WHAT IS CYBER SPACE?
The word “cyber” is a prefix that is used to
describe anything related to computer or internet
e.g. cyber crime, cyber space, cyber security.
William Gibson used the word “cyber space” for
the first time in the science fiction ‘Neuromancer’
that was written in the year 1984.

network and the communication takes place.
• Specifically, it is an electronic medium, which is used to
form a computer network to aid in online communication.
It is a huge network made up of several computer

Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to facilitate
communication and data exchange activities

• Very few resources are needed to go into cyberspace.
• It is quite easy to conceal one’s identity in cyberspace.
