the line segment that is drawn from
a vertex to the opposite side bisec ng the side at a right angle. The perpendicular of a triangle is
perpendicular to the sides drawn from the opposite ver ces and divides the sides into two equal parts.

Proper es of a perpendicular bisector

 It divides a line segment into two equal parts

 It makes a right angle with the line segment

 Each point on the perpendicular bisector is the same distance from each of the endpoints of the
original line segment

Using perpendicular bisectors

 Perpendicular bisectors are useful for drawing isosceles triangles

 They are also useful for finding the centre of a circle
