School Assembly Script – Earth Day

MC1 (Opening):
Good morning everyone! Today we have gathered here to celebrate Earth Day, a day that
reminds us of our duty to protect and preserve our planet. Every year on April 22nd, people
around the world come together to create awareness about environmental protection.

MC2:
Earth is our only home, and it gives us everything—air, water, food, and shelter. But sadly,
our planet is suffering because of pollution, deforestation, and climate change. On this day,
let’s remind ourselves that small changes by each of us can make a big difference.

Prayer
(Lead the school in a prayer for peace, harmony, and the well-being of our planet.)

Prayer Song
(A short, uplifting song about nature, environment, or peace. If your school already has a
standard prayer song, continue with that.)

Thought for the Day

MC1:
The thought for the day is: “The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth.” Let’s
carry this thought in our actions today and every day.

Short Skit (2–3 minutes)

Scene: A park with two friends.

Friend 1: (throwing wrapper on the ground) It’s just one piece of plastic, what harm can it
do?

Friend 2: That one wrapper can take hundreds of years to decompose. Imagine if everyone
thought like you!

Friend 1: (shrugs) But what can I do alone?

Friend 2: One person can inspire many. If you stop littering, others will too. If you plant a
tree, others will follow. Big changes always start small.

Friend 1: (picks up the wrapper, smiles) You’re right. Today I’ll start by doing my part.
Together: Let’s all join hands to save our Earth!

(They hold a small placard saying: “Save Earth, Save Future.”)

Speech
MC2:
Let us always remember:

- Save energy by switching off lights and fans when not in use.

- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to cut down waste.

- Plant more trees and protect green spaces.

- Say no to plastic.

Earth doesn’t need us—we need Earth. So, let’s act before it’s too late.

Pledge
All together:
“I pledge to do my part to save the Earth.
I will use resources wisely,
I will keep my surroundings clean,
I will plant trees and care for nature,
And I will encourage others to protect our planet.
Together, we can make Earth a better place.”

Closing
MC1:
On this Earth Day, let’s not just celebrate but also commit to change.

MC2:
Because when we care for the Earth, we care for ourselves and for future generations.

Both Together:
Thank you, and have a green and beautiful day ahead!
