Section A
Hello everyone Sorry to interrupt your class I just want to make a We just want to make a
quick announcement about our summer timetable. Schumer's dance school will be
offering new classes this spring due to strong demand. Angela Stevenson will be back this
term running the ballet class. This class will be on Tuesdays and instead of the normal
hour from 6.30 to 7.30, we'll be running the class for an hour and a half, so it'll continue
until 8 o'clock. This means we have to charge higher fees but only slightly higher from
8.50 to 10.50. That's only 2 pounds for the extra half hour. Next, Janine Davis will still be
teaching the tango classes. Instead of being on Mondays, these classes will be on
Wednesday nights from 7 o'clock to 8 o'clock. The fee will still be 7.50 for the hour. Last
but not least, Andrew is taking over the tap class. This class is for early rises as it starts at
8.30 on Saturday morning and finishes at 10. We expect this class to be very popular as
tap is a great way to get fit while learning new dancing skills. This will cost 11 pounds.
All the other classes remain the same as the winter timetable. We hope there's something
for all of you at Schumer's.
. Part 2.
Hi, Warren.
Hi, Emily. What are you doing this weekend?
I'm going to a meeting. The student's organisation that I know is holding it.
And what's it about?
Quite a few things. We're planning to organise a protest march about the lack of job
opportunities and working conditions for young people.
It sounds interesting, but it's made a bit of a waste of time.
What do you mean?
Don't get me wrong, Emily. I mean, I walk through the streets of London against climate
change, but afterwards I just thought, what difference does it make? The people in power
don't listen to us.
I'd integrate through. Protest does work. We collected over 10,000 signatures about the
council's plans to build a shopping centre on the park, and they changed it.
Okay.
Part three.
Now turn to part three.
So, the Student Union here is really the heart of campus life. There are many different
services, and most of the student groups and organizations meet at this facility. As a
student at the university, you have full access to all that we offer. I guess I will talk about
the dining facilities first. We have eight venues from which students can choose to have
their meals. Two of these are franchise outlets that offer normal fast food fare, such as fish
and chips, hamburgers, and soda. One dining area has a do-it-yourself system.
Specializing in food for the vegetarian and vegan members of the campus community,
there is a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, and grains. At the end of the buffet are
several cooking stations available for students to create their own meals. The Student
Union has a wide variety of entertainment options as well. Those over the minimum age
can drink at one of the three bars. During the school year, they regularly offer live music.
Musical groups from both the local scene and occasionally even very famous people have
performed there. All the bars serve domestic and imported beers, wine and hard liquor. A
cinema theatre with 750 seats is available for screening films. The movie appreciation
group also screens many types of films, even foreign and classic movies. Also, the theatre
is where guest speakers hold lectures. These speakers are sometimes professors from other
universities or other notable people.
