Training Design Process

Training Design Process
• There are different Training Design Processes
• Training design process shown in the above figure is based on Instructional
Training Design (ISD)
• ISD is a process of designing T&D programs. There is not one universally
accepted instructional systems development model
• The training design process sometimes is referred to as the ADDIE
A - Analysis
D – Design
D – Development
I – Implementation
E – Evaluation
• In figure 1.1, step 1 (Conducting Needs Assessment) and step 2
(Ensuring employees readiness for training) are related to analysis

• The next three steps – Creating a learning environment, Ensuring


transfer of training and developing an evaluation criteria are Design
Regardless of the specific ISD approach used, all share the following
assumptions:

• Training design is effective only if it helps employees reach instructional or


training goals and objectives

• Measurable training objectives should be identified before the training


program begins

• Evaluation plays an important role in planning and choosing a training


method, monitoring the training program and suggesting changes to the
training design process
