“PASS THE MESSAGE”
The first person in the group
whispers the message to the person
next to them. Then the second
person will whispers the message to
the next person until the message
reaches the last person in the group.
The last person then write the
message in the board.
“BRING ME”
In this game, you will bring the
object that I will ask from you and
anyone from the group who can bring
the exact object, will get a 1 point.
Learning Outcomes
Today, you'll be able to:
1. Define circle;
2. illustrates a circle and the terms related to it: radius,
diameter chord, center, arc, chord, central angle, and
inscribed angle (M7GEIIIg-1); and
3. solve problems involving the parts of a circle.
• A circle is a set of all
points in a plane at a
given distance (radius)
CIRCLE from a given point
(center) in the plane. It
is named by its center.
RADIUS
A radius of a circle
is a line segment
from the center to
any point of the
circle.
CHORD
A chord of a circle
is a line segment
whose endpoints lie
on the circle.
DIAMETER
Diameter is a chord
which passes
through the center.
• Arc is an unbroken part of a
circle.
• An arc of a circle is two
points on the circle and the
ARC continuous part of the circle
between the two points.
The two points are called
the endpoints of the arc.
SEMICIRCLE
Semicircle is an arc
with measure 180
degrees. Its
endpoints thus form
a diameter.
MINOR ARC
Minor Arc is an arc
which is smaller than a
semicircle. Its measure
(and that of its central
angle) is less than 180
degrees.
MAJOR ARC
Major arc is an arc
which is bigger than a
semicircle. Its measure
(and that of its central
angle) is greater than
180 degrees.
CENTRAL
ANGLE
A central angle is an
angle whose vertex is
the center of the
circle.
INSCRIBED
ANGLE
Inscribed angle is an
angle whose vertex is
on the circle and
whose sides contain
chords of the circle.
